Summary: Waver searches for her family, sulks around as Wavers do, and then explores a little.

Dormitories

[Waver doesn't want to believe what she's been told. It would be so much easier to tell herself this is a prank, or she's being held for ransom, or... something. And that's why, as soon as she's able, the magus wanders the dormitory floors with only one goal on her mind...]

Brother! Brother? Derry! Where have you gone? Derry...!

[The girl's search for her sibling is more than a little frantic, and she'll stop to ask anyone if they've seen him, whether she recognises them or not.]


Floor 4

[After giving up her search, Waver can be found sulking in an out-of-the-way chair with her bowl of oatmeal and a small pile of books pilfered from the library. Every now and then she makes a note of something on her phone, but for the most part she just looks like your average Waver, trying to distract herself.]

[Eventually she'll get bored with reading and attempt to go exploring. She's not daft enough to leave the stairs on any floor that looks suspicious, but sometimes things don't go according to plan, do they? It only occurs to her after some time that she should probably rush back to her room before nightfall, if what she heard was true...]

Then the one you know who bears that name is quite a different man. [He lets out a short laugh, but shrugs as he slowly assesses the girl from a fair distance away.]

Let me guess. A magus?

[There's no attempt to hide the irritation in the girl's expression or voice as she speaks, crossing her arms over her chest.]

If you want to be technical and somewhat judgemental about it, then yes, I suppose. I don't see what it's got to do with anything, though.

Most of those who know me are magi, so it was of course the natural presumption. [He seems pleased by his deduction, though.]

Tell me, how is it that you know one who goes by that name? Gilgamesh?

In my case, being a magus is coincidence. The Gilgamesh I know is a Heroic Spirit reincarnated. My best mate is another Heroic Spirit and he's her other best mate.

[He repeats the words with something approaching fascination, though it does not really show in his eyes. No, his eyes are surprisingly cold as the idea settles in his head. Reincarnation. Was that not what Rider had basically been granted?

I suppose? Either way, the worst the Gilgamesh I know has ever done was annoy Enkidu on purpose. She complains about him a lot, but he means well.

[His laughter comes a beat later than it usually would, and his smile is close-lipped. To hear that name spoken of so casually... He is not sure what to think. He really needs time to think on this.]

You seem to know your mutual friend very well.

She was my first friend when my family moved to a new country, and she's been my best mate ever since.

[She only realises how bad that could sound after she says it, and Waver blushes again.]

Not as close as she is with you, though! Er, the other you, I mean. And I've got my brother Derry, too, so...

[SHE ISN'T HIS REPLACEMENT HONEST~!]

[He smiles a bit more broadly at the girl's stammers, waving dismissively after a moment. All of these worlds... Possibilities that he wasn't privy to. Including Enkidu.]

Of course. I could think of no other possibility. Where there are a Gilgamesh and Enkidu, they are inseparable.
