Setting: Floor Six (until he realizes how dangerous it is), and then Floor Thirty-Two.
Format: You decide.
Summary: Luke needs warmer clothes and something other than nutrition bars to eat. Naturally, this leads to so much fail.
Warnings: Luke. Failing. AT EVERYTHING.

[There was a soft rustle from the underbrush on floor six, and if you looked closely, you might see a head of red hair snooping around. He's being surprisingly quiet for one so loud, and if you stick around long enough, you'll get to see why.]

[There's a few deer lurking around, minding their own business, and Luke is heading straight for them. He keeps himself quiet, waiting... and then he leaps from his hiding place, sword brandished and eyes squeezed shut as he aims to behead one of the deer...!]

[...but the deer are having none of that. One with a medium size rack of antlers snapped its head toward Luke, baring its teeth and letting out a dangerous, not-very-deer-like growl. He somehow fumbled in mid-air, landing on his butt as the other deer turned on him, letting out similar noises. A startled, "Meep!" escaped from him as he scooted back on his behind, before finally flailing up to his feet.]

[This was the second batch that did that! This was so not a nice forest!]

[Later on, on floor thirty-six, you'll get to see him doing much of the same... with the same amount of success. Clearly, Luke fails at this whole "hunting" thing, and needs a mentor (or someone to mock him).]

[Really, that should be all he has to say to get that point across. Although Luke has no way of seeing it, Asch is running a hand through his hair in agitation.]

/... If you'll trade me some of the meat, I'll come help./

[Luke glanced to the side, making a face as if Asch were standing next to him.]

...Lelouch is making me a coat from the hide. If I can get four skins to him, he can probably make two.

[Incentive, original?]

[Not particularly - he's warm enough in his uniform, with the addition of that cloak - but star for trying, Luke.]

/Good for you. I just want to be in charge of my own meals again./

I don't care. It's not like I can eat all this meat anyway.

[It's not so much the horrible diet as the fact that he can't cook for himself that's bothering him.]

[What with those bare shoulders and all. No, he's not encouraging Luke's romantic life, why would he do that.]

Oh... yeah, I didn't think about that. She never complains, so it slipped my mind.

[Y-yeah, he'll have Lelouch make her a cloak or something, and she'll be so grateful, and...]

[...don't mind him, taking a moment to blush and grin like an idiot.]

A-anyway, yeah. Get down here, I'll give you some of the meat.

[And about twenty minutes later, here he is, looking a little less entirely annoyed than usual. That'll probably change quickly, though. Dealing with Luke does that.]

[Luke rolled his eyes at the question, though he did have a bit of a smile on his face.]

[Luke nodded; he got it, big bad original didn't like having feelings.]

So, how are we going to do this?

[Big bad original doesn't have feelings what are you talking about]

You're good enough at scaring them into bolting. I'll go around the far side and catch one in the panic.

[He's pretty sure they're in there somewhere, but he'll find them another time. Right now he was too busy giving him a sour look.]

Hey, how am I supposed to learn if you do all the work?

Learn by watching.

[He shrugs slightly.]

I'd think you'd want this done as quickly as possible. There'll be plenty of time for you to learn to sneak properly when your teeth aren't chattering.

[Luke hated to admit it, but...]

...yeah, you have a point. Okay. Let me know when you're ready.

We'll have to find more deer, first.

[Asch glances around before setting off towards Luke's right; his footsteps are incredibly quiet for the boots he's wearing, and practically the only noise he makes is the swish of his cloak when he pauses and turns back towards Luke.]

At least I have a way of signalling you without making noise.

[Is that a smile? Maybe. Probably not, though.]

[A grumble escaped from him.]

...try not to give me too much of a headache...

You can't fight with one anyway.

[A flick against the inside of Luke's skull - not particularly painful, but enough to be noticeable.]

There, that's your signal, now let's go find some deer.

[sacred_flamer]

[Luke flinched, but at least it didn't hurt that much.]

Yeah, fine...

[...might be a small grumble as he heads off to look, not as quiet as Asch, but at least he wasn't tromping through the forest.]

[Silent as the grave over here sorry Nanako, Asch is mostly using the bushes and trees as cover, not even glancing back at Luke. One benefit of being isofons, this close he could still vaguely sense the idiot without even focusing on their connection.

Ah, there we go. Around some bushes, a bit of a clearing and five of the beasts grazing in relative calm. Asch settles into a crouch behind a thick-looking bush before looking back and beckoning Luke over.]

[Luke peered over at Asch curiously, and then turned to see the deer milling about. Okay... this could work. He quietly crept over, circling around so he would be in a position to drive the animals toward his original...]

[bloodyashes]

[Patience, patience, Asch, stop wincing at every little noise.

He settles a bit near a low point in the bushes - a high-jumping deer would clear it easily, but most predators would have a hard time of it, which makes it the most probable escape route in this direction.

And if the deer decide to attack his replica instead, well, he can pull a rescue from here, too.

Shedding his cloak so it doesn't get in the way, Asch draws his blade and flicks against the connection. Ready when you are, Luke.]

[Just because Luke was serving as the distraction, didn't mean he wasn't at least going to try to get one himself. He jumped out of the brush with a loud battle cry, his sword coming down toward the deer closest too him. The creature jerked away, its companions heading straight for Asch as the one Luke had targeted pranced back, looking unsure of what it should do next.]

[Don't get carried away now, Luke.

The first deer gets past, but the second winds up with a deep slash across the throat - yeah, that's right beast, you try backpedaling in midair, it's not happening.

With one down, the rest scatter in all directions. Asch looks down at the kill, satisfied, before standing from behind the bushes to look at Luke.]
