[OPEN] MAGICAL MIDGET ADVENTURES... STARTO!
Characters: [AU7] Waver Velvet, OPEN
Setting: Dormitory floors, fourth floor, random floors.
Format: Action
Summary: Waver searches for her family, sulks around as Wavers do, and then explores a little.
Warnings: May include monsters etc. I'll update accordingly.
Dormitories
[Waver doesn't want to believe what she's been told. It would be so much easier to tell herself this is a prank, or she's being held for ransom, or... something. And that's why, as soon as she's able, the magus wanders the dormitory floors with only one goal on her mind...]
Brother! Brother? Derry! Where have you gone? Derry...!
[The girl's search for her sibling is more than a little frantic, and she'll stop to ask anyone if they've seen him, whether she recognises them or not.]
Floor 4
[After giving up her search, Waver can be found sulking in an out-of-the-way chair with her bowl of oatmeal and a small pile of books pilfered from the library. Every now and then she makes a note of something on her phone, but for the most part she just looks like your average Waver, trying to distract herself.]
???
[Eventually she'll get bored with reading and attempt to go exploring. She's not daft enough to leave the stairs on any floor that looks suspicious, but sometimes things don't go according to plan, do they? It only occurs to her after some time that she should probably rush back to her room before nightfall, if what she heard was true...]

Fourth floor
Sighing to herself, Tohko approached Waver.]
Pardon me, but are you a new resident here?
no subject
I am, actually. You're not, I assume?
no subject
No, I'm not. However, if you want, I'll tell you what I can about the Tower. That way, you'll be better prepared for the future.
no subject
[She isn't sure if she should be grateful, or suspicious.]

[Taking a quick breath, Tohko began her usual infodump.]
As for this tower, it's called Animus. Four people now run it-Riki, a secretive man who builds the Tower and is in charge of the records, Zo, a small child who can bring souls here, Jason, a sadistic medical doctor who sometimes experiments on the residents. He, I believe, helps transfer your soul when you die. Finally, there’s Ruana, a woman who has been here for thousands of years and doesn’t quite human empathy or emotions, and hates it when people go against her. She may seem sweet, but she is capable of removing free will and canalizing her own Administrators.
There used to be a fifth Administrator named Dax. He was the most humane of the bunch and did his best to protect us from Jason and the monsters here. He even managed to sneak people down to the Administrative levels in order to let them know more about this place. However, when he tried to go against Ruana..she killed and ate him, possibly absorbing his powers in the process. He was a good man.
Death isn’t permanent here. If you die, you’ll just wake up in your bed the next day. However, don’t throw your life away for foolish reasons. For one thing, you’ll probably get punished if you die too many times, and for the other…your body is made up of recycled parts. Only your soul was pulled to this universe. Your body, and the ones you’ll have afterward, are not your original body. That’s why you have the collar. It helps make sure your soul safely stays in your body.
I’m sorry to say that your universe is destroyed. You may see people you know here, but they won’t be from your own universe or point in time. I don’t know exactly how our universes were destroyed, but I do know that it was caused by Ruana watching our universes, for some reason.
Monsters roam the Tower at night, and some of the higher floors have monsters that attack if you get too close. If you can’t fight, then I would suggest learning. There are plenty of people here who would be willing to teach you.

[It's too much. It's just way too much. Waver is completely overwhelmed and crushed by the girl's words, and yet part of her hopes that such a ridiculous thing can't even be true. She reaches up to wipe at her face with her sleeve before she even realises she's started to cry.]
Ah, I'm sorry, I just-- I hoped it was some awful prank...
no subject
I know..I'm just trying to tell you what I know so that you're not surprised in the future. It's alright..don't worry about it. I hoped for six months that it was all just a lie..and had the same reaction. So don't worry about it..but I can tell you that this is the truth.
no subject
[So she'll never see Derry again, then. Her brother is completely lost to her. That hurts more than anything else, and Waver starts to hiccup from all the effort she's putting into not crying her heart out on the spot.]
Why didn't they save him too?
no subject
[..And that comment stung. Mostly because it was something Tohko felt too, on some levels.]
..Because Zo can't pull more than one soul at a time without fusing multiple souls together and creating a monster.
no subject
[We have hit the hurt and anger portion of this emotional roller coaster!]
no subject
Because if he saves at least one person, than that one person can try to work to restore everything. It's cruel, and he doesn't like it either, but that's how it works. Now..tell me, would you want your loved one here, all alone?
no subject
[Hope once again springs eternal! So much so that she completely ignores the question.]
no subject
Yes. It's possible that once we restore the universes, we can also restore the souls that lived there.

There are multiple universes out there, and Zo pulls many people from them. There are already two other Wavers in the Tower..they're both boys, and one is about your age, and the other is a bit older.

[It's Waver's turn to sigh, running a hand through her hair.]
I've been hearing that a lot today.
no subject
Oh, don't worry about it! It's your first day here, so it's a lot to take in. Don't worry about it.
no subject
[She can't think of any other reason Tohko would go out of her way to approach her and then comfort her like that.]
no subject
I'm friends with both of them..but you know, even if I wasn't, I still would have talked with you.
