"It's no dream. This portal opened up back in the tower. That's how I wound up here."
He looks around, reaching for his chin.
"There's gotta be a reason why this is happening... Maybe that wasn't the only portal." But that's just a guess. Either way, the only way to go is forward at this rate. Forward into the unknown.

He's still shaken and scared and confused, but there's no reason he can't try and be helpful! His grandpa may be dead, here, but...he raised him to be the best that he could be, and even now Quark was going to honor that.
"Zo's the one that brings everybody from their worlds to the Tower, right? So...so he could be doing it, right? I dunno why but..."
He shuffles his feet, looking down. "Either way I'm happy not to be alone anymore."

"Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere, all right? Why don't we stick together until we get to the next portal? Bet if we put our heads together, we'll find it in no time flat."
Besides, maybe it'll keep his mind off of the surrounding death. Focusing on something constructive makes even darker situations a bit more bearable.
