[MEETING] We've no idea what the end picture will look like

Summary: A meeting to put together the pieces all of the characters got during 1369
Warnings: Mention and discussion some of the contents of the visions from 1369, which include disturbing and even gruesome content.

[The problem with having an impatient twelve year-old set up a meeting is that there isn't nearly as much in the way of amenities. Unless someone is able to make or bring any snacks, there's nothing of the sort available, nor any sort of decoration or notice hanging anywhere. All that can be found is the aforementioned twelve year-old standing near the stairs with her arms crossed.

She'll quite cheerfully tell anybody who wanders onto the floor (whether on purpose or accident) what's going on. Even those who missed her network post will be able to find out easily what's happening on this particular floor today.

And after that... well, then the discussion can begin.]

[To likely no one's surprise, Zelda sits with a pen and open notebook in her lap, ready to transcribe the discussion for future reference. But first she has a question.]

Did anyone see anything that might indicate the source of these visions? While psychoradiation poisoning is known to cause disturbing hallucinations, the kind of things we witnessed seem far too detailed for that to be the cause.

[It felt more like being forced into the past somehow, but she hasn't the faintest idea how that would be possible here.]

I saw a child. One with strange limbs and a bracelet engraved with numbers. Do you think that might have created those visions?

I saw a kid, too. Near the top the roller coaster, just hoverin' there in mid air. I thought it might be Zo but I couldn't see his face or read the bracelet. Can't put my finger on it, but I get the feeling something like this happened last year.

[Pausing, he thinks about it, then adds,]

What would screw up Zo's carnival illusion that badly?

[Ken closes his eyes to think for a minute, before opening them again.]

There was a girl missing the bottom half of her body... we know there were experiments here...

I... [She seems hesitant to recount her own vision, but she eventually swallows her courage.] I took the place of Ruana in the scene I saw, I believe. Hundreds... perhaps even thousands of children were staring up at my place at the top of the rail-- ferris wheel, and then two doctors pulled me out, saying it was "time for soul games."

I could see her being jealous of the kind of affection Zo has for us, but... she should be asleep by now.

[Of course, that doesn't rule her out completely, given how little they know of her powers, but hm.]

[Lancer has stayed silent, listening for quite a while before he speaks.]

So Lancelot said he had his visions over by the Ferris Wheel. I got mine across the entire place. Was there any spot in the Carnival that caused more visions than all the others?

I wouldn't know. I only saw mine near the roller coaster.

The empty cocoon one, right?

Never heard of a vision like that before. Not even from people who were on the administrator floors.

Guess they just follow me around, then.

[Nope not gonna say she's from a world called exactly that. hahaha...]

I didn't see anything near anything in particular.. [ Not that she remembers, either way. ] I was just walking around and then she was there out of nowhere. I couldn't find her anymore anywhere again after that though.

[ Believe me, she tried. She walked all across that carnival for it. ]

Her? Do you mean Ruana? Was she doing anything?

She said she saw me. [ ... ] Just that. And then she was gone.

[ Well, for a moment she did feel like Ruana was staring right into her head, but to Urotsuki it's a fairly normal thing so she doesn't even think of mentioning it along with the rest. ]

[...Why were so many people not talking about what could have caused the lapses in time? Lightning humored it for a moment, but after a while it got on her nerves far too much when all they were even discussing was the "whats" and the "wheres".]

I don't know about a source, but for an instant it seemed as if they weren't visions, but two periods of time intertwined with one another.

We called this a time paradox in my world. If I had to guess, what's happening now is similar to it.

[She crosses her arms.]

As for what I saw... [That is what everyone is so keen on sharing rather than figuring out the other minute details, right?] It was the roller coaster turning into a monstrosity of computers, wires, and metal that seemed to fill the entire floor. In the center? ...A place for one person to sit, like it was an empty cocoon.

I saw that monstrosity, with a person in it. Ruana as a child, I believe. She seemed to be in pain it almost felt as if she knew I were there, seeing as she said she can 'see everything' and 'there is a lot of everything.'

[And it reminds her of when she had been downstairs and Ruana took her worldwatching with her. Whether or not the woman read her letters or not, Arturia will never know, but it gives her a better idea of what she meant.]

Perhaps the machine is related to what happened? An experiment of sorts that went awry and this is the result?

I'm sorry to interrupt but I got something to add to this. When I walked past the roller coaster it had turned into a great whirring machine sucking in energy from everything around it, a girl's scream came from its center, but I couldn't see her.

Is that of any help?

A bit. That's more than one person who saw such a machine and more than myself who saw a girl there.

It only confirms what we have all seen, though it might be at different points in time.

[In the brief pause after someone finished describing theirs and talked about their vision, Minato speaks up.]

I had them by the concession stands. Four children restrained and undergoing surgeries. Their faces was changing and they're screaming.

[Which fits well with the experiments, and backs up Zelda's vision of many children.]

That's the only one I saw.

More importantly: what was the cause of the explosion before it happened? This is not the first time there has been such an explosion and we currently have no idea who or what could be doing it.

People mentioned Riki believed there were bombs the last time. He would know best if the explosions were caused by a malfunction of the Tower, seeing as he acts as if it is his bride. [She saw how excited he got when talking about his work when they spoke with him a few months ago.]

And that time was followed by similar visions.

Asch folds his arms and leans back against the beanbag he's been settled in on the edge of the group.]

Almost like whoever is responsible wants us to see something.

You think the bombings might be so we will have these visions?

Might be. I would have assumed the first ones were a direct attack at Riki, but Zo never showed up to his carnival, as far as I know.

[Which he could have missed the kid easily, having spent most of the two days the carnival was working properly napping on the ferris wheel.]

It's...it's like the psychoradiation we experienced when we were trapped in the rooms. More coherent, as if in another place and time for a moment...

So...does it mean the psychoradiation was worse then?

[He frowns.]

But nobody got hurt during them. At least, I didn't.

From what friends who weren't trapped told me, when we were in the rooms, we were exposed to a small amount. But below our levels, in unused portions of the tower...that was where it was strongest. But it didn't seem able to inflict harm on us then, only disorient us. So perhaps it was weaker than below our levels but stronger than it was in the locked rooms?

I-I was just walking along. T-then I w-was grabbed by behind and... I c-couldn't move! Then, I w-was picked up and thrown to the ground.

Strangest thing was, someone said "begin destructive testing" during it. And when I came t-to, no one w-was there!
