Setting: Floor 101
Format: Whatever floats your boat
Summary: It's the night before the infiltration. People are plotting, discussing, and Xion has brought a Dream Eater so those who want to try to get a good night's sleep have a marginally higher chance of doing so. So in short it's a Tower-flavored sleepover. Bring your own pillows.
Warnings: Nothing in the top level. Will try to edit if anything changes but if something comes up in one of your threads make sure to add a warning in the subject line

[Standard mingle post procedure. Make your top levels. Tag around. Have fun. Or not, this is Animus after all.

Notes will have been passed out and quiet discussion gone around by word of mouth, just saying that several people were spending the night in the hidden floor. Anybody who spoke to Xion would have been told that she's trying to figure out a way everybody can get a good night's sleep. You'll need to supply your own blankets and pillows but... hey, at least if you have trouble sleeping, you'll have company?

Note that any characters who sleep on the Hidden Floor, if they normally suffer from nightmares will likely have notably lessened or absent nightmares (up to your discretion) owing to the Dream Eater that Xion has brought with.]

[Veronica noticed Yukiko from her own spot against one of the walls. She wasn't likely to get much sleep either, so at least she might be able to chat?]

Hey. You... okay?

I'm kind of - no. Kind of is an understatement. I'm really nervous.

[As evidenced by her laugh. It's tense.]

I know I should get some rest, but I'm running over worst-case scenarios.

Yeah, I'm nervous too actually.

[Her own tone is a bit more serious, although she did smirk a little. Veronica found a spot beside Yukiko and sat.]

A lot of things could go wrong on this mission.

[Yukiko nods.]

Yeah, they could. We have so much information, and you'd think that would make me feel better, but instead it's a case of bringing up even more things that could go wrong.

And to make matters worse, this is a place some of us haven't gone into before.

[Her included. Noramlly she'd be more okay with doing something like this, but now...

Veronica rolled her shoulders thoughtfully.]

We should.... we should probably go in teams. Like, so everyone has someone's back.

Like me. I've - well, been in weird places before, but somehow that didn't scare me like this does. It's strange.

[That, she's absolutely okay with.]

That's a good call. It definitely helps, I think, knowing people have your back.

Heh, so have I.

[She had to smile a little, after everything back home, what happened here was only moderately surprising.]

Well, I've been though stuff similar to this before, so I'll know what to do in case there's trouble.

My magic's mostly back to normal now, which is kind of a relief. That first week without it sucked again, but at least it evens out reasonably well...

[What's left unsaid: after I died last month.]

It means I can heal, if anyone needs it. I hope I won't need to, but better safe than sorry.

My abilities are coming back too. I probably should have done the whole thing earlier.

[Getting killed, and Rick leaving, kind of pushed her in the right direction it seemed.]

It's better to be safe. I can fight just about anything if it comes to that.

[Or at least hold someone or something off.]

It's the second time around, for me. The part where everything's gone for a week does not get better the second time, but it's a little easier to deal with? If that makes sense.

[It hadn't even been a question for Yukiko.]

I hope it doesn't, but it's better to expect the best but prepare for the worst. I -

[She cuts off, there. It's like saying 'I don't want to see someone die for real' will jinx things.]

I guess if you just get it over with, it's easier.

...It wont come to that. I mean, I'll try my best to make sure it doesn't.

I think it is. It's a pain having to go through that first week, but it's easier to do it than it is to worry about what's going to happen.

[Less of a say and more of an immediate jump.]

Mm. I know we'll all do our best. It's a weird kind of fear of the unknown, with me. I know I'm getting all worked up over what might amount to nothing, but...yeah.

[If only Veronica had that much say back home.

She settled into her spot, laying her head against the wall behind her and letting out a sigh.]

It might be nothing, but maybe it wont be. We won't know for sure until we're actually down there.

[It was for that reason she was kind of scared too. She was still set on going though.]

There's no way to predict it. Not like anything like this can be predictable, I don't think.

[Yukiko leans forward a bit, folding her arms over her knees and resting her head.]

I'm going to - no. Hoping for nothing means excluding anything good we might find down there. I'll just hope for the best outcome we can get, whatever it might wind up being.

[And that no one has to take any drastic measures, but she doesn't say that out loud.]

Probably not.

[Veronica drew her legs up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them.]

...Yeah, hoping for the best is important. But whatever happens... happens I guess.

[Basically all she could say on that. She'd seen her fair share of bad outcomes.]

Yeah. Whatever happens, happens.

[Yukiko takes a long, deep breath.]

One way or another, things change tomorrow, that's for sure. We just need to be ready.

Try and, uh, get some rest I guess? We need to be awake and ready for what's coming.
