Summary: Waver searches for her family, sulks around as Wavers do, and then explores a little.
Warnings: May include monsters etc. I'll update accordingly.

Dormitories

[Waver doesn't want to believe what she's been told. It would be so much easier to tell herself this is a prank, or she's being held for ransom, or... something. And that's why, as soon as she's able, the magus wanders the dormitory floors with only one goal on her mind...]

Brother! Brother? Derry! Where have you gone? Derry...!

[The girl's search for her sibling is more than a little frantic, and she'll stop to ask anyone if they've seen him, whether she recognises them or not.]

Floor 4

[After giving up her search, Waver can be found sulking in an out-of-the-way chair with her bowl of oatmeal and a small pile of books pilfered from the library. Every now and then she makes a note of something on her phone, but for the most part she just looks like your average Waver, trying to distract herself.]

[Eventually she'll get bored with reading and attempt to go exploring. She's not daft enough to leave the stairs on any floor that looks suspicious, but sometimes things don't go according to plan, do they? It only occurs to her after some time that she should probably rush back to her room before nightfall, if what she heard was true...]

[The Tower wasn't all bad..but when the Administrators decided to experiment, they experimented. And Ruana was something out of a Lovecraftian nightmare.]

Alright then! I'm sure it would be fun to play against you..I'm not sure what game we should play though.

[Alas, poor innocent Waver has yet to really experience the Tower's darker nature. Being told and seeing it are different things. Even so, talking about games provides a nice distraction.]

I suppose it depends on what they have available. I didn't even know there was a room like that in the first place.

[That they do..plus, Tohko was the type to face the worse of everything and keep going, hoping things would turn out better. At least, hoping for as long as she could.]

Well, if you want, I could take you to that floor, and you could have a look around. There's quite a few shelves with different types of games, so you might find something you like.

I think I'd like to explore today, but soon we should go together. I'd like that.

So would I, really. Maybe we could pull the other two Wavers to play with us too and make it a huge tournament?

That does sound like a lot of fun! We should make a day of it.

We should! It would be a lot of fun, which is something everyone needs in this Tower. I'm not sure when we should do it..but I'm always ready whenever you three are!

I may have to convince the old codger that he actually likes me first.

I'm sure he doesn't hate you..and you know, he's not that old. In this place, thirty-five is actually pretty young, considering who else is here.

No, I don't imagine he does. And I'm sixteen; thirty is ancient. I can't even picture what I'll be like at twenty!

You'll have longer hair, for one thing, and grow a bit..and I'm eighteen, but I can still say that thirty isn't that old. After all, there are people here who are three hundred and only look to be about thirty. And there are people here even older than that who look to be about twenty.

...Well at least they age well.

[And then she pauses, making small, thoughtful sound.]

I don't think I'd like to grow my hair long. My brother tangles it up when he combs it.

..They don't age at all. At least, some don't.

[Tohko then gave Waver a small smile.]

You could make a ponytail of it. I bet it would look cute like that..or a braid.

Hmm... I think a braid would look rather cute...

[Inwardly, Tohko was as happy as could be. Another person who she managed to convince to have braids!]

If you want, I'll give you a ribbon so that you can tie it up when it gets long enough.

Hmmm... if you did, I'd have to use it immediately so it doesn't get lost.

While I'm not disagreeing with that train of thought, do you think you can make a braid right now?

[She's not trying to be rude, Waver..just a simple question.]

Hmmmmm....

[Waver takes a lock of hair in front of one of her ears, tongue poking out the corner of her mouth as she concentrates on braiding it. It's little, and a bit sloppy, but it's a braid!]

[At that, Tohko smiled and nodded before quickly undoing one of her own braids, taking the charm out of it, and giving the ribbon to Waver.]

Here you go! Now you can have a braid of your own! I'm sure it'll look great if you let it grow out.

[As she spoke, Tohko redid her hair so that she had one thick braid instead of two thin ones. She would get some more ribbon from floor fifteen later.]

[Waver uses the ribbon to tie off her little baby braid, blushing at the other girl with a small smile.]

Thank you. As a token of my first friend in this place, I'll treasure it.

[And that just makes Tohko smile. Waver..she wasn't expecting a line like that, but it made her happy.]

Oh..you're welcome! I'm glad I could be your first friend in this place..but I'm sure you'll make a lot more the longer you stay here!

I hope so. This is the sort of place where friends could make or break you, from the sound of it.

[And she's used to having a lot of friends, but Waver feels like it would be selfish to say "I don't know how I'd handle being lonely."]

[Don't worry, Waver. Tohko hates being alone too. You're in good hands.]

It really is, to be honest. I wouldn't have gotten through some tough times here if it weren't for the friends I've made here.

[Together, they fight crime!]

I can't imagine what I'd be like if I didn't have friends to count on.

[But she will once she meets boyself, hooooyes.]

[That, Tohko would be more than happy to do with Waver!~]

You'd probably be a little lonelier..and a lot more wrapped up in your studies.

[She's met the younger Waver. While they're good friends, Tohko can see his negative qualities quite clearly.]
