Summary: Just the new guy probably wishing he wasn't so ~mysterious~

Room 3-14
[Finding and getting his bandages put back over his eyes was Shiki's first priority. With his power, his brain continually degraded when he saw the things he shouldn't. Death. He was used to it, a lifelong companion who would never abandon him, but the human brain just couldn't deal with it. To prevent himself from degrading any further, he always wore them, making him blind to the world around him and relying on his instincts and other senses.

Thanks to the note, he quickly found them but he made sure to take a look around before those bandages were wrapped tight around his eyes. It was all too eery but he was used to it. That was his every day life. The only thing left to do was check his surroundings. Both inside this room and outside.]



Dormitory hallways
[Once he made it outside the room, he did the best thing that came to mind. Put a hand against the wall and walk, keeping the contours in mind for later use. Sure, it was freezing cold, but when you spend some time in Germany in the winter (living outdoors), you gain a certain level of tolerance for such things. Before he ever actually runs into anyone though, Shiki is quick to walk around or step out of the way. He can't see but he can still hear and, more importantly, feel where people are.

Though, if he does come near someone, he gives a small smile.]

Floor 11
[Open air was what he was seeking. There was danger near the edge so Shiki stayed quite a bit back from it. But he did take a deep breath, partially wondering if the air was poisonous but not spending too much time thinking on it.]

Where did things go wrong?

[Or more specifically, how did he end up here? This wasn't the best place to be when he had to be by Arcueid's side, even if she was still in her eternal sleep.]

Well, I don't know if it will be the most important, but it is very important. So, let's be off!

[And with that, Tohko grabbed the boys hand with her free one and started walking towards the Cafeteria, making sure to be by his side at all times.]

[He didn't have any trouble keeping up, thankfully. Shiki didn't worry much about running into things either, since she seemed too nice to pull off a practical joke like that.]

[Eventually, not having run into any monsters or practical jokes, Tohko led the boy inside the Cafeteria and had him sit down at a table.]

This is the Cafeteria! I know you can't see it..but can you remember how we got here so that you can make your way back later? And if you're hungry, we can pause for some food..even though it might not be the best you've ever tasted.

I've lived on my own for a long while so finding my way around places I've been is an easy task. But I suppose bad food is better than no food at all.

Ah, alright then! That's good to hear then. Although..you'll have to put up with passable food for the whole month. There's nothing here but nutrition bars, nutrition bars, and more nutrition bars. However..you first have to eat a bowl of oatmeal.

[Tohko took said bowl from one of the drones and put it in front of the boy, along with a spoon.]

[It'll be better than eating unseasoned meat cooked over a fire, at least.

Though he doesn't have trouble grabbing the spoon and taking a bite.]

Well, if you're a newcomer and you don't eat the oatmeal first, you'll throw up whatever else you try to eat instead. It's a weird rule, but that's how it goes here.

How unfortunate. [He didn't like the way it sounded but he wasn't really all that willing to test it either.]

So am I. It would be terrible if you didn't know and puked your guts out. I've seen it happen to two other people, and someone else warned me about it, so I can assure you that I'm not lying, if you were worried about that.

The only type of person who'd offer to help out a stranger is an innocent person or someone with bad intentions. I'd know if you had bad intentions so....

I suppose so..but don't you mean a kind person instead of just an innocent one? And how would you be able to tell if I had bad intentions or not?

You spoke about how dangerous this place is. Only an innocent person would assume that a random person passing by isn't dangerous.

As for how, you learn really quick how to figure things out.

Well, I don't know if you're dangerous or not..but I thought I should let you know what to watch out for so that you could be prepared.

[Tohko doesn't really think of herself as innocent, but she isn't going to mind if this boy thinks that she is. She's just making conversation.]

I've spent the past few years dealing with those kind of cruel people so they won't be a bother. That's not really something to brag about.
