haha I never put log titles unless it's idiots abound part whatever

Characters: Waver and open
Setting: Room 1-16/hallways, floors 45, 19, 14
Format: Starting with action but I can match
Summary: 7am waking up in the morning gotta explore the tower
Rating: Uhhhh should be pretty PG
Warnings: Nothing really...

Room 1-16 / hallway

[As soon as Waver is able to move, he jumps up from the bed, desperately looking around. He's also sure to check his right hand, but as there's nothing there, he quickly sees the last few days of calm weren't anything like a dream.

After noticing the letters and reading them over twice, he sets them aside. What's written there can't possibly be true, nothing could destroy the entire world so suddenly. Knowing that is a relief, but, he's still trapped somewhere unfamiliar. He quickly finds his trunk and the contents, swapping that awful bodysuit for a good sensible set of clothes immediately. ...And, underneath those, a book. He bends down to pick it up and turns it over to read the title. The Iliad, that same new but worn out copy. After thinking on it for a moment, he goes back to his bed and sets it under the pillow. That's what Alexander was said to have done, after all, right?]

Floor 45

[An observatory, that's perfect! He can get a good look at what lies outside the tower, maybe even spot where there might be somewhere to get outside. He stands up against the window, placing his hands on it to steady himself as he tries to look out.

He sighs.]

Nothing but clouds, huh...that's useless...

[As he begins to look up again, he shouts, falling backwards and trying to scramble away from the creature which had been face-to-face with him. Even though he was only just pressed up against the glass himself, he's completely forgotten it's there between them and can only stare in horror at the thing staring straight back at him.]

Floor 19

[After exploring the tower, Waver returns to the library. He wants to get through as much as he can right away, but with the size of the library, and there being two, even he knows it will have to be done over a period of time, not all in one sitting. Even so, he goes down the aisles, scanning for anything that looks like like it might contain relevant information. Anything which might give a better understanding of the tower and its intents. If he's especially lucky - maybe a book on magic which he might use to escape.

Going between the rows of shelves with a pile of books in his arms, stacked up to his chin, which he rests on them to keep the precarious stack stead, suddenly he notices something. The section clearly marked 'history' is entirely empty - the section which was sure to be most useful to him. Several books from the top fall from his stack as he whips around to be sure it hasn't simply moved over to the next shelf, or that his eyes are otherwise playing tricks on him. And then he throws the others down, shaking his head and gripping his it with both hands.]

Aah, what the hell?! You're kidding me, right?! Hey, someone forgot to put the books away, you can't just leave a whole section empty...!

Floor 14

[Through the stress of the day, around the time that would be called 'after dinner', Waver heads back to his room and slips a game into the front of his sweater (first checking no one will see, of course). He then goes down to the media room and finds a good corner to wind down and set up Admirable War Tactics.]

Tohko sighed. "I see..but you know, I don't think killing people is going to make others respect you." After all, people who tried that in stories were usually feared or killed themselves. They were never respected.

"Oh, sorry. When you mentioned that you were in something like that, I thought you took a combative role. I guess I was wrong." Tohko apologized, scratching her head.

"But you can see that being involved in that war probably wouldn't help you be respected by most people."
tohko_amano: (puzzled)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Tohko pondered over all this information. A combative role that didn't involve killing, a war that had masters and servants, where only servants killed, and all for a wish-granting device. What a weird world. However..if only servants were supposed to fight, then why did the masters? Did the masters like the rush of battle that much? And why did the servants help out? Were they tied to their masters by magic?

Tohko sighed and helped Waver gather a few books from the floor. "It does matter, if people are going to remember you. After all, people just don't focus on your end goal-they also look at what you did to get to it. And why can't they know the details?"

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
"How can you hide a magical war for a wish-granting device? And if it's a war, why are people worried about positions?" Tohko asked, puzzled. This war really didn't make much sense. Some aspects of it did, but then there were other major things that got to her.

Tohko sighed, trying to understand. She understood that the grail was the wish-granting device, but it being sentient? And if this grail was the same one that Tohko was thinking of, then this was pretty weird.

"Hang on here. By grail, are you talking about the Holy Grail? And even if only a few people are chosen for this war, that still doesn't explain why people don't notice it or the magic being flung around? And who covers up this war? This Magus Organization? Why?" Tohko sighed.

First a woman that had connections to a modern-day Knights of The Round Table group back at her home world, and now this..

Tohko noticed the jump. "Hey, are you feeling alright?"

She then scratched her head as she took in this new information. Normally, she would point out that the 'holy grail' was just an ordinary wooden cup, as Jesus was dirt poor and couldn't afford a golden, expensive cup. However, maybe this world was a bit different in that regard. Interesting.

"I see. I think I understand..but why is the church involved? Wouldn't they want the grail all to themselves? And it's a little sad that you guys alter and erase the memory of whoever gets caught up in your fights."

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, I see. Weren't supposed to talk about the grail?" Tohko chuckled. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to."

Tohko then smiled. "I see. I think I get it now. Even though I don't like the idea of altering with or messing with memories, you're a pretty good person, Waver."
tohko_amano: (happy)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
Tohko nodded. "Of course! After all, most people wouldn't have admitted that they altered someone's memory, but you did it up front. That's pretty honest of you." She then chuckled.

"Well, I'd be a pretty poor book girl if I couldn't follow something like this. And I would appreciate it if you didn't alter my memory. I have some things in here that are very important to me." Tohko tapped her head to get the point across. Besides, if he went poking through her memories, he might discover that she was a book eater.

"Well, that was pretty nice of him..but why didn't you just go live with your grandfather? Were they too far away from the city?"
tohko_amano: (concerned)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
Tohko sighed. So he claimed he told her just to show off his talent, huh? She didn't quite buy it, to be honest. While he seemed pretty determined to be remembered for some reason-maybe his family had told him he was worthless?-he didn't sound like the type of person who just said things like that to show off.

"Which that's nice, it would be a pain for me to have to meet you all over again. And it'd be kind of sad for you. Come to think of it..how do you erase memories anyway? With magic?"

At the last sentence, Tohko sighed again and looked a little sad. "I'm sorry to hear that. I know my words don't mean much, but I know what it's like to lose family, and it hurts."

So that's why he had to manipulate that old couple's memories. He had lost his parents and the rest of his family, and his grandfather, the only remaining person left, was too far away to help.
tohko_amano: (happy)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
Tohko smiled. "Almost everything can be a precious memory, if you think about it hard enough. And I suppose it could..but you might also be able to do it with drugs or technology. It depends on where you come from and what you know."

Tohko nodded. "Well, that's good. Hopefully you'll do well in school. What are you learning?"
tohko_amano: (excited)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Tohko grinned, a little bit at the wink, but mostly at the idea of a magic school.

"That's pretty awesome! The closest thing we have back home to magic is technology and stories. While I love stories, it's not quite the same thing as using magic. Although..I guess it's a private school, since magic is supposed to be kept secret."

Things like that tended to happen with magical schools in stories.

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
Tohko frowned. "While some great stories are realistic and don't have any magic, without magic in stories, you wouldn't get the warm, apricot wine that is The Master and Margarita, the cold creamsicle that is Prince Prigo, or the the bitter BLT on rye bread that is Magic Or Madness!"

Tohko was a book girl. While she loved Sherlock Homes and Lupin, she also loved fantasy stories.

Tohko nodded at that. "That makes sense. What did you do to convince them?"
