Midsummer Bash

Setting: Floor 25, July 5, afternoon
Format: Open
Summary: Lancer throws a party for midsummer, since the Tower obviously needs a breather.
Warnings: None so far.

[To be honest, Lancer wanted to have the party in the evening, sometime around twilight. That would have been the most romantic time for it. Unfortunately, when in the Tower, one had to account for things like monsters. As a result, he had to hold it during the afternoon. But it wasn't too bad of a compromise.]

[This was, of course, a more simple affair than Diarmuid's birthday. For food, he had hauled a couple of tables up here and lined the table with dinner food. The centerpiece was a cake which had a heart drawn on it in red frosting. In one corner of the meadow, he had used some boxes and tarp to make some sort of booth where people could hide from the sun (and steal kisses off of each other). In the center of the meadow, he had piled a large stack of wood, perfect for lighting a bonfire by the party's end. The structures had all been surrounded with wreaths made from the meadow's flowers.]

[As soon as he's done with the setup, Lancer will sit down next to the firewood pile, waiting for people to come.]

She achieved the Holy Grail, Lancer. [Arturia gave up her honor to acquire the it, but it wasn't her place to give that information out.] She is no longer a king, either.

So...she gave up both her glory as a king and a knight upon getting that Grail?

[He scratches his head.]

...That doesn't make sense.

I do not expect you or anyone to understand the wish she and I sought the Holy Grail for. We have been told before that our desire is mad. As she has achieved hers, it would be better to speak to her about her wish than to speak to me about it.

It must have been a great wish if she were able to give up so much. Then...is it still your wish?

It is. Though her and I have different reasons for it.

Though, as far as I can see, the two of you are too honorable not to be knights!

You are welcome to that assessment. I am certain she will like hearing that.

I'll have to remember to tell her that.

[He runs a hand through his hair.]

Man, at this rate, I'll pretty much be the only guy who doesn't have big life-changing tragic wish I wanna make on that thing.

The Holy Grail grants miracles. Miracles are by definition life-changing.

...And I happened to be a Servant who only needed the "miracle" of getting to fight again. So what sort of miraculous beer do you think I would get from the Grail if I wished for that?

It's the only thing I'd use a Grail for. Everything else I'd just fulfill with my own hands.

I remember back when he was here. I liked him.

...Though his Master could afford to be a little smarter.

His grown-up form ain't half bad, but hey, he had ten years to figure his shit out.

Though he doesn't seem to have done anything stupid in the past while. I guess he learned his lesson?
