This isn't the Green Sun
Characters: Aradia Megido (OU) + open
Setting: Room 2-03, floor three, floor four or anywhere in-between - just note where you're finding her
Format: Starts in prose but will match comments
Summary: This is not where she expected to end up
Warnings: None.
Aradia had always known that using Noir as a map to the Green Sun would be risky, but nowhere in any of her thoughts had there been the possibility that it would cause her to fall asleep again (at least, she was assuming that was the case) and wake up somewhere entirely different.
Still, she was used to the game throwing weird twists of fate at her. And once she read the notes, even as she wasn't sure how this tied in with what she'd been doing before, she was more than convinced that arguing the matter probably wasn't going to help.
Instead, she decided to make a start on exploring. The first and second floors held little interest; the third, however, caught her attention enough that she spent some time browsing the shelves, making note of the many volumes that appeared to offer interesting reading material. And when she reached the fourth, the vastness of the view around her was enough to convince her that perhaps it would be okay to sit here for a while.

No big, I was just curious. There's an Earth legend about the goddess Aradia, and I recognized Eridan's symbol, so I've been wondering where the connection is.
no subject
Eridan...at the bottom? That can't be right; Sea Dwellers are royalty...at least, in the timeline I come from.
[Yes, blame it on timeline shenanigans. She understands those]
Oh...well, technically I'm a goddess now...and technically we made Earth...a version of, anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if aspects of our world influenced yours.
no subject
[Her eyes go wide.] Really? That's-- kinda crazy. What'd you do to become a goddess? [Since Willow is pretty sure the differences in how Earth was formed is more 'alternate reality stuff'.]
no subject
[And more giggling at that question]
Well the short answer is, I died. But there's a lot more to it than that...did Eridan ever mention SGRUB to you...assuming he even played it? Maybe that's something else that's different, I don't know.
no subject
No, he never mentioned that, but we didn't go into too many details about his world. You don't have to tell the whole thing if you don't want-- I don't mean to bring up bad memories. [Willow just assumes that memories of dying would be bad, and the whole thing leading up to it probably would be, too.] You just got here and everything. I should be giving you the lowdown, not interrogating you, [she adds, a little apologetic.]
no subject
[She shakes her head at Willow's concern] No, it's okay. I don't mind talking about it, I just didn't want to bore you with details you might have heard before.
[Although explaining this might get pretty weird considering this is Aradia]
Well, we were playing this game...SGRUB. It's pretty complicated but the important bit for now is that there are levels called the God Tier levels. Normally you're supposed to achieve it by dying on your Quest Bed while you still have a dream self - that is, another version of yourself that the game spawns on one of the two dream moons.
Anyway, that's how it's normally done, but since I was dead before I entered the game I couldn't do that. But my dream self was asleep on her Quest Bed, deep within Derse's moon, and when that was destroyed I awoke like this. Which...I'm still getting used to. But it's not a bad thing to be getting used to.
no subject
Not bored-- promise. I don't think anything about trolls could be boring. [Pretty much every detail she heard had been chock full of crazy, otherworldly facts, exactly like Aradia went on to account. Willow listened intently, frowning just slightly as she tried to process details and put pieces together.]
Sounds like really complicated Jumanji involving dreams. Nice job on the power up, though?
no subject
[She can't help but be a little surprised but happily so as Willow said she couldn't be bored - for Aradia, trolls were the standard so she sort-of forgets other people might not be used to what she's used to.
And that they know of things she doesn't]
Jumanji? What's that?
no subject
[Given that Willow was practically a walking encyclopedia of random facts on all topics, when she encounters something she doesn't know about, she gets very interested.
She also likes sharing her random facts, and pop culture. Like here, where she perks up.] It's a movie about this board game where whatever you do happens in reality. It's pretty whack, which makes it excellent for late night watching with friends.
no subject
[Which of course means she wants to see what happens when someone tells him.]
Oh! That sounds a bit like SGRUB, only it was a video game not a board game. And SGRUB wasn't a movie...but apart from that.
no subject
Hence complicated dream Jumanji. --Oh, I wonder if there's movies here! I didn't check on that, but I could totally use a movie night.
no subject
[Her expression brightens at the mention of movie night]
Oh I'd love that! I really hope they have movies here...I'm not sure what I'd do if I could never watch Troll Indiana Jones again.
no subject
... Troll Indiana Jones? You think they have that? [She looks undeniably interested.] We definitely need to check this out, stat.
[Willow clears her throat and speaks in a very obviously fake pompous voice.] Miss Aradia Fairytroll, would you do me the pleasure of joining me on an excursion in pursuit of movies for our prospective movie night?
no subject
Wait, you know Troll Indiana Jones? I didn't think humans had our movies!
[And that invitation has her giggling again as she fights to adopt the same sort of tone - something which doesn't come too naturally for her but still]
I, Miss Aradia Fairytroll - actually, Megido, but I like Fairytroll better - I would be more than delighted to accept your kind invitation to join you on your excursion.
no subject
[Okay, this is getting a little academic and speculative, which Willow is all for except for that part where she really, really wants to go see what movies the tower has. If any.
Having substantial practice with silly voices, Willow's answer back is self-assured and confident.] Miss Fairytroll it is, then. Let us stand and be on our way, for movies are surely a treasure that will win glory to our names. [Duly standing up as she says this.]
no subject
Actually, I'm not sure. I mean, we made Earth but I doubt it's impossible to consider that Earth had some influence on us even before it apparently existed. Wouldn't be the weirdest paradox I've encountered.
[Being Maid of Time, time shenanigans were pretty easy to accept as a reason for pretty much anything.
She's also a sucker for anything resembling an adventure]
Yes, let's! We will scour the temple and find the sacred Movies of the Otherworlds.

[Walking along toward the central staircase--] I think I saw a floor that has a bunch of TVs in it. We should start there. It's way up top, though. They seriously need to install an elevator for us wingless types.
no subject
Well, it goes back to the game I was telling you about, SGRUB. That was actually the point of the game, to make a new world to live on after Alternia was destroyed. Actually there was a bunch of other stuff we had to do too, but that was the ultimate aim.
[She can't help but giggle at the elevator comment] Or those of us who are still getting used to having wings. I'm actually surprised there isn't anything like that.
no subject
This whole tower is a discombobulated mess, so who knows? [She giggles a little back. Talking to someone with the same sense of humor as her, and who's this nice, is putting Willow in a really good mood.] How long have you had your wings, if you're still adjusting?
no subject
[More giggles] So I'm starting to find out. I think one thing we can safely rule out is any form of logic to why the floors are as they are or why they're in that order or anything of the sort.
[She ponders that last question a moment] Not very long at all, really. I'd only just woken up with them...I suppose this is what happens when you try to travel via a demon.
no subject
Logic? Is that supposed to be a thing now? [she agrees jokingly.] I thought we were on "random mish-mash of horrors".
Okay, I could've told you that one. Demon plus travel? Usually does not work out as expected. Just, going on what I've read from texts. You seem like you're doing pretty well with them so far, though! Demon aside.
no subject
Random mish-mash of horrors sounds a lot more likely. Usually logic can be found somewhere but sometimes the logic is just "because it can".
[She gives a wry smile at that] Well, it sort of made sense at the time. He was powered by the Green Sun, that was where I needed to get to, I just didn't account for random tower. But you have demons on Earth?
no subject
Sometimes the logic is more like, whimsical suggestion. I know how that goes.
Oh, do we ever. Maybe other Earths don't, but mine? I live on top of a portal to hell. Demon party central.
no subject
[Because now you've got her curious]
Wow. That doesn't sound like it would be much fun. Unless, I mean, is there such a thing as a nice demon?
no subject
There is such a thing as a nice demon, but they aren't the ones that throw the parties. It tends to be way less fun and more insanely dangerous wacky hijinks. With a lot of, it's Thursday, I hope I don't get killed until I get to take that test tomorrow in math thrown in, but that was probably just me.
[They're still climbing the stairs and are presumably almost at the media level by now...]
