[After a long, drawn out battle, the infiltration team returns to the residential portion of the Tower, weary, battered... but victorious. Some catching up is in order.]

[As soon as she'd started feeling better, Chidori had kicked Hecate into gear to get herself feeling back to normal as quickly as possible. It took a couple of short naps, but by the time everyone began coming back, she at least feels up for healing someone other than herself.

So she'll be heading around to as many of the returning people as she can, looking them over carefully before asking in a surprisingly unassuming manner-]

Are you still hurt at all?

[He's not one of the returning people, and he knows that Chidori can sense him from a mile away, but Ken creeps up behind her and gives her a hug, lifting her a bit before setting her down gently.]

Hi.

[Don't mind him grinning like an idiot.]

[dhsgkfsf you are so lucky she can sense it's you Ken, otherwise there would be such fire--! She does her best not to flail, and instead waits until she's back on the ground to swat lightly at his arm.]

You're in a good mood.

[He laughs a little bit.]

How are you feeling?

[She smiles at him, light and careful, moving her hand from his arm to pat his cheek.]

A little hopeful, for once.

Me too. We're going to be okay.

[He lets her go and moves in front of her. Things will be all right. They can do this.]

It's looking like we might be.

[She bumps her shoulder against his.]

Fingers crossed, right?

That's right. And we'll keep making our own luck.

You sound like Minato.

[And coming from Chidori, that's one of the highest compliments a person can get.]

[He knows. And looking back on things, her crush is a little obvious.]

[Honestly, how no one ever noticed is a little beyond her, all things considered.]

It's true, you know.

[She smiles earnestly for once, leaning her cheek against his.]

You've grown up a lot. I'm proud of you.

[... He blushes a bit and looks down.]

Ah... you think so? ... Thanks.

I wouldn't say it if I didn't.

[She chuckles a bit, quietly, then reaches up to ruffle his hair slightly.]

You'll always be my little brother though, no matter how tall you get.

[Well she certainly was a sight for sore eyes. He grins right back, wiping away whatever is left of dried blood.]

No I'm fine. I just need a nap. [A pause.] Or two.

[The dried blood makes her brows rise in that silent 'really now?' way she has, before she raises a hand to his cheek, shaking her head and heaving a quiet sigh.

A moment later, her head falls against his chest, and her fingers tighten in his shirt.]

...I'm glad you're alright.

[He doesn't complain despite the pain from the bruises. Besides, having her by his side is comforting in itself. Idly, he puts his hands behind her neck and plays with her hair.]

I'm glad you are too. Did you get into any trouble?

[Cause he certainly had.]

No more than necessary.

[Except for messing with Sephiroth, but u kno. Still, he can't hide the pain from her, and the hand curled in his shirt glows faintly as Hecate starts fixing him up.]

Please tell me this excursion was worth it.

Well, we learned that Riki is ass...but we also did win against whatever he threw at us.

[He closes his eyes for a minute as the gentle warmth of the healing spell powers him.]

That means he's beatable.

[Idly, he touches the brooch resting at the end of the necklace.]

Wither my theory is right or not still remains to be seen...

[Minato looks simply so tired. His wounds and pain was healed, but it's obvious that he's been in an battle or two. But despite it all, and how much he wants to crash into his dorm and sleep, there's a small, unguarded smile on his face.

Only for it to disappear when he pauses with a blink, before realising who's talking.]

...No. Just tired from a trip.

[And what a trip it was.]

Some trip.

[The smile isn't something she's used to seeing from her Minato- so seeing it on this one is a strange sort of dissonance. Part of her wilts slightly when it disappears, but she shakes her head slightly, offering a hand.]

I can help, if you'd like.

[Not a lot, but enough that he might not pass out for the next couple of days to recover.]

It was.

[He was still a little surprised by how it went. Being trapped or set up was what he was expecting, but to think all of them survived in the end.

He blinks at her offer, before his smile returns and he accepts her hand.]

I would like that, Chidori-san.

[He could walk back by himself, but he won't turn down someone accompanying him.]

[She nods, taking his hand gingerly and leading him along- and if he pays attention, he may notice that he suddenly starts feeling better as they walk- lighter. A little less tired even.]

I heard things downstairs were... surprising. They went well though, I hope?

[He notice it clearly, as being tired is nothing new to him. The only sign he shows for it is his smile growing a little bigger.]

Yes. We secured the machine that can possibly restore our worlds with no casualties on our team. However, Riki's against us.

[He can mention the details, but that should cover the basics. It's been a while since he made a basic report, huh.]

Ah, well... there really wasn't ever much to go on to believe he was on our side, I suppose.

[The widening of his smile makes her feel, for a moment, better- like there's something they can do to win after all. She almost smiles back, but instead squeezes his hand and pushes a little more energy into him, with Hecate chiding her all the while.]

...I'm glad no one was lost. There has been too much of that as is.

Yes. He may have his own reasons, but his general approach doesn't inspire any faith.

[Among other things, such as how he disguise the reason why he need energy from them. If Riki's more upfront about his motives, he probably won't get as many volunteers, but the relationship between residents and administrators won't be as strained. He lightly squeezes her hand back in response.]

Same. They might get revived afterwards...but we can't afford to waste any time.

[Especially when revivals seems to be taking longer than normal.]
