Midsummer Bash

Setting: Floor 25, July 5, afternoon
Format: Open
Summary: Lancer throws a party for midsummer, since the Tower obviously needs a breather.
Warnings: None so far.

[To be honest, Lancer wanted to have the party in the evening, sometime around twilight. That would have been the most romantic time for it. Unfortunately, when in the Tower, one had to account for things like monsters. As a result, he had to hold it during the afternoon. But it wasn't too bad of a compromise.]

[This was, of course, a more simple affair than Diarmuid's birthday. For food, he had hauled a couple of tables up here and lined the table with dinner food. The centerpiece was a cake which had a heart drawn on it in red frosting. In one corner of the meadow, he had used some boxes and tarp to make some sort of booth where people could hide from the sun (and steal kisses off of each other). In the center of the meadow, he had piled a large stack of wood, perfect for lighting a bonfire by the party's end. The structures had all been surrounded with wreaths made from the meadow's flowers.]

[As soon as he's done with the setup, Lancer will sit down next to the firewood pile, waiting for people to come.]

Food Table

[Cafeteria foods like hot dogs, hamburgers, and pizza line the tables. And there's a cake with a crooked heart drawn on it in frosting. One has to wonder who it's for.]

[Yotsuba, having received word of the party from Enoch, had come, since she knew how much fun festivals and parties could be. When she saw that cake though, she couldn't help but wander over to the food table, her eyes glittering a little. Oh, she wanted to eat it, since it looked super yummy, but..she wasn't sure if she could! So, she would turn to the first person she saw and call out to them, smiling.]

Oh..can Yotsuba eat the cake? It looks super yummy!

[ The cake looked like it belonged to someone, but he couldn't bring himself to turn her down. She looked too excited. And so, with a sheepish smile and a shrug, Tavros answered. ]

Sure! Why not? I'm sure you won't get into trouble for eating a cake.

[ Hell, he might join you. It looked pretty inviting. ]

[And Yotsuba's grin grew even wider when she heard that.]

Yay! We have to have a knife first..

[Hopefully there were some available knives and forks around. If there were, Yotsuba would pick one up and use it to cut the first slice of the cake. It was a bit of a large slice, but she didn't do it intentionally. However..transferring the slice over to a place was hard for her. Her hand kept shaking, and even though she was concentrating, it ended up falling onto the table, a few inches away from the plate.]

Ah! Whoops!

[ If it was up to Tavros, he would have used his hands like the civilized creature he is, but it's a good thing the little girl took over. While staring at the misplaced piece of cake, Tavros had to bite his lips to keep himself from laughing. He then cleared his throat, and placed a hand on top of her head in a genuine act of condolence. ]

Allow me to help.

[ He took the knife with one hand and a plate with another. He was careful and yet very generous as he soon had a large piece of cake waiting for her. He smiled brightly. ]

You even get the badly drawn heart!

[sunflowerfairy]

[Yotsuba smiled at the hand on her head and at the helpful person who cut a large piece of cake for her. She reached out to take the plate, smiling all the while.]

Oh! Thank you! You're a good person! And it is a bad drawing!

[Not that she seemed too unhappy about that. However, there was still the issue of the piece of cake that was lying on the table.]

Will you take that slice?

[As she spoke, she pointed to it.]

[FOOD. GLORIOUS FOOD.

Really, she's a kid with a hell of an appetite (not that anyone would be able to tell with how quickly she burns it all off) so it's no wonder she can be found here pretty quickly. And sampling what she can without making herself sick.]

[Lancer chuckles as he sees Tetra sampling down everything.]

Man, looks like I gotta go get some more food at this rate.

[Tetra playfully sticks her tongue out at him. Then flings a bit of icing from the cake at his face.]

Gotta try a little bit of everything! We never know when we'll have this kinda food again and we ain't got nothin' like this where I'm from.

Really now?

[He picks up a hot dog.]

We never had anything like this in my place either.

What kinda food did you have?

Well, we had bread and meat, but it was all separate. And the meat looks like meat instead of...well...this.

Sounds kinda like my world. We had some good stews too.

Yeah, the soups and stews at my place were good too. There was always a lot of stuff that got thrown into them.

[Taiki had wandered over to see if there was anything he could eat and was happy to see fruit salad, he stood on tiptoes to reach and saw Zelda's great great great great (he had forgotten how many greats, he had been quite ill at the time) granddaughter.]

[Tetra grins and gives a little wave, sliding over to Taiki's side.]

Feelin' better today?

I am... It's nice to see people not being scared...

Yeah, it is. It's even better seein' 'em all have a little bit'a fun. That's what people really need after last month.

It is... they should have fun more often but things are often really scary...

Yeah but it'd be even scarier if we were alone. At least we can make friends and they can help us to not be scared, right?

It would be... [Friends are good, Taiki stood on his tiptoes to grab some fruit and smiled shyly at her] I think you're... really brave. You didn't look scared at all...

[It's unsurprising to see Minato by the food tables, checking out the selection on offer. After he pick his choices, Minato can be seen eating his food with a small smile.

[ The oddly shaped heart on the cake is a curious thing, indeed. The sight of it only really strikes her as strange because she's more accustomed to seeing such decorations during spring. Lancer said this was a midsummer celebration and while the solstice was probably only a week or so ago around her own birthday, she didn't question it. The heart though... Is this actually a wedding party of some sort? ]

[Prussia, being Prussia, was always up for an event where there was lots of food. Naturally, he was lingering around the food table, sampling just about about everything he could get his hands on. While munching, he spots Cecil staring the cake and approaches her, remembering the nice lady from that time with the music players.]

[ Ishtar's nibbling on some food at the corner of the table. It didn't seem like anything tasted good after so long and knowing the troublesome things, she was still dwelling on it as she brushed her skirt a bit while nibbling her food. It wasn't something she would usually do since she was the social butterfly who tried to engage with anyone and everyone.

Today was just one of those days where she didn't feel up to it. ]
