❝friendship affirmation party❞
Characters: LOTS OF PEOPLE just look at the tags, gosh. Start your own threads, hop into others, and generally be free with your tagging decisions.
Setting: Floor 4, the one with the big glass windows and lots of couches.
Format: Action tags!
Summary: Clearly what the tower needs right now is a party, and Willow and Aradia have thrown one.
Warnings: Nada. Good clean fun.
[It's never exactly a clear day around this floor of the tower, but the billowing clouds outside the floor-to-ceiling glass windows are maybe a bit lighter and fluffier. There's a positive atmosphere spread across the whole level, mostly from the colorful lights sprinkled here and there, magical in nature and of all different colors. They glow like small fairies.
But the biggest pieces in the room are the couches and armchairs, strategically laid out in different circles, with tables in the center. Snacks and drinks stolen from the kitchen are on the tables, so nothing too spectacular-- but there are several batches of baked goods that Willow's made, cookies and brownies and so on. There's also some board games and decks of cards placed here and there, the obvious Earth ones included and some not so obvious other ones that she hadn't recognized.
Anyone who wants to is welcome to show up, whether invited or not, whether they know Willow or Aradia or not. Fun is going to be had, darn it. However, everyone on the floor, just for today, is privy to an anti-violence ward that will prevent any motions toward violence from completing. A punch won't land, psychic powers mysteriously won't do anything if they try to cause harm, and so on. As the tower is not fond of being affected in any way, this is an effect the characters have put on them from crossing the threshold from the stairwell, and it will be automatically removed when they leave. It is not noticeable unless they try something or are particularly sensitive to magic.
It also won't last forever, so if you really want to get into a fight, do it while the party's winding down. Willow's wards are good but they aren't up to altering-the-tower-without-major-consequences level, and she's made them mild enough to wear off on their own after several hours.
You're really here to have fun, though, right? You knew where to go because of the network post.]

Persona...? Oh! I met a boy on the network during that time who said he was having a similar problem with his 'Persona'. Not... to the same extent, of course, but... perhaps the incidents were related.
no subject
[ Pausing. ]
He... he got hurt by her, too.
[ Sighhh. ]
A Persona is like... well, for normal people, it's a mask used to face hardships and protect you. Your 'other' self, summoned to fight for you. A tamed Negativity that has become your strength. I don't know how much you know about magic, but generally what sort of magic or strength a person's Persona has depends on their personality. Mine are heavily aligned with ice, for example. Usually they're based off of mythology, as well--stories or creatures from lore that would manifest as 'you', in a way.

[And then he tried to explain what a Persona was and half succeeded. Minato's explanation is much more thorough, however, and she nods.]
I see... I am familiar with magic, but not any that needs to be channeled in such a way. It is a rather fascinating concept - a protective entity simultaneously separated from and inextricably attached to one's identity.
[Not gonna lie, she's kind of curious as to what hers would be like if she had one, now.]
no subject
[ He doesn't mind, really. She seems to be interested in it, and as long as he can CONTROL it, there shouldn't be any problems, right? ]
Just... not here. I think people would... well, they'd probably not... expect it, much.
no subject
[Hi, she is forever curious about magical things.]
no subject
No, I don't mind. I'm used to it, though I have to admit that the others, like Minami, have... well, she's different than my team.
[ Care to follow him out into the hall, Zelda? ]
no subject
If you do not mind my asking... how so?
no subject
What you saw the other day wasn't... her. It must have been the Tower, because her Personas aren't anything like that.
And... well, hers should be natural. She shouldn't have any problems with it.
[ He hesitates here, slightly, again, now that they're somewhat away from the others and in a deserted hallway with some open space. ]
And... it's just that I'd be uncomfortable saying that until after this, because I really don't want you to worry or anything.
[ That all said, he pulls out his Evoker from the holster on his belt. ]
no subject
Problems? ... Are you one of the 'others' Ken spoke of? Whose Personas go 'out of control' regularly?
[Then she's shaking her head, a concerned frown upon her face.]
Minato, if this is going to strain you in some way, I do not wish for you to do it. Not for merely sating my curiosity.
no subject
No, we don't have any problems summoning. It's not going to be a strain. ... Besides, if something was going to happen, it wouldn't be because of me.
[ So he just raises his Evoker to his head with a sort of flourish... then there is a loud bang, and the sound of glass shattering. But instead of blood, there are blue crystals that form from the side of his head slowly rising upward and behind him, spiraling until they begin to reveal the form of Thanatos, huge and imposing and floating behind him while he emits a sort of blueish light as well, eyes almost glowing a bright blue. The coffins and chains rattle quite a bit, but there is no sense of danger. Zelda's senses are very in-tune, so she'll probably sense the sort of death it permeates, anyway, though it's sort of a... controlled brutality. ]
My Personas are specialized in elemental and instant death by light or darkness magic, though ice most of all; support skills for battle, minor healing, and to a lesser extent, physical-based skills and inflicting Fear in enemies.
... In short, they're more effective for long-range than close. Thanatos is my strongest Persona, though he is weak to Fire and Pierce skills, such as bullets or arrows, and I myself personally use firearms and one-handed blades in battle.
[ He lets the Persona float there for a time while explaining this before he finally lets go, the light and the Persona fading into darkness. ]
If you'd like to ask anything, I don't mind.
no subject
Once Thanatos is gone, she releases the breath she had been holding, a hand covering her racing heart.]
That... felt like death itself. Does every Persona exude such a sense of... viciousness?
no subject
... Hm. That bad? You must be particularly sensitive to Death Arcana, then. No, not generally, Thanatos is just... well, to put it bluntly, in Greek Mythology, he was the Embodiment of Death. A Reaper, essentially.
I guess that might seem scary to someone who isn't used to it, but our powers are... probably considered darker than most Personas, too. That honestly can't be helped; it's just the nature of how we... were 'given' them.
