Summary: Sora awakens after a month-long nap.

Notes: If Vanitas stole your character's stuff and left it with Sora - Gamzee and Taiki are the two that I can think of off the top of my head - feel free to come retrieve it in this log! Sora will gladly give it back.



Dorms - Locked to Xion

[It was with a loud yawn and a stretch that Sora, for the first time in over a month, opened his eyes. He didn't realize how long it had been, though - he came up here to take a short nap, so surely it was only a few hours. Right? Still, he felt a little drowsy, like he had overslept or something.

He'd had a lot of dreams, too, he remembered. That was pretty weird.

Sora sat up, planted his feet on the floor, and was started by a loud HONK that woke him right up.

...why were there horns on the bottom of his shoes?

And why did his face feel like it was covered in paint?]

Oh great.

[Welp. Time for a walk of shame to the bathroom to figure out just how bad this was. He takes off his shoe, for now - he can worry about that later.]

Anywhere Else - Open!

[Well, after finding out that he's been napping for just a little more than a few hours, Sora's eager to...well, for starters, to get something to eat. But mostly, he's eager to catch up with people!

So mission: talk to everyone is a go.]

[Funny how you mention 'get something to eat,' because guess who's been cooking a lot the last two weeks? Yep. It's this guy.

[...Did someone say food? Because that's very relevant to Sora's interests right now. Especially since the cafeteria menu basically looks like Greek right now, with all the new and...creative...dishes that Sora can't make heads or tails out of.

So Sora is, in fact, going to hang out in the kitchen and bother Yu. Especially since it's apparently been a month since he's seen him!]

Hey, Yu! What are you up to?

[pitiedthefool]

[Yes, someone definitely did say food. Like, say, the large quantities he has been preparing since he first returned to the tower. The familiar voice gets him to pause for a brief second to nod a hello before making sure nothing is burning. And of course, nothing is.]

Making lunch. [Was that an amused look? ...Yep, it was.] Good to see you again, Sora.

[derping]

[The pause after the nod was okay with Sora; he just watches, and looks around the kitchen a bit. Honestly, he wished he was better at cooking - he could do a few things, but he didn't want to mess up and waste the food if someone else wanted it.

Still, it would be nice to have a little more variety every month...]

Good to see you too, Yu! [And there's that good old smile again; Sora really was happy to see him, even if it didn't feel like nearly as much time has passed on his end.] So, what are you making?

Hallway of doom!

[Well, whenever Sora wanders out into the hall, he's sure to find one slightly tired looking Riku. He was probably up late fighting monsters, buuut once he spots Sora, he'll be giving him a wide eyed stare and rushing his way.]

[derping]

[Sora finally does wander back into the hall a little while after talking to Xion. His face is finally clean, and now that he's awake...honestly, he's feeling pretty good! A little slow, still, but maybe the month-long nap wasn't a totally bad thing.

Still, he couldn't help but wonder how the heck it had happened in the first place. People don't just fall asleep and wake up a month later - something must have made him sleep that long, but...what?

Well, it's on that thought that he spots Riku, who doesn't look NEARLY as well-rested. Sora doesn't run to catch up with him, though - he just stops to wait, since Riku's already running his way.]

Hey, Riku! Guess it's...been a little while, huh?

[It's still weird for Sora to think about that, though - it really doesn't feel like all that long since he last talked to his friend.]

[keybearer]

More like a month.

[Once he reaches Sora, Riku places his hands on his hips and gives him a pointed look. Man, does Sora have any idea how worried he was? ...How worried everyone else probably was?

...well, maybe, maybe not. He was missing for a while.

Sigh.]

What happened to you?

Well...

[He sees that look, and...can't really object to it, tempting as it is to do so. He WAS gone for a month, after all. In a place like this...

All of his friends were probably really worried. Sora didn't like that idea one bit.

Still, at least this will be pretty easy to explain! Y'know, since he...doesn't actually know what happened.]

To tell you the truth, I don't have a clue. I just went to my room to take a nap, but Xion told me that it's been a whole month since then.

cafeteria

[Well hello Sora that was an influence on Cross's personality, why not have some yummy food. Food is always good. The fifteen year old is just sitting at a table chewing away on whatever is being served this month.]

[derping]

[Food really IS always good, especially after a long - very long, in this case though maybe not comparatively speaking, for his canon - nap. When Sora finally emerges from the kitchen with something to eat, he finds that the room is mostly empty...thankfully, only mostly! He doesn't know the person sitting at that table, but maybe they won't mind having some company.]

Mind if I sit here?

[Cross turns his head towards the stranger that has just popped up. He is looking quite eloquent with a piece of bread sticking out of his mouth.]

Yeamgh Goth ajkhead.

[Oh, he's talking with his mouth full. Swallowing the whole piece, he grins towards Sora.]

Yeah, go ahead. It's nice to meet you, the name's Cross.

I AM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG Reno is teasing her over the networks so I got distracted ALSO (1/2)

[And Xion is just leaving her room, still thinking a little bit embarrassedly about that discovery about the blind date thing. And maybe she'll go try to get some food, or talk to Reno, or look for some of the people who are missing...

And then she looks up and freezes, relief and happiness blooming in her chest]

Sora-!

[And she's about to run over to him-]

[And then she notices his face and OH MY GOD IT'S LIKE THE DUSKS AND ROXAS ALL OVER AGAIN]

Wh-what happened?!

[derping]

Xion!

[His face lights up at the sight of his friend, even though he realizes a moment later just how silly he probably looks. Even though there's not much he can do about that, his expression still fades a little at the sudden awareness. He REALLY needs to fix this...whatever it is. He's almost afraid to find a mirror, to be honest.]

I dunno. [He rubs the back of his neck and looks over to the side, like he always does when he's a little embarrassed.] I must have been sleeping pretty hard, because it feels like someone drew on my face. [A pause.] A lot.

Floor 38

[pauldrons]

[Mission: Talk to Everyone? Well, that sounds like one heck of a mission to undertake! The good news is that it should be easy, considering that Zack's only one level down from the dorms, seated on the floor with a notepad in his hands and a pen tucked behind his ear. Looks very scholarly, doesn't he?

He also appears to be an easy mark if Sora wants to be funny and sneak up on him. Feel up to the challenge, sleepy head?]

[Geez, and here Sora thought he was in for a challenge! But here's someone already, only a short walk away from his room. That'll be one person down, anyway.

In all seriousness, though, Sora's pretty happy to see Zack - it's been awhile since they met, and he was hoping they'd have a chance to talk again. He looks pretty distracted, though...

...maybe that just means this is a good chance to practice those stealth skills Riku doesn't think he has.

Sora enters the area very slowly, trying his very best (and sort of succeeding!) to not make any sound. He keeps this up, hoping he can get close enough without Zack noticing, and then...

He trips over a beanbag chair, completely ruining any hope of stealth when he comes crashing down to the floor.

Oops.]

[What makes this funnier is that Sora would have made it to sneak up on Zack if not for the tumble because he's just that distracted. Well, that and he hadn't been listening for anyone coming up behind him, so he's quite startled when Sora falls over and he whirls around, pen falling to the ground with a light clatter. For a minute, he just stares and blinks, surprised at what he sees, before he...bursts out laughing.

Sorry, Sora. It's gonna take him a minute to stop, and he's still snickering when he finally manages to do so. Oh, goodness.]

You okay?

Dorm Hallway

[Hopefully he won't be too disturbed by the racket behind him when a certain someone rounds the corner, sees him, and promptly drops the sketchbook and accompanying drawing materials she was holding. Maybe once upon a time she'd have kept a closer eye on the activity of his heart; now, well... so soon after that time spent with her powers totally out of her control, the idea of using them makes her feel more than a little ill. So it's to her great surprise that she catches sight of him, awake and alive and-- oh, goodness.]


Sora?

[She says it as if she's uncertain whether she should believe her eyes.]

[derping]

[He jumps a bit when he hears the noise, startled. It's only a second before he's looking to see what it was, and...hey, that's definitely someone he's happy to see!]

Huh-oh, Naminé!

[Immediately he starts heading in her direction, though he gets a little more worried as he gets closer. She looks...really surprised to see him.

Which probably makes sense, considering how long he was asleep. But still...

When he gets there, he takes a second to pick up the dropped sketchbook and drawing materials, handing both to her with a smile.]

Are you okay?

[lethechained]

[So she's not seeing things, then? Or at least if she is, she's hearing them, too. Not that she'd put it past the Tower, really, but... well, she hesitates, studying him. She could check, all too easily, but as in some cases before, she does not, for many of the same reasons.]

[Slowly, though, a smile blossoms on her face, and she almost takes a step forward to meet him, stops when she realizes she's almost stepped on her sketchbook, looks down, and-- oh, he's got it covered.]

[She takes the materials a tad numbly, but by now her expression is quite happy.]

You're awake...! [-- Wait, he asked a question, didn't he?] -- Oh. Oh, yes, I'm-- fine. [Now, anyway, since all of those previous troubles have finally subsided for the time being.] But what about you? You were asleep for so long...!

Lower Library

Rox had been doing better, emotionally speaking, lately. But that was due in part to him putting his frustration and other not-positive feelings in to his job in the library. The matter of today's neurotic stressing? The note he'd left a certain spiky brunette.

Roxas had realized a week after he'd left Sora a note that the universe could be very cruel to him with this. What if Sora didn't know him? He'd sort of assumed Sora would know him, but technically they hadn't exactly...spoken in the time they'd both been here. He couldn't go back and get the note, and if Sora didn't know anything either, then Roxas' reason for talking to him was kinda...

Overall, his fussing was making him put the books away a little harshly, but hey! He was actually doing his job for once!

The note had been bugging Sora ever since he had discovered it - a few days late, since he hadn't exactly thought about picking up his pillow for anything. When he did discover it, though, the gears in his brain had started turning. Who was Roxas? The name didn't ring any bells, though he worried that he was just forgetting someone he had met here.

Riku had known, though he seemed to reaction when Sora asked had seemed kinda weird. But at least now he knew what he was looking for - someone who looks like Ventus, and works at the library...

Well, there's a very familiar blonde head of hair by those shelves over there. His clothes even look kind of different from Ven's. That's got to be him!

"Um, hey." Sora said once he was finally in earshot. "Are you...Roxas?"

25th floor

[Well... if he's ever had wanted the chance to try to sneak up on Riku, today he's got it, because currently Riku is sitting at his spot far in the twenty-fifth floor, a rather heavy book in his lap, notepad right beside his right hand.

He at very least seems like he isn't paying much attention to his surroundings.]

[Well, if at first you fall flat on your face - literally don't succeed, try and try again! Even if trying to sneak up on Zack failed, it can't hurt to give it another shot.

He goes through the steps carefully; walk slowly, don't make any sound...he'd walk on tiptoe, but that's probably not even physically possible in those shoes.

So close! Or was Riku just pretending not to notice him?

Well, there was one way to find out. He finally stops when he's a foot or so behind, and leans over as if he's trying to look at the notepad.]

What're you up to?

[Try and try again indeed, that's the right spirit! Sora will probably have to keep it up too... at least if the total lack of surprise on Riku's face is any indication, as he turns his head up to face his best friend. (Even if there hadn't been a few quiet sounds to give him away, Riku knows his scent by heart and it's almost impossible for him not to notice him approach. So well... if Sora will ever manage to sneak up on him, is probably a bit questionable.)

He raises his eyebrow a little, his expression very much reading 'What does it look like?'.]

Awake again, are you? I was about to think you might be going for a new personal slacker record.

[Of course, that record (to Riku's knowledge) is about ten months. So Sora better be not be trying to take on that challenge.]
