PARTY TIME!

Characters: Marty and EVERYONE ELSE. Start your own threads, mingle, make CR!
Setting: Floor 38, the big lounge floor just under the dorms, BEST STORM VIEW
Format: Your choice
Summary: STORM WATCHING PARTY! So the power is out and there's tons of thunderstorms. But don't let that get you down, WATCH THE THUNDERSTORMS! Also pancakes and coffee.
Warnings: STORM WATCHING ! Lots of thunder

Marty had enough of the darkness in the tower and the creeping monsters, so when he looked at the mass of pancakes the automatic pancake maker had made, he loaded them up along with the coffee maker, coffee, the syrup, and toted them all the way up to Floor 38.

There was no way he was going to let those massive stacks of pancakes go to waste, and this was the closest floor to the dorms that actually had some place to hang out, so he set the pancakes up as a sort of continental breakfast, and sat watching the storm.

What he hadn't expected was the people to start trickling in.

Even though the Tower was still hauntingly off, the storm was almost a comfort. It was a natural weather pattern that reminded him of how torrential the sea could get on its worst nights, and he enjoyed simply listening to the sound of thunder and rain.

Fado had thus seated himself in one of the bean bags, a cup of the strange drink on the ground next to him. He was leaning back, facing the glass walls, and playing out a slow tune on his violin to match the rhythm of the storm.

Oh look, more musical people. Taro is sipping a cup of coffee, trying to get his brain back in order after being rather abruptly reminded of powers being unavailable for use on certain floors. He wanders over to Fado, sitting down nearby and listening. The violin looks strange, but who was he to judge?

When he's done - or at least pauses for long enough - Taro claps in appreciation.

Fado looked up in mild surprise when he heard the clapping, and stayed his bow in favor of looking up towards the source. When he saw Taro, he gave a smile, and sat up slightly to bow his head.

"Hehh-- I'm glad you enjoyed it!"

"Well, you're really good at it."

He grinned, and held out his hand. "My name's Taro. What's your name?"

"I have practiced for many years, but it is comforting to know that people still take joy in my music."

Fado was beaming, and he set his violin down a moment to shake Taro's hand. "I am Fado, of the Kokiri Tribe. It is an honor."

"The honor's all mine. Have you been here long, Fado?"

Making new friends is an opportunity to get more information, after all!

"I'm afraid I cannot give you an exact frame of time, though it has been a considerably shorter amount of time compared to many here, I'm sure."

Being an un-aging forest elf thing with natural longevity and being dead for thousands of years kind of did a number on your ability to gauge time properly.
hachitaro: (unsure.)

Probably, yeah.

"... So would that be weeks, months, or years?"

"Months I should say. Or Perhaps a rather large amount of weeks." He stroked the strings on his bow idlely as he thought, unable to come up with an entirely satisfactory answer.

"At the least, not even a year."
hachitaro: (suspicious.)

"Huh... gotcha. I'm just trying to find out who's been here the longest... I'm interested in collecting information about this place and the people who run it."

He could be patient. Probably. He'd spent enough time skulking around offices and meetings collecting information, after all.

"There are many aside from me that have been here for far longer, that I can assure you."

He frowned a tad, lifting his violin and idly brushing the bow on the strings. "Although I'm not sure how reliable measuring the passage of time will be. Without so much as a sun in the sky, it becomes difficult to tell. I'm not sure how important a measure it is to take either."
childhero: (ocarina ∆ is this how it goes?)

The sound of the violin is familiar, and it's comforting. It's only natural for Link to be drawn to it, even if he didn't know who the musician was.

He comes and stands next to Fado's bean bag and, after a moment of listening to the tune, he draws out his ocarina. He casts a questioning look at Fado, as if asking if it was okay for him to join in.

Fado glanced at Link for a brief moment when he came over as he continued playing. When he saw the ocarina, he nodded and his smile broadened. He continued his tune in time with the rhythm of the storm, but also adapted it to a something that seemed quintessentially Kokiri, that you might hear in the forest on a particularly rainy day.

It's... perfect.

When Link lifts the Ocarina of Time to his lips, there is a smile there.

It seems this is how we are always going to meet, he thinks as they play. With music. ... I like that.

To just be near one another, sharing music together, no words needed, it's... nostalgic, almost painfully so, but Link welcomes it. He allows himself to think of the forest, of his friends, of the Great Deku Tree. Of Saria. Of Navi.

This is for you, he thinks.

The accompaniment of the Ocarina of Time was always an honor and an excitement; and honestly he could go on forever playing such a tune that reminded him of home, but eventually he draws the notes slower, and lets the tune fade into a happy silence.

And afterwards, Fado simply looked at link and gave a bow of his head.
