Summary: STORM WATCHING PARTY! So the power is out and there's tons of thunderstorms. But don't let that get you down, WATCH THE THUNDERSTORMS! Also pancakes and coffee.
Warnings: STORM WATCHING ! Lots of thunder

Marty had enough of the darkness in the tower and the creeping monsters, so when he looked at the mass of pancakes the automatic pancake maker had made, he loaded them up along with the coffee maker, coffee, the syrup, and toted them all the way up to Floor 38.

There was no way he was going to let those massive stacks of pancakes go to waste, and this was the closest floor to the dorms that actually had some place to hang out, so he set the pancakes up as a sort of continental breakfast, and sat watching the storm.

What he hadn't expected was the people to start trickling in.

[He gives a light shrug.]

That labyrinth sure wore me out, though.

[Suzaku nodded, it had exhausted him as well...] I'm sorry... for losing you.

No, don't be.

[He sighs, shaking his head.]

It was a mess out there. No matter what, most of us were going to die.

I know... [He still feels he could have done better, to have kept track of Riku, for Sora not to die or at least not so quickly... To have saved Dolorosa, to have somehow stopped Gamzee... so many mistakes.]

Impressive storm...

[He looks out at the storm. It's definitely impressive... and a little unnerving at the same time.]

Makes me glad we're all inside, though.

Yes, it's a fierce one. [He liked storms... or had liked storms. As a child, he remembered a particularly big one the summer Lelouch and Nunnally lived at the shrine with him. For a moment Suzaku remembered Nunnally being scared of the thunder, them huddling together out of the rain, carefree at the end of summer.

Before the war, when flashes and bangs were just nature, scary but also magical. Now storms just reminded him of F.L.E.I.J.A. He frowned against the much less happy memory.] I hope no one got stuck out on the islands. [Those steps were treacherous enough without rain.]

Islands?

[Riku's mind immediately jumps to his old world for a second. The fact that the islands were ravaged by a storm and Heartless before...

Wait, that's right. here are islands in the tower...]

Well, we could take a look, but that's probably not the best idea right now.

[Suzaku nodded wondering why Riku sounded so confused, perhaps he hadn't thought of them as islands, it was the only word Suzaku could think of, but it was not like they were on water.]

It's probably not, but I would hate to think that anyone was trapped out there. [He draws his cloak around himself.] You should probably stay here.

Are you kidding?

[He places a hand on his hip.]

If you're going out there, then you'll need somebody to watch your back.

[Suzaku looks back at him and nods] Very well then. [He appreciated the company and he knew the kid could handle himself.]
