Midsummer Bash

Setting: Floor 25, July 5, afternoon
Format: Open
Summary: Lancer throws a party for midsummer, since the Tower obviously needs a breather.
Warnings: None so far.

[To be honest, Lancer wanted to have the party in the evening, sometime around twilight. That would have been the most romantic time for it. Unfortunately, when in the Tower, one had to account for things like monsters. As a result, he had to hold it during the afternoon. But it wasn't too bad of a compromise.]

[This was, of course, a more simple affair than Diarmuid's birthday. For food, he had hauled a couple of tables up here and lined the table with dinner food. The centerpiece was a cake which had a heart drawn on it in red frosting. In one corner of the meadow, he had used some boxes and tarp to make some sort of booth where people could hide from the sun (and steal kisses off of each other). In the center of the meadow, he had piled a large stack of wood, perfect for lighting a bonfire by the party's end. The structures had all been surrounded with wreaths made from the meadow's flowers.]

[As soon as he's done with the setup, Lancer will sit down next to the firewood pile, waiting for people to come.]

[Lancer walks over to the kissing booth and hoers over the boy.]

How're you doing this month?

Oh, hi, Lancer-san! Everything's going alright. Seems this place is letting us have a break for your party.

Thanks for inviting me, by the way! And how are you?

[The hovering is only noticed in passing after he finishes speaking, and his grin doesn't fade. He's not always that mindful of personal space himself, so it doesn't really bother him.]

I'm doing fine. Managed to miss a lot of the monster last month.

How're you taking to the new room? You are Diarmuid are close, so you like it, right?

Oh, I'm glad. I didn't run into many, either.

It's great! I'm glad to see Diarmuid more, and you too.

[...For some reason, Edgeworth doesn't seem to get along with him.]

[He reaches over to pat the boy on the head.]

And we'll see each other a lot more. If you got any questions, you can come ask me. Especially when it concerns ladies.

W-What? I don't- I wouldn't have any questions about that!

[What is Lancer thinking? Clearly Ryoji is the most charming not-really-person in the Tower and thus wouldn't have any troubles with the ladies.]

...Introduce me to any pretty ladies you get together with?

P-Pretty-?

[Ryoji's ready to spit out another protest, but stops himself.

He's still bright red when he speaks, though.]

I guess I'll just have to introduce you to Yukiko sometime.

Yukiko? So you've already got a specific lady in mind? Congratulations!

Thanks! Yeah, we just made it official not too long ago. She's really sweet. I think you'll like her.

[Don't say it like that, Ryoji. He might decide to like her too much.]

At this rate, I'm gonna need to throw another party for you guys. Celebrate all the happy things that are popping up.

[Don’t you dare, Lancer. Despite all the death, their family is not in a soap opera.

Ryoji rapidly shakes his head.]

Oh, no, you don’t have to do that! It’s not like we’re getting married or anything!

[puppy_lancer]

True. You need a few dates and an engagement for that. And if you need any gifts to make her approve, just ask me.

Of course! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I... I mean, it's not serious yet, but I want it to work out.

You're a nice kid and she's a nice girl. I'm sure it'll work out.
