Event: Quarantine

Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings

[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.

After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

[Ken has plenty of experience with things that go bump in the night, and he rises.]

Shut up!

[His voice is a quiet hiss, and he goes to whack her with the spear shaft if she doesn't stop.]

[irreverence]

[A few stray tendrils of bladed hair take hold of the spear before it can connect, yanking to try and get the spear out of his hands and toss it aside.]

You should be nicer to your elders, Ken-san.

[And she slams on the door again, blinking in surprise when someone or something sees fit to knock back.]

Hmm...

...Stop. Seriously, knock that the fuck off. We don't know what that is, and provoking a whatever-the-fuck-it-might-be is a bad idea.

[... Something in Ken snaps. He growls, and pulls out his Evoker, putting it to his head.]

[... Oh right he neglected to warn his roommates about the Evoker looking like a gun.]

[Lancer had gone to stand by Asagi, to see if she needs a hand or if anyone needs protecting. Looking from Asagi to Ken, however, he sees the boy holding a gun to his head.]

Woah there! Kid--Ken! The hell are you doing?

Whatthefuckdoyouthinkyou'redoing--?!

[He pulls the trigger, and a woman in armor floats in front of him, shield and spear at the ready. He glares at Asagi.]

You're going to make it worse. So stop it before I have to shut you up.

[... Oh. Right.]

It's an Evoker. It doesn't fire actual bullets.

Picking a fight?

[Asagi leans back a bit from the door, armor beginning to creep up her arms.]

Bit of a small space, but I'll manage.

[She shrugs and crooks a finger.]

Come on and stop me then, kid.

[fionnuisce]

Enough. Both of you, quit it. If you want to beat the shit out of each other, wait until there's more space to do it.

[Lancer gapes at the way that Ken summons Dike. However, Asagi's words distract his attention from the persona.]

[He places a hand on her shoulder, holding her back.]

Hey, easy there.

[He glares over at Ken.]

You too.

[He growls a little, and lifts a hand, Dike mirroring his movements. A translucent shield floats in front of him as he casts Tetrakarn, and then Dike disappears. He moves to pick up his spear, not taking his eyes off of Asagi.]

[Diarmuid just blinks at Ken's actions. He probably knows more about Personas than most in the room, but he's never seen one summoned like that before. Still, the way it is summoned is not so important as something else.]

Ken, your powers have returned? Or is your Persona separate somehow?

[Perhaps this will be able to distract them from their fighting? Do the side effects only last one day? If so...it's not great, but more acceptable than a longer period of time.]

Wait he's... [Suzaku didn't get his full warning out before the Persona appeared, he just shook his head, really these kids should learn to give out at least short explanations before shooting themselves in the head.] The side effects must have just been short term. There isn't any dizziness anymore either.

[puppy_lancer]

[Lancer nods.]

That's good to know.

[He looks over at Asagi and her green collar.]

...You're up next for injections, aren't you?

[Now that he knows the effect is temporary, he isn't so hesitant to suggest injections.]

[Ken glowers at Asagi and retreats to his corner. Stupid jerks...]

[Waver glanced to Asagi's collar--the same color as his own--and quietly hoped no one would call attention to the fact that he hadn't taken his own injection either. While he had every intention of doing so, being without his magic tended to be a miserable experience.]

I guess so.

[She makes a face- a slight one, but she makes it.]

Eugh, I so don't want to do this though. I don't like anything that puts me out of commission.

[puppy_lancer]

[Lancer can understand where she's coming from. Being stuck without powers is a frustrating thing.]

Yeah, I know. But it'll be just for a little while. And I'll watch you until your powers are up again.

[Diarmuid steps closer to Waver. While he doesn't call attention to the fact that Waver hasn't taken his injection yet, he's well aware of it. His expression says as much.]

In addition to the two greens, one of us violets should probably go as well so we all aren't going at the same time just in case. If no one else wants to go, I will volunteer.

[His look is apologetic. It's obvious that he is trying to make up for his part in the arguing yesterday. Whatever thinking Diarmuid has done overnight, he's obviously completely let go of his idea of keeping some of the fluid back.]

[fionnuisce]

...You reconsidered pretty fast.

[Nope, still not pointing out that Waver himself hasn't even come close to taking his own.]

Some fights aren't worth continuing. As you've said, there are more important things to focus on right now.

[He raises an eyebrow at Waver.]

However, don't think I haven't noticed how quiet you have been on the matter of your own injection. If there is no objection to me going today, we will do this together as we do everything else.

[Granted, Diarmuid is a little bothered at the idea of them both being powerless at the same time, but he has been practicing fighting powerless almost since he arrived here and found out how easily they could be taken away. As long as he is not crippled by dizziness and weakness, he can still protect Waver if the need arises.

If the need arises and he is crippled by the side effects, he will still find a way.]

It's not as though I was going to ignore it myself. And while it might not be entirely logically sound for both of us to be out of commission at once, I'd feel better knowing you did it at all.

[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at Asagi's comment, but doesn't say anything. Over the last couple of days, he's let himself be baited too much and it needs to stop. He promised Waver things wouldn't change, and he doesn't want the man to question things because of how he's acting.

Diarmuid smiles a little crookedly at Waver.]

I know that. I'm not entirely comfortable with us both being powerless at the same time, but even powerless I will fight to the death for you and everyone else for that matter. Better to get it done now so that you have one less thing to worry about.

[irreverence]

Fine, whatever- someone just hand me the damn needle already and let's get this over with.

[She doesn't say anything about how quickly Diarmuid's changed his tune, or how Waver seems to think he's getting out of getting his injection. All she does is hold her hand out expectantly, looking in Suzaku's direction- after all, he'd been the one to take them, hadn't he.]

I'll take mine after Romeo and Juliet over there are finished, just so we don't all get hit with side-effects at the same time.
