Hacking #05: Cold days

Setting: Floor 13, Floor 32 and Floor 1.
Format: Brackets to start with, but I can match you!
Summary: In which April is a bit of a grump about the cold, but also kinda glees and plays about in the snow. And also makes food.

[Floor 13]
[With how cold it was getting lately, April really needed to have something more warm to wear. Her trenchcoat was good at keeping her warm most of the time, but she definitely needed more than that. Which is why she's sitting in the workshop and attempting to make a scarf. Except she isn't too good with a needle, due to how she keeps stabbing herself.]

Ow! Ugh, dammit... Stupid cold... [Doesn't stop her from continuing to try to make one though. Despite how she keeps stabbing herself with a needle.]

[Floor 32]
[April had only really wandered to this floor to get some food. But when she sees the snow falling, she really, really can't resist going to play around in it for a while. It never snowed back home, which is why she's gonna make the most of it now.

So anyone that ventures to this floor will find one April attempting to build a snowman. And failing a bit as she tries to keep it from falling over.]

[Floor 1]
[And once she does finally get around to hunting for food, she can later be found cooking in the cafeteria. It seems like she was able to catch an animal of some kind, since there's some meat cooking on top of the stove, and thanks to having stored some of it away a while ago, she's sipping on tea of some kind as she cooks. She's glad that they can have hot water, at least. And right now, having some kind of hot food sounds good too. And April would be happy to share, if anyone asks.]

Whenever she gets back to her room

[alephbet]

[Aleph seems to be nearly asleep, sitting by her door. In his arms he is holding a small white rabbit, which he occasionally pets.]

[What...

The...

Fuuuuuu-

Yep, crouching down and putting a hand on his shoulder to gently shake him to be more awake.] Aleph, what the hell are you doing out here? It's freezing!

[alephbet]

Hm? [Okay, he's awake now.] Happy birthday. I caught you a rabbit.

[technologic]

[Blink. Stares at him. Then looks at the rabbit (awww it's so cute-no focus April), and then back at Aleph.]

... You wha-?

[alephbet]

I thought you'd like one. They're cute, and they don't eat much.

[technologic]

[Nope still looking shocked and confused.]

... But... Why did you...?

[alephbet]

It's your birthday.

[technologic]

B-but, I didn't think you would... get me anything...

[alephbet]

I said I would, and I did.

[technologic]

I-I, um... [She moves her hand to rub the back of her neck.] T-thank you, Aleph.

[alephbet]

You're welcome.

[He holds the rabbit out to her, keeping his grip gentle.] Here you go.

[technologic]

[She hesitantly takes the rabbit, holding it as gently as possible with a small smile.] ... How long have you been out here?

[alephbet]

A while now. I'm not sure.

[He still looks tired.]

[technologic]

[She frowns in concern, before standing up.] Can you stand?

[alephbet]

[It takes him a moment longer than it should, but he gets to his feet.] Perfectly fine.

[technologic]

[She's still frowning and she points to her room door.] Can you go in there, please?

[alephbet]

Sure.

[He walks in and sits on a bed that isn't hers, because awkward.

...his legs feel a bit stiff.]

[technologic]

[And she takes the blanket from her bed, and goes to hold it out to him, making sure the bunny is still being held safely.] Here, this should help warm you up.

[alephbet]

Thank you. I wish the heat would come back on soon.

[Siiiigh. He takes the blanket and wraps himself up.]

[technologic]

Knowing Jason, it probably won't be up until next month.

[She sighs and takes a seat next to him, bunny being placed on her lap.] Back home it got cold, but never this quickly.

The last time I remember being this cold, there was a King Frost in the area...

[technologic]

[Blink, blink.] ... A what?

[alephbet]

A Jack Frost, but bigger.

[technologic]

... A Jack Frost is a kinda demon, I'm guessing?

[alephbet]

Yes. A small demon many people find cute. They look like snowmen and they say 'hee-ho' a lot.
