To Drown Out

Characters: Enoch never intended it but, everyone who's up for drinking!
Setting: Cafeteria, throughout the day (sorry team indigo)
Format: Party, do what you want!
Summary: With Riki being generous with the food again, Enoch decides to see, first, if he can still get drunk at all, and second, if being drunk will help keep his new headmate quiet. A (not-so-) surprising amount of people are likely to be interested in drinking with him.
Warnings: Drunken shenanigans. Possible angst because he might actually talk about Eleven under the influence. Might also talk about gory details of the meeting with Ruana. Did I say drunken shenanigans? I think I need to say that again.

*Much like just before the glamour failure, Enoch sits with several bottles of red wine from the kitchen stock. Unlike then, he has no extra glasses out to share with. He is not drinking to a plunge into the unknown. He is drinking to drown things. Mostly, the voice screaming in his head.

But nothing really changes the fact that any modern wine is of much higher quality than anything his time could produce, and he's savoring its flavor too, in long sips. It's almost a distraction, itself.

Speaking of distractions, he certainly won't object to any company, and if it turns into a larger gathering he may get so caught up in it he'll forget how much he's had.

And so might you. Care to grab a drink for yourself? He won't mind if you ask for some of the wine he has.*

((ooc: Of course you can approach Enoch like any other log, but due to interest expressed this is actually more of a mingle! Start games and contests if you'd like or just hang out and have your characters get drunk or bodyguard or spectate. Please identify new games and contests in the header to make it clearer to people scrolling through! Naturally there can be several threads of the same game, considering this isn't organized at all.

[Aleph may be the heaviest drinker of any less than two year old anyone has met.

He's not terribly irresponsible about it, but wine on the menu means Aleph will definitely sit around and drink. He's used to finding information at bars, but just the alcohol itself is certainly a plus...

So, when he spots the drinking party forming, he'll happily take a seat and a bottle from the kitchen.]

[April may not be the most social person ever, even if she is getting better at it, but there is no way she could resist when she saw that a drinking party was happening.

She's still the kind of person to sit by the sidelines and watch, but she's grabbed herself some wine to drink and is already happily drinking away.]

[Lancer pokes his head in to find Enoch sitting in the cafeteria surrounded by bottles.]

...Woah, gonna drink all that?

[Of course, while he's marveling at Enoch and the bottles, anyone else can come up and talk to him.]

[Rick's never been one to drink in a vacuum, so he hasn't had the chance to really savor the new beverages Riki has provided them with. Now that he's in good company, though, this is a perfectly legitimate excuse to not only enjoy fine wine but also the people that it's brought with it. He finds himself sitting in the center of a shifting crowd, not exactly engaged, dropping in on conversations and laughing at passing jokes. He finishes his steak and the wine bottle comes his way again, he tops off his glass, sips idly, tops it off again...]

[He leans back in his chair and smiles, eyes closed in vacant tranquility, while the blush slowly takes over his face and remains a permanent fixture. Considering the large volume of people around him, Rick seems remarkably relaxed. Approachable, even.]

[Conversational? Well, there's an easy way to find out.]

[Aleph and Rick haven't had a proper conversation yet not tainted by 'you done goofed'. After drinking heavily sounds like a good time to fix that!]

[Ken needs a drink. He's needed a drink for a long time, and really he's more curious than anything else. He's only thirteen, but whatever. It's not like he can permanently damage anything here.]

[So people might notice a very young teenager with a beer sitting at one of the tables, sipping gingerly at it.]

[Zoe is a lightweight, and she is very aware of this. However after getting killed before, she really needs a drink. Or two. Or ten.

Either way, the white-haired woman seems to be really working through her drinks, and she's doing a good show of not looking as drunk as she actually feels.]

[Guess who found that the cafeteria was serving "European" beer and is incredibly excited about it? Prussia, that's who. With a can of beer in hand, he zips up to Enoch, radiating excitement.]

Hey, Enoch! BOOZE! Isn't it wonderful? I think Riki's my new favorite admin. Uh, if I had to have a favorite, that is. Riki should be in charge right now, right?

If he drinks fast enough Lucifel can't replace it.]

[Wearing something like a hooded cloak that looked suspiciously like a piece of fabric with a button sewn into it, a man whose face was covered sat nearby, a can of beer in his hand.

He was looking around at the gathering crowd without comment, seeming to take in the surroundings carefully.]

*Enoch has drained an entire bottle at this point and seems...relatively okay, still. Weird. He's noticeably relaxed, though.*

Mm...did he? Only one the twenty-first level I think...

[And one of the wallflowers there eventually decides to be social, moving to stand by the table as she sips at her own drink.]

[ Oh, good, they finally have some form of alcohol in stock again, nevermind that it's all really just water. Sure, they'd had some in May, but he hadn't much a chance to indulge much then, and quite a lot has happened since then.

Considering the psychelesis phantoms of only a few weeks previous, he's a little disinclined to keep to his regular habit of stopping by the eleventh floor in the evening, so.

So. (Basically, he really needs a drink.)

Instead, for the night, he'll be found in the cafeteria nursing a bottle (or more) of wine, idly watching people (and the involved shenanigans) pass through during dinner and afterwards between sips from his glass.

...Someone who looks that lithe shouldn't be able to pack away so much alcohol. ]

[Naoya has plenty of experience with alcohol. He's lived more than long enough to get drunk in interesting and inappropriate ways.]

[Unfortunately, in this body, he was born a skinny Japanese man. They are not particularly well-known for holding their alcohol.]

[That's why Naoya is swaying a bit, three empty bottles of beer next to him and working on a fourth.]
