Endgame: Eyes I Dare Not Meet in Dreams

Characters: open
Setting: floor 101/hidden floor; June 2
Format: action brackets, please
Summary: Something arrives.
Warnings: psychological horror, physical horror, violence

[The thing arrives on the twenty-third floor where no one is around to see it. But even if there was anyone except the retrieval units there, they would hardly have a chance to spot a single shadow, as the Tower pushes around and caresses the thing, hiding it away. The Tower ripples, then, and delivers the thing up and up, skipping floor after floor.

Floor one-hundred and one goes dark, and the glamour fails entirely. There's a thing lurking about in the darkness, approaching the way to the hidden floor. It can't be seen in this gloom, but it can be heard taking heavy, laden footsteps.]

Fuck-!

[She's fast, but she's not sure if she's fast enough to avoid being crushed, digging her claws into him to skitter around the film covering him now to try and settle on his chest in order to fire off another laser.]

[Lancer had been going up the stairs when all the weirdness started. And now, he can hear the sounds of fighting on the floor directly above him. He rushes over and sees Asagi fighting some new sort of monster.]

The hell...?

[He doesn't say much before quickly scribbling an ansuz rune and sending a burst of fire at the creature. He hopes that he can pull its attention away from Asagi.]

Thank fuck-

[The curse is breathed out as she uses the distraction to dive toward him- and the stairs- hoping he's too stuck on trying to find the rest of them to follow.]

We gotta get out of here.

[As much as she's loathe to admit it, she isn't doing well by herself, and he's adapting to what she can do way too fast. She needs to regroup and reconsider- or at the very least, keep him off her back until she can think of something better.]
