[Funny that Xion says this place looks familiar, because the more Diarmuid looks at it, the more it seems familiar to him as well. However, he cannot place it until Shion names it.

Midgar, of course. Which means...]

Reno!

[Shion's shout cuts into Diarmuid's thoughts and he begins scanning the area for his red-headed brother. A wave of relief washes over him when the man steps out into sight.]

Good to see you in one piece, Reno. I still owe you for those shoulder punches...

[Hopefully, a little humor will help lighten up what is otherwise a very gloomy situation...]

Reno [Shion's second call is quieter as tears threaten to choke him. He leaned into Reno's hug, it was strange since Reno wasn't solid but he was there, it was enough. For now.] I'm so glad we found you.

[As much as Reno had hesitated, Xion doesn't. The pipe she's using to help hold herself up falls to the ground as she all but throws herself into Reno's hug.]

Dad!

[She clings to him tightly, not crying like Shion is but still so so happy. This was right. It felt right, and she felt maybe a little more solid. A little more real.]

[Reno holds on for a bit longer, only raising one hand to shoot a rude gesture at Waver and Diarmuid, though the effect is rather lost with the mischief and, well, just plain relief in his eyes.

Yeah, he might cry if they're not careful, too.]

[Geez, Reno, bad jokes? At a time like this?]

What the hell happened?! How did you guys get here? Last I remember Riki was downstairs and then I heard some voice and a while light. Did we beat the bitch?

Xion killed Riki [There is very obvious pride in his voice, he has the bravest most awesome little sister in all the universes, and everyone should know] But Ruana got angry and locked us all up, except I was dead but I came back into a cell. [He's rambling but he's so relieved at finding Reno] There was a timer and when it finished the power went out and there was a portal, we came through it and found you.

I didn't- [Xion can't help but protest. The most she'd done down there was distract him!]

Riku and Minato and the others did. I just helped get him down there.

[She pulls back though, her face falling a little as the aftermath comes floating to the surface of her mind]

Ruana got angry at us about it, though, when she came down for him. For "breaking her toys," after she "saved us." We argued with her, but she... she got different, angrier than I've ever seen her.

She said she'd "show us" all.

It may just be we are showing her too...with Zo's help. We aren't going to let her pull us apart. We will fight until our last breaths...together.

[Diarmuid finally makes his way over to Reno...and flicks him in the forehead.]

Watch those gestures, you. There are Professors and kids present. You will scandalize them.

[AKA: It's good to have you back, Reno.]

Hey, he can be as pissed off as he bloody well pleases. God knows I'd be throwing a fucking fit, sitting on an asteroid.

Anyway, Reno. That's the situation best as we can describe it. My guess is we need to get everyone together and go beat the shit out of Ruana. Are you coming or what?

[Something in Reno's eyes lights up. A predatory, gleeful look that fits far too well in the feel of Midgar.]

You're kidding, right? [The words sound disbelieving, but his attitude is nothing but drive.] I got a few bones to pick with her.

[And then he glances around at the corpses around them; not as many as one would think in a city this size, and some covered in black ooze, but the point is pretty clear.]

[Shion smiled and reached out to take Reno's hand, feeling the threatening darkness recede a little bit. Reno was here, it would be alright, they would beat Ruana.] Let's go then. [Easier said than done, he wasn't sure how to get out of this world.]

[Lancer had been quiet, letting the children have some time with their father. Now, he pats Reno on the back.]

Glad to know you're with us, bro.

Is there anything you need to finish here, Reno?

[Joking done now, Diarmuid grows more serious.]

Otherwise, we need to start looking for the next portal. Now that we have found you, I think it will only be a matter of time until one opens. That is what happened on the last world we were on anyway.

[Hopefully, the pattern will hold true here...]

[Reno's voice suddenly changes, taking on a sharp edge that he'd never used before, at least around them.]

You guys are in wireframes... from the Tower. Before we start lookin' for another portal, we got a stop to make first.

Huh?

[That tone certainly does catch her attention, and she pauses, in the act of trying to reach down and grab the pipe she's been using to help walk without falling over.]

What do you mean?

[More than anything, she's confused. It seemed to have something to do with them being wireframes, but... what could it be? And why did he sound so harsh about it]

No shit we are. What of it?

[Waver folded his arms, confused by Reno's tone.]

And where are we going?

Reno? [That's his suspicious, what are you plotting now Dad voice.

His voice is worrying and he reaches over to help support Xion whilst she grabs her pole.]

[Diarmuid is as confused as the others are when it comes to Reno's sudden declaration. What is he planning?]

Is there something you need to do here?

[And what does it have to do with them still being in their wireframe bo--

Wait a minute...]

We're traveling...and we are more than just souls...

[Shooting Diarmuid a wicked half-smirk, Reno nods.]

Exactly. C'mon. It isn't far, but it might be a walk...

[He hesitates, then looks to Xion, frowning for a moment. The decision comes quickly, and he reaches to pick her up.]

Maybe we can get something real good for your leg, too, Sweets.

Sounds interesting. Which way are we going?

[Lancer is curious about what Reno wants to do with their wireframe bodies.]

[Xion, only halfway back up from straightening herself back upright, makes a noise of surprise as she's scooped up.

It isn't the first time he's picked her up though, and she doesn't fight or struggle, waiting until she's secure before speaking up]

We think it's a sprain. ['We' meaning 'Shion's assessment'] I'm not sure we can just... fix it, can we?

We can get bandages, proper ones that will support it right. [Shion is glad Reno picked her up, she really shouldn't be putting weight on it] Medication if it's survived, which will help the pain at least.

[Diarmuid's confusion expression suddenly shifts to a happy one.]

We will probably be able to do more than that if I am guessing what Reno is up to correctly...

[He turns a wide grin on his brother.]

You know where there's a storehouse nearby, don't you? Since we have forms and aren't just souls, we should be able to take whatever we can carry back with us. Medical supplies, weapons...

[Real things to help give them an edge in the fight with Ruana...]

You guys never got to see my playground.

[The smirk on his face widened, turning downright bloodthirsty.]

Let me introduce you to my very own stash of Shinra's finest.

[Shifting Xion in his arms, he starts walking down one of the narrow, destruction filled streets. It's... odd, in a way, since the warehouse he is taking them to is the one that he had been in when the 'virus' had invaded this universe... going back to the beginning.

At any rate, he's glad he got the door opened. With stuff the way it is, he'd hate having to try to power it somehow.

For anyone who's following, the walk is pretty short; five to ten minutes at tops.]

[Reno... sometimes you look frightening. Shion followed quietly and his mouth dropped open when he saw the warehouse.]

This will help a lot... if we can get it through a portal...
