Midsummer Bash

Setting: Floor 25, July 5, afternoon
Format: Open
Summary: Lancer throws a party for midsummer, since the Tower obviously needs a breather.
Warnings: None so far.

[To be honest, Lancer wanted to have the party in the evening, sometime around twilight. That would have been the most romantic time for it. Unfortunately, when in the Tower, one had to account for things like monsters. As a result, he had to hold it during the afternoon. But it wasn't too bad of a compromise.]

[This was, of course, a more simple affair than Diarmuid's birthday. For food, he had hauled a couple of tables up here and lined the table with dinner food. The centerpiece was a cake which had a heart drawn on it in red frosting. In one corner of the meadow, he had used some boxes and tarp to make some sort of booth where people could hide from the sun (and steal kisses off of each other). In the center of the meadow, he had piled a large stack of wood, perfect for lighting a bonfire by the party's end. The structures had all been surrounded with wreaths made from the meadow's flowers.]

[As soon as he's done with the setup, Lancer will sit down next to the firewood pile, waiting for people to come.]

Ah...he'd feel a little awkward if his friend got tips from a womanizer, wouldn't he?

[He gives her a sheepish grin.]

Then...we don't have to. Not if you're worried about what he'd say.

He would if he was here, yes.

[ A small grin. ]

Is it wrong if I am still loyal to someone who has not been around for years, Lancer?

No, of course not.

[He doesn't even hesitate to answer.]

I am sorry. Maybe he would like for me to move on.

[puppy_lancer]

It's good to move on. Just do it at your own pace. Maybe you'll find another special guy. One who isn't a cheater.

Perhaps I will, and please do not think of yourself like that, even if I have used those words with you. You are a nice man, Lancer, and I am proud to call myself a friend.

Same here. I'm glad to be friends.

...But tell me if you find a nice boy. I'd like to meet him. As a friend if nothing else.

You do now. Either that, or some sort of brother.

I would not mind both of those.

...Wait, you'd be the older sister, wouldn't you?

Unless if you are somehow older than 7,500, then yes, I would be.

[puppy_lancer]

...Right. Man, it would be nice to be the older brother for once, though.

Would you like to be one, then? I do not mind being the elder, but if you would like to take on that role, then I would not mind.

[puppy_lancer]

Nah, it's fine. You've probably got more advice on matters than I do, since you saw more shit in your lifetime.

Very well, I will happily be the older sibling. Perhaps you can help me be more empathetic because I can be rather brutal when people do not need it.

Really? Haven't noticed it much.

[In fact, it seems the only subject she's brutal about is herself.]

There are times I have been rather brutally honest with people. I suppose it is a good thing, if not stifling.

[ It's a part she's working on, even now. ]

And that's not a problem. I certainly like honesty better than anything else.
