[After a long, drawn out battle, the infiltration team returns to the residential portion of the Tower, weary, battered... but victorious. Some catching up is in order.]

[ ... If he did come back from it alive once, then it didn't invariably mean death. But she didn't feel nip-ticky enough to point this out to him. ]

Interesting.

[ There probably wouldn't be any more infiltration so he had a point. Thought the way he was speaking... ]

Are you still allowing yourself into despair?

[ Like she saw him last time. There was probably some sort of cosmic irony at accusing Sephiroth of sinking into despair. ]

[He's only just woken up from something much more than just a nap, not that he'd use that as an excuse.

He could go on, of course, about how Ganondorf's mission had been to take over the Tower but it all became -eventually- irrelevant when the countdown had started. Sephiroth's calling, which led to the months of research on the collar fluid, had led him astray from that goal. He hadn't forgotten, yet didn't spend much time thinking about how he would have used said accomplishment as a stepping stone to obtain his long-sought Destiny. There had been so much more to think about, to theorize on.]

That's a heavy question to ask.

[He peers at Hilda as if she might have a dirty smudge on her face or something. Indeed, as one who had expertly used the despair of others as a weapon in his own arsenal both back on his homeworld and here in the Tower, it has been already noted several times in this ironic karmic retribution of sorts. But for the most part, apart from needing at least a day of sleep to get over the drain from the chips, Sephiroth is feeling much more like himself than the last time they had spoken.]

I'm not one to be so swallowed up by it as easily as all that. [Not that he's demonstrated that very strongly to Hilda at all though.] Only it's not relevant anymore as it seems the fight might well be coming to us; invasion is an act of war.
