Summary: While Naoya gets the reveal started on the network, Enoch takes care of physical copies.

*There's something different about the tower today. Not in a big way, not like the power or glamours are out. For one thing, everyone with a mailbox will get this note, unsigned:

Souls in our world are defined as the self. Even those without anything that can be considered a soul in their own worlds would manifest one here. Souls are extremely resilient - they can be torn out of their body and survive provided they are removed in the right manner. But they shouldn't be of course - the side effects might be disastrous in ways we can't quite understand. It's happened here before. Souls can be torn out of this world the same as in any other. Here though they can split - that's extremely important. They can split and merge if you have the right skillset. Never lose your soul in the Tower of Animus. None of yours are yet lost - but never lose it! They won't come back whole if you let her swallow them up. The power must have gone by now - she'll want to restore the tower. Everyone who ended up trapped on their own worlds is now in grave danger! She can't take souls as Zo can, but she can siphon them and she can squeeze all the energy out of them.

As soon as this message is decoded put it in as many places as possible! Put it on the network make copies and plaster them on the walls. Do everything you can so that as many people read this message as possible. There isn't enough energy to erase everyone's memories!

Remember - souls born here can be split and reabsorbed here. A soul born elsewhere can be split there, but there's no way to put it back together unless you can put it back where it's supposed to be.

Not everything is as fake as it seems. Your souls are here and you have all been drugged to keep certain aspects of yourselves contained but every part of you is here. You can use that against them if you can figure out how to unchain yourselves. I'm afraid you'll have Jason as your first opponent as he's the one with the keys you need. Be careful! There is information everywhere though much of it has been nearly permanently sealed. I can make it possible for you to access it, although you will all have to unlock it.

If that wasn't strange enough, you've probably seen it already. The same message is posted throughout the tower - on bathroom stalls, on walls, on tables. There are easily over a hundred pieces of paper.

And hey... Isn't that the same note "the Observer" put up on the network yesterday evening?*

[She furrows her brow as she listens. That didn't make any more sense than if she'd read it herself]

I don't understand that at all. What's the whole thing about splitting souls about?

[Prussia just sighs.]

Err... I'm not really the best person to ask about that. I didn't really get it either. All I know is that... here's the bottom line. The people at who are still back in our worlds are in danger of being turned into batteries for the tower.

What!?

But they're not even here? How can they be in danger?

We have to stop them! How do we do that?

Something to do with Ruana's abilities. Apparently she can pull energy out of souls and use them to power the tower, or something.

How to do that... uh... I don't know. Somehow, the first step involves Jason. He has some sort of "key" or something. I'm not too sure.

[wrigurun]

And what about the lock? What lock do we have to open?

[mostremaining]

Er... I don't know. I'm guessing it's a metaphorical key. Like... Jason guards the ability to move forward, or something.

[wrigurun]

Huh...

You sure? What if you get there and it's like an actual key?

I bet it's the key to the tower! Maybe if we get it we'll be able to go outside! I've always wondered what's out there.

[mostremaining]

Who knows? I think only the people who are really involved in moving things in the tower will find out. Like, my roommate... his name is Enoch... he's a real mover and shaker in the tower. I'm sure he'll want to get the key, whether it's real or not.

[wrigurun]

Enoch? Never heard of him.

[Although she'd actually met him a few times, Wriggle had never learned his name]

Wait, if he's involved with moving things in the tower does that mean he's one of them?

[mostremaining]

Ah, well... if you want to meet him, you can come to room 3-18. Like I said, he's my roommate.

[Prussia shakes his head.] No, that's not it. Among the people in the tower, he's pretty important and is part of a lot of important events, though I don't know what specifically he's done. He's definitely not one of the tower people, though.

[wrigurun]

Hmm...

[She narrows her eyes]

I dunno, he doesn't sound that trustworthy. Why is he so much more important than everyone else who's been bought here?

[mostremaining]

Well, he's not so much more important. He's just been part of a lot of big events. That's kind of cool, wouldn't you say?

[wrigurun]

Not really.

He's still suspicious! Big events here are usually bad.

[mostremaining]

I guess you have a point. Like the glamour going off and freaking everyone out... that was bad, and yet apparently some people in the tower were responsible for it, not the admins.

[wrigurun]

Wait! Are you serious?

I though it just... broke. I didn't know people in the tower did it.

[mostremaining]

I'm not 100% sure about the details, but... I think it was something like that, yeah. I don't know what made them do it, though.

[wrigurun]

Maybe they have people working on the inside...

Aah! I hate this! I liked it better when it was just us verses them but now it's super complicated!

[mostremaining]

Which inside, though? There's so many different sides now that who knows who's working for who.

Yeah! I hate grey spots, too! I mean, nothing can be totally black and white, but the grey in the middle is still totally annoying!

[wrigurun]

Like, you know! People working for the admins that say they don't like them same as everyone else.

But... yeah, it is annoying. I just want to go home and have everything the way it used to be. If we beat up the admins do you think that'll solve everything?

[mostremaining]

Oh, right. I don't think these guys are working for the admins, though, or else Ruana wouldn't have gotten so mad when the glamour went out.

Don't talk about things being how they used to be. That just makes being here harder. Maybe we should just focus on how things are now...

[wrigurun]

But I don't like it here at all!

Besides, I dunno about you but I need to keep thinking of how things used to be. If I forget all about my home I might not be able to go back...

[mostremaining]

Who does? Aside from people who use this place to prey on others and people whose worlds were utter hell, I mean.

You know, that's a good point. I'm not saying to forget about your history. I'm just saying to focus on what you've got going on now.

[wrigurun]

No you don't understand!

You might still be able to remember your home but I can't! I can barely remember anything outside of my forest and I don't even remember the faces of my friends!

[Well, they weren't really friends. It just sort of slipped out. She'd never been more thankful that Meiling was here with her]

Wh-whoa, you can't...?

[Prussia was never particularly good at thinking through situations like this (how to best console someone).]

I'm sorry. I guess, with all my history, I don't know how much I'll be able to understand.

[wrigurun]

[Wriggle lets out an irate sigh and scratches the back of her head]

It's fine I guess, I don't understand a lot of other people either.

I've always had a bad memory, but I don't want this to be the only thing I can remember, y'know?
