Aria and the other retrieval units stand guard in the room and regard each person who enters with a little bit of caution. The reason quickly becomes clear: Zo lies unconscious on a bed that appears to have been stolen from a hospital recovery room. With the glamour down, he looks spectral: it's possible to look through his body and to the bed beneath. He's not quite a ghost, though, as he can be interacted with.

If Zo is attacked, the retrieval units will be quick to retaliate. They can't help Zo on their own, though--so maybe there's something you can do...

As soon as Link begins to shake Zo, he's pulled painlessly through a barrier and brought to a small playroom. Zo is crouched in the center, facing away from Link, unmoving.

[zelfies]

Woah. Link took a look around the room as soon as it suddenly appeared around him. He approached Zo, circling around in front of him.

"Zo?"

Zo looks up, apparently startled. His eyes are like black tar, and the substance drips down his cheeks.

Link jumps back, cringing visibly. He's more on guard, but he approaches once again.

"You need to wake up."

[animusnpcs]

Zo hides his face--he seems aware of its strange appearance, at least. "I might hurt someone."

[zelfies]

Link blinks and pauses for a moment. Might hurt someone...?

"But we need you to wake up!"

[animusnpcs]

"What if I do something bad?" Zo looks very seriously concerned about this possibility, even if some of his emotion is lost without his usual eyes.

[zelfies]

"Bad things are happening either way," Link said simply, tipping his head slightly to the side and trying not to look repulsed at the appearance of Zo's face.

Trying.

"You have to get up. And help us stop them."

[animusnpcs]

"I don't want to make it worse." Zo looks down at his shoes again. "It's already pretty worse."

[zelfies]

"But you won't!" Link frowns, determined as he reaches out to rest his hands on Zo's shoulders.
