Alone in the D/The Thunder Rolls

Summary: Power's out, and Shou has night-vision goggles. Also he finds the the storm fascinating.
Warnings: Possibly ghost run-ins!


Floor Four

[After the broadcast, Shou was heading back upstairs to check on the others when he got rather caught up in watching the storm outside. After all, watching the rain is a hardboiled thing to do, right?]

Dorms

[Shou's going from room to room, checking on others there, using the DenDen Sensor to navigate the dark hallways. Bless Philip for putting this thing together, even it seemed silly at the time.]

[Appears the blond next to the detective at the window.] Did you see something outside?

Watching the storm.

[A moment after he says this, a rather vicious lightning strike happens, followed by a fittingly loud crack of thunder.]

[Ven jumped at the thunder crack, mostly because he hadn't been expecting it, before recollecting himself. He looked out the window for a moment.]

...Why?

Just...something I've liked to do from time to time.

Bad as it looks out there, it's at least a change from the usual dreary look.

[Molly is in her room, on her bed, curled up]

[She didn't like the dark]

[The dark meant something bad was going to happen]

[So for now, she's not gonna move, just hide under the covers]

[Shoutarou peeks in the room with goggles on, and spots the mass in the bed.]

Molly, you awake?

Yeah I'm awake [said in a small voice, one that is trying to sound brave] Can you turn the lights back on?

[The request brought forth a sigh - mostly annoyance at himself for not being able to do anything.]

I'm afraid not. I'd like to, though.

Fourth Floor

[ And doth an angel appears, in all his trenchcoated glory, watching the storm as well. If Shoutarou were to look carefully, he could make out the silhouette of huge wings emerging from Castiel's back whenever the lightning strikes. ]

[Shoutarou looks over, and lightning flahes as he does, allowing him to see the silhouetted wings.]

[He stumbles back, looking rather gobsmacked.]

...you weren't kidding about the angel part.

[ Which is of course, the standard greeting from the angel. ]

[Cornet, surprisingly, did the sensible thing of going to her room when the power went out. ...sure, it was to fetch Ledgem in preparation of going out again later, but she gets at least at few common sense points, right?

When Shou shows up, she'll be sitting on her bed next to a rather large stuffed rabbitish looking thing, idly chatting with it about the black out.

The rabbit doesn't seem to be answering back, which is probably the stranger part of the situation.]

[She gets those common sense points, but they kinda go flying off the top floor of the tower when Shou sees her talking to a stuffed rabbit.]

[Shoutarou's gonna stare a bit, then will speak up.]

[--oh woah hi Shou. Cornet snaps to attention, looking a bit chagrined.]

..Perfectly fine, hi there!

[Shoutarou looks at Cornet, then the stuffed animal, then back again.]

...you sure?

[She's kinda talking to a stuffed bunny-thing. And while she's young, Shou didn't think she was -that- young.

DORMS - it took me forever to decide to do this

So, everything was fine. Roxas was taking his skateboard out for a spin and enjoying himself. Then out went the lights. So, what does one do? ...keep going, obviously!

Especially if you can't see that half-boiled guy standing down the corridor and you are going at a pretty decent speed. Without a helmet.

TOOK YA LONG ENOUGH YA BUM. :|

[Said half-boiled guy is sadly facing the other way, face buried in goggles, and oblivious to the sound of an incoming teenager.]

<sub>...okay so that's a wall...and...

[THATS A PERSON CRASHBOOM, have a teenage male smashed in to your ribcage, Shou. The skateboard kept going a few feet even after Rox clonked to the ground, landing funny on his leg and overall being quite flaily.

Luckily nobody could see that embarrassing mess except, you know, denden sensor and all.]</sub>

[ She dislikes thunderstorms. And the one currently showering its wrath on the tower was the worst one she's ever encountered, only because the power was out and she can't see well in the dark.

But she grits her teeth and feels her way back to her room, being very painfully aware of her surroundings. ]

[Shoutarou spots someone up ahead, and so he doesn't startle them too much, he speaks up.]

Hey, it's Shoutarou - [While he hasn't met everyone necessarily, he's been a fairly active person - he assumes that they may have at least heard his name.] - I'm about twenty feet ahead of you.

[ the voice doesn't sound hostile, and so Spain calls out. ]

[Nope, just Shou muttering about the situation.]

[The voice makes him turn.] Who's the--AUGH! [There's the sound of stumbling feet as Shou moves back a bit, pulling the goggles away and rubbing his eyes. Light sources and night-vision are a bad combination.]
