Well Romeo's didn't and he will share! [Open]

Characters: Romeo and everyone!
Setting: Floor fifteen
Format: Starting in prose but I'll match you!
Summary: Romeo got a puppet theatre for his reward, but it is not much good without puppets!
Warnings: Hopefully none! But will add if there are!

Romeo struggled down to the workshop carrying his puppet theatre. Well truthfuly it wasn't his, it was doctor Casella's and Bianca's too he guessed since she lived with the doctor. The fact that they had brought it to him proved to him that the world definitly hadn't ended, though he hoped that they hadn't hurt Doctor Casella or Bianca when they had taken it.

He felt a little guilty that it was here now and not with Bianca, but he had also noticed that a lot of people's rewards were not very nice things at all. Lots of people were upset, and the bad people were still hurting them.

So Romeo thought he could share his reward with everyone, if he found some of his friends they could put on a show to chear everyone else up. But the puppet theatre didn't have any scenery with it, nor did it have puppets. So he was on his way to go make some.

He leant the theatre against the wall and began to hunt for supplies.

[Oh. The hornless creature is smiling at him. This is actually a first for Eridan.

He shuffles his feet, fingers twisting in his ragged scarf as he regards the child]

I can't say I'vve evver made anything like that, but if you need nails hammered and wwood joined together I might be able to do somethin' about that. Wwhat's it for?

Alright! I'm not very good with hammers... though that was because my hands were hooves... But it might be best if you did the hammering! [Since last time he hammered his friends fingers.]

Its just for fun! You make puppets and then perform stories like at a theatre but without real people!

Hmm. Seems like a wwaste a time to me.

[But he moves to find a hammer and nails. The luxury of making things just for them to be fake, for the sole purpose of telling a story, sounds like a highblood thing. But the kid seems okay, even so. And it might be fun to make something that has no real purpose for survival, for once.]

Wwhat do you mean, your hands wwere hoovves?

Well... it's just meant to be fun. To chear people up... Since everyone is so sad. [He looks a little sad himself that Eridan thinks its a waste of time, since he had wanted to make people happy. He shrugs at the question]

The bad people did it to me, they made my hands and feet hooves and gave me antlers... But I'm better now!

[Eridan gives Romeo a bit of a funny look. Who cares about cheering up people you don't even know? It's one thing if it's your moirail or something, but just random people?

Well, whatever floats your boat.

Then what he's said penetrates, and his eyes widen]

You wwere one a the wweirdo freaks runnin' around here, before? Wwhat happened? You don't look like that anymore.

[Romeo scowled] It's not nice to call people names! [Because it wasn't, and all the people who had been operated on where Romeo's friends and he wouldn't have Eridan insulting his friends!]

Someone killed me... and when I woke up I was better again.

Newwsflash, I'm not nice.

[He bares his teeth, then smirks in a friendly manner. He turns away and pulls out a piece of wood that he thinks might work well for Romeo's purpose]

...You wwoke up after bein' killed? I think by definition that means you wweren't killed at all. But nice a them to put you back to lookin' like this instead a like that, if this is your preference.

You should be nice! [He said it matter of factly] I'm sure you want to be a good person and if your not nice to people then you are being more like a bad person!

[He frowned and nodded, however he had definitly died, he did not know why people didn't stay dead here.] It happens all the time, if you die you just come back. I don't know why.

Nah, nice people are the ones wwho get filleted first. You'vve got to look out for number one, because there's no one wwho'll look out for you. [He shrugs] But wwhen it comes to callin' you a freak, you can't deny that that's wwhat you wwere. A freak dear thing, but noww you're probably normal for your kind, wwhatever that is, so wwhy be insulted?

[He frowns] So death doesn't mean anything? You just come back, and not as a zombie or a rainboww drinker, just back wwith no injuries or anything?

[Romeo scowled again] I'd rather be filleted than be a bad person! [He supposed he had to agree on the fact he had been a freaky dear thing though so he nodded]

A human, I'm a human. Yes, you just wake up in your bed but you can move for a long time, longer than when you first woke up here.

Filleting means bein' killed wwith a sharp knife and probably sloww, and wwho wwants that?

Oh. [He remembers this happening to him, but he had passed out before the end so he thought he got rescued, maybe] I guess I kneww that.

I know what filleting means! [Well he does now, he didn't before Eridan told him but he's not going to admit that.] Being killed with a sharp knife is still better than being a bad person.

Yeah, wwell, besides all a that, if you think I'm so fuckin' bad then wwhy am I helpin' you wwith this out a the goodness a my expanding-an-contracting bladder-based vvascular air-pumpin' system, huh? [He gestures to the piece of wood he picked up] Wwhat do you wwant to make out a this? Or maybe I should just leavve you to your prejudices and go.

[Most of those words just sailed right over Romeo's head and he stood there blinking in confusion for a moment.] Well if you were nice then I wouldn't think you were bad.

Scenery, to fit in the window [He pointed at where the curtains were.] I guess we need to think of a story first...

I'm bein' nice! I offered to help you, for no apparent gain to myself, didn't I?

[He eyes the curtains, looks at the piece of wood] So wwhat, are we talkin' coral reefs or cityscape or wwhat?

[Romeo thought about that for a moment and then nodded] You did. That was a nice thing to do! [This troll boy was confusing, he seemed to be nice and nasty both and that wasn't something Romeo came across often.]

Coral reefs? You mean like under the ocean? That would be fun we could tell a story about fish!

[Mostly he just talks tough, Romeo. He is really a bit of a softie underneath. Like the oyster inside a really prickly and self-absorbed shell.

He's not sure what to make of this boy, either. Aliens are weird.

He brushes his hair back a little, making sure it's jaunty and the purple twist of hair is just the way he likes it, and his facial fins rise up a bit and the spines spread slightly. Ha!]

You see? I am nice.

[He sits down and grabs a pencil, starting to make some marks on the wood]

Dunno wwhat you'd wwant to tell a story about fish for, though. Wwhat kinds a stories is a land glubber gonna tell about fish?

[Yes aliens are weird, not that Romeo knows what an alien is. He nods slowly, because hadn't the boy just said he didn't want to be nice because nice people got filleted.] Yes, you are nice and not a bad person sorry if I made you sad.

Fish are fun, but I don't really know any stories about fish. Do you know any? What's your name? I'm Romeo!

You didn't make me sad. Not like I really care. [And he'll go to his grave insisting on that. Hypocrisy and Eridan are more than nodding acquaintances.]

[He considers that]

I don't really knoww any fish stories, though maybe a pirate story wwould be good? My name's Eridan Ampora.

Oh. Well as long as you are not sad. [This troll was very confusing, Romeo kept smiling though] Pleased to meet you Eridan Ampora. A pirate story would be good! Or we could perform Moby Dick, that's on a boat and has a whale in it!

Whales? [He is intrigued by that and looks up from his penciling. Bitches love wwhales] Wwhat's that Moby Dick story about, then?

[Romeo nods and thinks back to when he read the book, also in the time he was staying with doctor Casella]

The main character is someone nobody really likes and he goes to sea to try and find some people who like him. And then the ship is full of bad people who want to kill a whale named Moby Dick. The main bad man got hurt by Moby Dick so wants revenge and will do anything to hunt him down and kill him.

In the end the whale sinks the ship and eats all the bad humans but Ishmael survives because... [Romeo frowns] Well because he is nice I guess and didn't try and hurt Moby Dick, so gets to live.

Sounds pretty farfetched, if you ask me. [He thinks about this story] But I like the revvenge angle. I think you could do a lot wwith that, and the bit wwhere the wwhale eats the ship wwould be pretty excitin', evven if it's not really accurate to the wway wwhales tend to act.

Well it's meant to be farfetched it's just a story. If stories were like real life they wouldn't be so exciting!

[He nods along though he frowns at the end] I'm pretty sure that's what the book said [The words had been long and there had been a lot of pages]

Maybe that whale was just really really angry.

Wwell, I guess. But that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be accurate in its basic details. You wwouldn't wwrite a story wwhere gravity wwent up, wwould you? Because then evveryone wwould be all irritated and confused.

[He cocked his head] Guess they might a pissed it off enough, wwhat wwith seekin' revvenge. But then leavvin' the one guy alivve, is a bit of a stretch. Howw wwould the wwhale knoww he wwas the one nice guy on the wwhole vvessel?
