Format: Action to start, but I'll follow.
Summary: Karkat has been awfully quiet lately, and hasn't quiet been seeking out others. How unusual.
Warnings: TBA

[Karkat has just had too many things on his mind. Staying out of trouble, trying not to make more people furious with him, dodging mealtimes to instead feed Spidermom. The attack on the tower had sated her slightly, but it hadn't helped his psyche any. The visions of Imperial Drones on top of more copies of Spidermom were a little too much for him.

He was still sick to his nutrition sack over the whole thing. If those drones had been real, then he would have been leaving Kanaya to them. What kind of shitty friend was he?

Oh wait. That kind of answered the question. So wherever he happens to be, Karkat will be propped against a wall, staring down at his shoes with an everpresent frown of thought.]

[Ouch. She's doing a pretty good job of pokerfacing, though.]

[His eyelids lower a little, but that's the only change in his demeanor. He is the pro of pokerface.]

Not at all, actually. But whatever. I was just walking around.

[Maybe, but she still catches it. She pauses, then plops down and leans against the wall.]

Whatever.

[And Karkat will do the same, except he's going to go hide under the shade of a tree, because fuck sunlight.]

You let me know when you need me, then.

[GOD FINE maybe it's time to stop avoiding him.

So she meanders on over, swatting at the back of his head with her cane.]

[DOOF. Rubbing the back of his head silently...

Wait for it...]

What the fuck was that for?!

[She rolls her eyes as she plops down beside him.]

To make myself feel better!

[Duh.]

[There's a loud grumble of discontent as he tries to rub out the pain, the more of his sensitive eyes slipping shut.]

Do I look like a fist pounding receptical to you? And before you answer, that was rhetorical.

I didn't use my fist.

[She shoots him a grin experimentally.]

[EYEROLL. Lucky for her, he can't hold back a little scoff, even though he tries to pass it off as a rather unamused gesture.]

Is that supposed to be a comfort?

Yup.

[She swats at him again, much more gently this time.]

What's wrong?

[He takes it without complaint and shrugs.]

Nothing different.

That doesn't really answer my question!

I ain't in the mood to talk about it.

[He runs a hand through his hair neurotically. In truth, the whole nightmare world startled him more than he cared to admit.]

[Part of her wants to push, because she's Terezi and that's what she does. Part of her doesn't, because she's still mad at him. Curiosity wins out.]

You never are.

Hey, you're catching on.

[And this is the part where he stands up and tries to walk away like an asshole.]

[Wow.

Okay nope.

What right does he have to walk away from her when she has every right to hate him? He should be grateful!

So she stands up and snags the arm of his jacket, looking positively livid.]

[Every right, because he's Karkat fucking Vantas. Her grabbing his jacket makes him stop reluctantly, but only enough to try and tug his arm out of her grip.]

Do you mind? Walking here.

[Worst thing he could have possibly done. That makes her snap, and she pulls her arm back to punch him with every ounce of strength her scrawny arm can muster.]

You are so pathetic!

[And not in the good way, either.]

[Ow.

He reels and tries even harder -- forward, backward, up, down, whatever it takes-- to put distance between them, holding the rapidly bruising spot with a light blue glaze in the nearest eye.]

What is your major fucking malfunction?

[He looks more bewildered than angry, though there's definitely the trademark Karkat Vantas Snarl creeping on his expression.]

[Oooooh that was cathartic! She's feeling better already.]

That is the stupidest question I've ever heard, Vantas, and you already know the answer anyway.

[...Maybe she should just punch him again. That might be nice.]

Then fucking let go of me and we can fix the problem here and now!

[Hint: He's going to try and abscond again, a little rougher this time.]
