Sleepover before the storm

Setting: Floor 101
Format: Whatever floats your boat
Summary: It's the night before the infiltration. People are plotting, discussing, and Xion has brought a Dream Eater so those who want to try to get a good night's sleep have a marginally higher chance of doing so. So in short it's a Tower-flavored sleepover. Bring your own pillows.
Warnings: Nothing in the top level. Will try to edit if anything changes but if something comes up in one of your threads make sure to add a warning in the subject line

[Standard mingle post procedure. Make your top levels. Tag around. Have fun. Or not, this is Animus after all.

Notes will have been passed out and quiet discussion gone around by word of mouth, just saying that several people were spending the night in the hidden floor. Anybody who spoke to Xion would have been told that she's trying to figure out a way everybody can get a good night's sleep. You'll need to supply your own blankets and pillows but... hey, at least if you have trouble sleeping, you'll have company?

Note that any characters who sleep on the Hidden Floor, if they normally suffer from nightmares will likely have notably lessened or absent nightmares (up to your discretion) owing to the Dream Eater that Xion has brought with.]

[Diarmuid laughs, winking at his brother.]

But I also know that you enjoy fighting more than sneaking around...

[He joins in laughing, remembering to keep it quiet for the sleepers.]

Don't worry. I'm sure there'll be plenty to fight down there, even if we do have to sneak around. If anything, I'd play rear guard.

[Diarmuid nods in approval.]

Do you have any thoughts on what Riki might be up to?

...I'm not too sure about that. I know he likes the Tower, but what would he be using our energy to do, if not to keep the Tower around?

I figure he's planning on keeping it around. He just might not be planning on keeping us around as well.

[Diarmuid frowns as he thinks on this.]

Or some people have mentioned other Towers. I wonder if he might be trying to get to one of them to start over. But that wouldn't be the same as it being this Tower--his Tower--would it?

No, it wouldn't. Would he even be able to live in one of those Towers?

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

I don't know. This kind of theory crafting isn't something I'm good at. It's more up Waver's alley.

If we succeed and stop Riki, we wouldn't have to craft a theory, would we?

As long as we don't kill him. We need the things he knows.

[Diarmuid gives his brother a serious look.]

I don't know if it will be possible, but if this can be done without killing Riki, it should be.

[puppy_lancer]

Yeah, I don't quite feel like killing him either. Not yet, anyways. I'd leave him unless there's no other way.

If nothing else...can you imagine what would happen if Ruana took his powers like she took Dax and Jason's?

[Diarmuid has to hold back a shiver when he thinks of Ruana being in control of the whole Tower like Riki is.]

Because you know she would show up somehow...

[Even if she is suppose to be sleeping for a while longer.]

She'd be much more dangerous than she already is.

Guess we need to watch out not to wake her. She doesn't like being woken up before her time.

[Diarmuid frowns, thinking back to what had happened to his brother and their group when they had gone down before and run into Ruana. It had not been pretty.]

...You're not gonna get Waver to curl my hair if I do die, are you?

I don't know. It depends...

[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at his brother.]

If I say yes, will it make you try harder not to die?

Of course. I just got a girlfriend. I don't want her to catch me with silly hair.

[Diarmuid grins wickedly.]

Die and not only will we curl your hair, we will ask Asagi to help us.

Hey! Not fair!

[He reaches to cover his hair with his hands.]

She'll do more than just curl my hair!

She's mad at you again?

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

What did you do this time?

[puppy_lancer]

I haven't done anything...yet. But you know she'd be mad at me for dying again.

[oathshackledbird]

She would be and the rest of us would be too.

[Diarmuid reaches out and ruffles his brother's hair.]

So, do you know what you should do?

[puppy_lancer]

Oh yeah, I'm quite clear on that one.

...And you need to stay alive too. Or else I'll shave your head this time.

Brother if I die, I am going to have to worry about more than you shaving my head.

[Diarmuid seems like he is joking, but there is a bit of something in his eyes that hints maybe it's not completely a joke.]

Dying is the last thing I am going to do.

[puppy_lancer]

[He leans a little closer to his brother, as if sensing the gravity to Diarmuid's words.]

Good. I'm glad to hear that.

[Diarmuid nods and then drapes an arm over his brother's shoulders.]

How about getting some rest now? You are going to need it.
