Setting: Floor 4, the one with the big glass windows and lots of couches.
Format: Action tags!
Summary: Clearly what the tower needs right now is a party, and Willow and Aradia have thrown one.
Warnings: Nada. Good clean fun.

[It's never exactly a clear day around this floor of the tower, but the billowing clouds outside the floor-to-ceiling glass windows are maybe a bit lighter and fluffier. There's a positive atmosphere spread across the whole level, mostly from the colorful lights sprinkled here and there, magical in nature and of all different colors. They glow like small fairies.

But the biggest pieces in the room are the couches and armchairs, strategically laid out in different circles, with tables in the center. Snacks and drinks stolen from the kitchen are on the tables, so nothing too spectacular-- but there are several batches of baked goods that Willow's made, cookies and brownies and so on. There's also some board games and decks of cards placed here and there, the obvious Earth ones included and some not so obvious other ones that she hadn't recognized.

Anyone who wants to is welcome to show up, whether invited or not, whether they know Willow or Aradia or not. Fun is going to be had, darn it. However, everyone on the floor, just for today, is privy to an anti-violence ward that will prevent any motions toward violence from completing. A punch won't land, psychic powers mysteriously won't do anything if they try to cause harm, and so on. As the tower is not fond of being affected in any way, this is an effect the characters have put on them from crossing the threshold from the stairwell, and it will be automatically removed when they leave. It is not noticeable unless they try something or are particularly sensitive to magic.

It also won't last forever, so if you really want to get into a fight, do it while the party's winding down. Willow's wards are good but they aren't up to altering-the-tower-without-major-consequences level, and she's made them mild enough to wear off on their own after several hours.

Nevertheless, I have to point out that in spite of what you have apparently been told, I never lied to you.

[ Which is true. Technically, not a word he said was a lie. He just omitted a few details. And now time to defend his case and subtlety insinuates bad things about his enemies. Invisible insinuations. After all, he's the man who managed multiple times to convince good people he was himself a very nice person...- ]

As for secrets, it's not 'keeping secrets from you'. But I have no reasons to mention the battles I have led in my homeworld to the newcomers I meet. It would be pointless, and I doubt anyone in the tower divulgue all of their past so easily.

Moreso, my version of the events would obviously be biased.

Well, you are not the evil one I know of, in my home.

This may sound ridiculous to you, but I just cannot believe you are fully evil, Ganondorf.

'Evil' is merely a matter of perception, and I fully embrace being called as such if that's the only way for me to stand against established order.

The princess called me evil. Most of my people saw me as a hero. Foreigners had no opinion on the matter. What is evil or good is only a matter of viewpoint.

For your counterpart, I am the incarnation of evil while from my own viewpoint, her doings and the order she follows is the true evil. Wheter I am fuly evil or not only depends of your viewpoint. I do not know what your Link has done, but after all, a couple days ago I never thought I would hold a full conversation with someone named Zelda.

Well, I suppose... But I hardly see how the princess's actions are evil. She has simply taken care of her kingdom, hasn't she?

She has walked in her father's footsteps. She's accepted what he has done and pursued his policy.

[ Lies? Never! Only over-exaggeration, omitting some elements and questionable interpretation of facts. And he does sound very honest, because he actually believes, in part, what he says. ]

Her father waged war to unite Hyrule under his banner, and through war he impoverished the neighboring countries, to enrich his kingdom. Others country were left to die with no care from the Kingdom, no help from the Princess.

Under those circumstances, I was left with two option. Leaving my people to live in misery and die, or doing the best course of action to give them what they deserved and save them. I have no regrets.

Oh. Oh, goodness...

[To be completely honest, this Zelda is still, at her core, a child. She doesn't understand the mechanics of war at all - nor the reasons for it.
But if what he's saying is true...]

... I did not know any of this. I lived in the forest all of my life; I did not know what was going on outside of the trees...

It's not surprising. The winners write history. They write down the books that are then given to the children... And they often omit the details that would embarrass them.

[ Here, his work is done. He even looks a bit pained, maybe he forces it, maybe it's honest. ]

[She can't help looking down at her feet at that, considering it...
Would he have a reason to lie to her? No, not really... She's not the Zelda he knows.
And he is not her enemy, at the core of it all. He's not the Link from her world.
But this sounds too cruel for such a loving country...

Zelda bites her lip in thought, before looking up to him again.]

Perhaps... perhaps you and the princess can talk...

[She wants this to be fixed, but it's also obvious she doesn't want fighting to be what fixes it.]

Hurting more people won't help your cause, Ganondorf. If... if we are alike at all, I am sure the princess would listen.

[ A noble idea. But not only has he always been convinced problems could only be solved through sheer Power, he seriously doubt Zelda would speak with him. let alone approach him.

How to tell her 'no' though... Maybe- ]

The last time I tried talking to the Princess, she did her best to avoid me. Then three of the four Links inhabiting this tower attacked me on sight, without trying to know what my intents were.

They killed me, but I managed to defend myself and took two of them down before I died. The princess died as well, but not by blade. One of those Link was so eager to see me dead, his aim was poor and he hit her instead.

[ Why does he say that? So she can't say he tried to hide it. And if the other Links and Zeldas told her or will tell her, he will look all the more honest. ]

I doubt discussion is possible with her.

I cannot fathom letting someone be treated this way - in such a way that they have to lash out with force and hostility.
