A dead man's wish

Characters: Everyone.
Setting: Everywhere, July 11th
Format: Whatever you want - it's a mingle log, after all.
Summary: While Naoya gets the reveal started on the network, Enoch takes care of physical copies.
Warnings: Reveal. Info. Nothing else, inherently.

*There's something different about the tower today. Not in a big way, not like the power or glamours are out. For one thing, everyone with a mailbox will get this note, unsigned:

Souls in our world are defined as the self. Even those without anything that can be considered a soul in their own worlds would manifest one here. Souls are extremely resilient - they can be torn out of their body and survive provided they are removed in the right manner. But they shouldn't be of course - the side effects might be disastrous in ways we can't quite understand. It's happened here before. Souls can be torn out of this world the same as in any other. Here though they can split - that's extremely important. They can split and merge if you have the right skillset. Never lose your soul in the Tower of Animus. None of yours are yet lost - but never lose it! They won't come back whole if you let her swallow them up. The power must have gone by now - she'll want to restore the tower. Everyone who ended up trapped on their own worlds is now in grave danger! She can't take souls as Zo can, but she can siphon them and she can squeeze all the energy out of them.

As soon as this message is decoded put it in as many places as possible! Put it on the network make copies and plaster them on the walls. Do everything you can so that as many people read this message as possible. There isn't enough energy to erase everyone's memories!

Remember - souls born here can be split and reabsorbed here. A soul born elsewhere can be split there, but there's no way to put it back together unless you can put it back where it's supposed to be.

Not everything is as fake as it seems. Your souls are here and you have all been drugged to keep certain aspects of yourselves contained but every part of you is here. You can use that against them if you can figure out how to unchain yourselves. I'm afraid you'll have Jason as your first opponent as he's the one with the keys you need. Be careful! There is information everywhere though much of it has been nearly permanently sealed. I can make it possible for you to access it, although you will all have to unlock it.

If that wasn't strange enough, you've probably seen it already. The same message is posted throughout the tower - on bathroom stalls, on walls, on tables. There are easily over a hundred pieces of paper.

And hey... Isn't that the same note "the Observer" put up on the network yesterday evening?*

((ooc: Mingle log for reactions off the network! Have fun!))

[Minato's quiet for a moment as he listens to Ken, not once interrupting or allow his attention stray. Once Ken's done, Minato thinks back to what he knows about October 4th.

On that night, Shinjiro Aragaki and Ken Amada didn't attend the operation. On that very same night, Shinjiro died (will die, by Minato's point in time--) due to a tragedy. Ken Amada was deeply connected to it, because he wanted to confront Shinjiro.

Because his mother died by accident, due to Shinjiro's loss of control.

Ken's mother's death...considering what Personas are capable of, especially Castor's sheer strength? He wouldn't be surprised if they do cleaned and covered up the area. If the scene look like a "car crash", people would start asking questions about the damaged vehicle.
]

...Most likely, yes. Depending on how severe the damage was on the area, it would be difficult to explain it away as a different kind of accident. [So the Kirijo would clean it up and sweep it under the rug, so to speak.]

[Something in Ken snaps. That group hurt the people he now considers his family, they covered up his mother's death, they jerked SEES around and set them on a path that will just end up in tragedy and pain for them...]

[His knees wobble, and he sits down on the stairs, hard. He tucks his spear handle onto his lap, before leaning over and putting his head in his hands.]

Those bastards.. I don't want them to win. They can't win. I mean... ngh. Some of you guys in SEES are all right, but you're clearly working for the wrong side. I don't... I don't know why you can't see it.

["I don't know why you can't see it."

Maybe it's not in those exact words, but Minato faced a similiar line of questions before in the past. Why did he continue to stay on SEES, even after seeing a glimpse into the Kirijo Group's past back in Yakushima. His answer for it was initially selfish, but it slowly changed the longer he live in Iwatodai.
]

The others have their own reasons. ["I can't speak for them."] I stay with SEES because I don't want my friends to get hurt.

[Especially those who can't protect themselves.]

I don't want mine to get hurt either. The Dark Hour's the only time at home where we can get food easily, and make money. I mean...

[He takes a deep breath.]

I want to change things, but it's a little hard right now. I'm too young for anyone to hire me, and the others can't work. So finding a way to make a legitimate living is... hard. In the future I'll do what I can to pay back what I took, but when we get home... I'm still not sure.

I know there's a way, but for right now the Dark Hour is still our best option.

[He keep quiet about how Strega can afford their necessities. He disagree with their methods, but he knows society aren't so kind to homeless people.

With how they feel about the Kirijo Group, asking if they can stay in the SEES's dorms would just result in a buildup of heavy atmosphere. It would take a lot of work to lessen the tension.
]

...But you know that SEES is working towards stopping the Dark Hour, and it'll affect how your group operates. [It'll be harder for Strega to do their thing.]

Right. Most of the money comes in through... well. Revenge killings. They don't let me come along for those. But... none of us can work, so we have to steal. There's no place for us to go - especially no place that's not controlled by the Kirijo group.

I just... want to survive long enough to make a difference. The others don't really care about dying but... I have to last long enough to make a difference. I have eto make changes because they can't.

[As long Strega lives there, either on Port Island or Iwatodai area, it would be difficult to find a place without the Kirijo Group's hold or knowledge. The island was financed and built by them, after all.]

...You're a good kid, Ken. If you want to make a change, you need to study a lot and grab the right opportunities. [Ken is resourceful and is a good fighter. Unfortunately, there's only so much their society can allow.]

There is also the option of moving away, but I guess it's not possible.

I know that, but we can't make much money. We fight Shadows and sometimes they give us a little, but we stay away from the tower because you guys have pretty much claimed it.

If we stopped doing the things we do now, then we wouldn't be able to even get supplies or anything.
