[Romeo looked at the weapons, he only had his foil makeshift knife and that wouldn't be enough. He picked up a couple of swords, they were all so long he couldn't move them at all.

He frowned, trying to think of something he could use despite being smaller than almost everyone else going.]

Oh no ya don't.

[Reno frowns at the kid and places hands on his hips.]

Where do ya think you're going, Romeo? You're not going to fight Ruana, are ya?

[Romeo blinks at him, his face stubborn. He had known it would happen eventually, but he had decided and he's an adult now, he won't let them stop him] I am.

[midgarhorizon]

Romeo, with what training?

[Reno has his limits, and the kid is too young, even by Gaian standards.]

Tell me you got a plan or something.

[myblueskies]

I've been training lots. [He glares at Reno] Ken's been teaching me.

[midgarhorizon]

[Reno folds his arms and thinks about that for a bit.]

Yeah?

[Stop glaring at him he's just worried.]

All right. Stay there.

[He moves to pick up the smallest sword-- more like a large dagger, really-- about right for Romeo's size, and then unbuckles his own utility belt with ethers and such in the pockets. He doesn't give it directly to Romeo, instead he just tries to buckle it on the kid himself, making sure the protective parts fit right.]

You use these when you need 'em. The red ones heal and restore mana, the blue ones just mana, and then you got the ones with the yellow top that just heals. Best way is to drink them, but if you got someone going down you rip the top off and throw it at them, the bottle'll do the rest. You help the others out there and keep back, kiddo.

[Romeo blinks, if it's Reno's things won't Reno need them, he looks at the bottles and back to Reno in confusion] What is mana? Don't you need these? I don't want you to get hurt!

[midgarhorizon]

Nah, I don't. 'Sides I can make up another one. Now listen. You try to stay back and help out the others. I'm not gonna say don't fight at all because you'll probably be on the front line at some point. We're going to need support, and that's what these bottles are for. If ya see someone getting too hurt to fight, you use these on them.

[He points to one style of bottle.]

If someone's castin' a lot of magic and they suddenly can't, you use these.

[Pointing to another, he gives Romeo a serious look.]

If someone's situation is pretty dire all around, ya use this one.

[And he points to the last type of bottle, checking to make sure Romeo's got it.]

You keep people from dying. I wouldn't trust just anyone with this.

[Romeo listened very carefully, watching what bottles Reno pointed at carefully and remembering what he said they did.

It was a big job, stopping people from dying and Romeo nodded solemnly. It was a scary thing to have been given such a task but it was important and he could do it, he could make sure that everyone lived.]

I'll make sure I do it right, sir.
