Sleepover before the storm
Characters: [OU] Xion, Excalibur, and whoever comes
Setting: Floor 101
Format: Whatever floats your boat
Summary: It's the night before the infiltration. People are plotting, discussing, and Xion has brought a Dream Eater so those who want to try to get a good night's sleep have a marginally higher chance of doing so. So in short it's a Tower-flavored sleepover. Bring your own pillows.
Warnings: Nothing in the top level. Will try to edit if anything changes but if something comes up in one of your threads make sure to add a warning in the subject line
======================
[Standard mingle post procedure. Make your top levels. Tag around. Have fun. Or not, this is Animus after all.
Notes will have been passed out and quiet discussion gone around by word of mouth, just saying that several people were spending the night in the hidden floor. Anybody who spoke to Xion would have been told that she's trying to figure out a way everybody can get a good night's sleep. You'll need to supply your own blankets and pillows but... hey, at least if you have trouble sleeping, you'll have company?
Note that any characters who sleep on the Hidden Floor, if they normally suffer from nightmares will likely have notably lessened or absent nightmares (up to your discretion) owing to the Dream Eater that Xion has brought with.]

[Grainne summons her Noble Phantasm cup into her hands, which fills with water almost immediately.]
The water from this cup can cause sleep in the ones who drinks from it. It can also cause a type of geis, though I save that for battle...
I also brought some tea I made from herbs if the cup bothers you. It does not work as well, but it does not require magic either.
[She smiles gently.]
I thought nerves would be high tonight.

What is a geis?

What my cup can do is exert a certain amount of control over the person it affects, so if anything, I could give you some water and order you to sleep, and you would have no choice but to fall asleep. I... suppose it depends on how desperate you are to accept it.

*Considering it frightens him. He's afraid of it, and afraid of his reaction to it. Has the tower so damaged his sense of autonomy that he would willingly give up his free will even for a moment? Or rather, has the tower made him so paranoid of losing his free will he won't even give it up for a moment to help him sleep?*
...But, I'd rather try the tea first.
*Best to simply try the tea. He can take the geis if it doesn't work.*

[And she does, really. It wouldn't have been her first pick of Noble Phantasms either, but she's had to work what she got.]
I'll get you some.
[And with that, she retreats to where she left the container she brought it in, pouring a cup. It's really too bad she couldn't find any honey in the Tower, that's the only thing missing.
When she comes back, she holds it out for him to take.]
I hope it's to your liking.

*He starts drinking it anyway; it's clear he's just trying to help calm his nerves with conversation.*

[She pauses, looking thoughtful.]
I am surprised more people do not use the herb floor.
no subject
But...*
"Herb floor"? Do you mean the farmland?

It could be inconveniently placed, or they could have their own stores? Or magic could do their work for them.
*He takes a sip of the tea then, the taste of herbs almost relaxing in and of itself.*

[A hand lifts to rub her cheek.]
Some of the poisonous ones will cross with other plants if placed too close together as well... and making medicines from them, they would have to know exactly what they were doing.
no subject
So you know your herbs very well, then. Is it a family trade?
no subject
A trade? Ah... it is something my parents insisted I learn so that if anything were to happen, I would at least have that skill I can trade. I studied under a druid for some years.
[She pauses, blushing slightly.]
Medicine is always needed. I also know how to spin and weave, but those things are not nearly as useful in a pinch.
no subject
Your parents were wise to suggest it. And... *A small yawn. It was probably the conversation taking his mind off things rather than the herbs kicking in, but it was working nonetheless.* ...it's appreciated.
