Format: Party style, whichever format you prefer
Summary: ~~When two busybodies start plotting, all hell breaks loose.~~ "Waver's Anniversary" (or more informally known as Waver and Diarmuid's wedding party.) It's just a party. Nothing to see here. That cake is white just by... accident... and decorated to match the rings... yeeeeeeep... complete accident.
Warnings: Someone may decide to drown a couple people... who knows.

[In case someone is observant enough to notice, Waver and Diarmuid have been wearing matching rings... and under the disguise of a convenient excuse, that being Waver's one year anniversary in the Tower, Lancer and Reno have thrown a party to celebrate.

Keeping the relationship a perfect secret, of course. It's just a party. Good times, shooting the breeze, card games. Unfortunately, there's no booze. The lounge has been set up with a buffet with food from the Floor Sixty Kitchen, and there's a cake.

The cake happens to be white, and decorated. And that celtic knot decoration may just be matching the rings. Complete accident, of course.]

[Diarmuid's face suddenly turns bright red.]

That is the last place we would be! We have no reason to go there!

[He snickers and nudges his brother.]

Not even for a honeymoon? It's quite a romantic spot.

[Diarmuid huffs, crossing his arms over his chest.]

His idea of a 'honeymoon' is going to be spending the whole night in the Laboratory doing research.

[He pats his brother on the head.]

I'd try persuading him to be more romantic, but I think I've used up my luck already when it comes to him...

[He swats lightly at his brother's hand.]

Please don't. I know you mean well, but I don't mind. I like him like he is, romantic or not.

[He shrugs.]

Then I'll listen to you on that.

[There is relief in Diarmuid's smile.]

I wonder if I should talk to him and see if I can't get him to relax a little. Just a little. You two did mean well, but...he's really being Waver right now. I don't know even if I am safe...

You could always try smooching him until he relaxes. Or you can...

[A nervous gulp.]

...agree to help him...get Reno and me back.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

No, I am staying out of any revenge plans. Besides, I don't think he would accept offers of help from me anyway.

He's a surprisingly quick study when properly motivated, but you didn't hear that from me.

[Diarmuid winks at his brother and then directs him toward the food.]

That's probably a good idea. The more we eat, the less Waver can throw at you and Reno...

Oh? I suppose you've been teaching him all your tricks then.

Have you tasted the cake yet? Shion made it, so you should try it.

[He picks up the cake knife and offers it to Diarmuid.]

I've taught him a few. He's become quite fond of the surprise kiss. I can't say that I mind.

[Diarmuid carefully takes the knife and cuts himself some of the cake.]

I haven't yet. I've been too busy offering it to others and making sure it's not thrown at too many people...

Do you want a piece too?

Sure, I'll take some.

[He holds up a place.]

Nobody aside from Waver is throwing cake, are they?

Not yet. Hopefully, it will stay that way.

[Diarmuid gives his brother the piece of cake he had cut for himself and then proceeds to cut another to put on his own plate.]

I really don't want people's hard work to be wasted.

[He picks up a bite of the cake with his fingers and pops it in his mouth.]

Me neither.

...He's not throwing anything other than cake, is he?

[Diarmuid peeks over at Waver as he takes a bite of his own cake. His expression is almost as if he expects Waver to be throwing something at this very moment.]

I don't know. Does siccing the maid on Reno count as throwing something?

[And now Lancer has to look around to see if there's silver people hanging around him.]

Yeah, throwing punches, that is.

So, cake and maids. Thankfully, though, I think that is all he has been throwing...

[Diarmuid pauses...and then shake his head.]

That...doesn't sound right.

Well, he threw me. Cakes, maids, and your brother.

...That doesn't sound right either.

[Diarmuid groans, bringing a hand to his head.]

No...no it doesn't. Perhaps, it would be best if we talked about something else for a while...

[He nods.]

Um...well, what about the kids? How're they all doing?

I think they are doing as well as can be expected considering everything that has been going on.

[Diarmuid takes another bite of cake and then smiles.]

I met a very sweet young boy while we were all off in the void. His name is Taiki. Have you ever met him? He kind of reminds me of Yotsuba. So kind and pure and somehow still able to survive in this terrible place...

Yeah, I think I saw him once. Back when we were all sharing information with each other at Reno's party. Are you thinking of adopting him too?

I suppose I already have as long as he will allow it.

[Diarmuid's expression becomes a bit more downcast as he remembers how upset Taiki had been when he found him in the graveyard after Jason's death.]

Recent events...have been very hard on him. He is a creature of peace and...there is very little peace here now.
