A dead man's wish

Summary: While Naoya gets the reveal started on the network, Enoch takes care of physical copies.

*There's something different about the tower today. Not in a big way, not like the power or glamours are out. For one thing, everyone with a mailbox will get this note, unsigned:

Souls in our world are defined as the self. Even those without anything that can be considered a soul in their own worlds would manifest one here. Souls are extremely resilient - they can be torn out of their body and survive provided they are removed in the right manner. But they shouldn't be of course - the side effects might be disastrous in ways we can't quite understand. It's happened here before. Souls can be torn out of this world the same as in any other. Here though they can split - that's extremely important. They can split and merge if you have the right skillset. Never lose your soul in the Tower of Animus. None of yours are yet lost - but never lose it! They won't come back whole if you let her swallow them up. The power must have gone by now - she'll want to restore the tower. Everyone who ended up trapped on their own worlds is now in grave danger! She can't take souls as Zo can, but she can siphon them and she can squeeze all the energy out of them.

As soon as this message is decoded put it in as many places as possible! Put it on the network make copies and plaster them on the walls. Do everything you can so that as many people read this message as possible. There isn't enough energy to erase everyone's memories!

Remember - souls born here can be split and reabsorbed here. A soul born elsewhere can be split there, but there's no way to put it back together unless you can put it back where it's supposed to be.

Not everything is as fake as it seems. Your souls are here and you have all been drugged to keep certain aspects of yourselves contained but every part of you is here. You can use that against them if you can figure out how to unchain yourselves. I'm afraid you'll have Jason as your first opponent as he's the one with the keys you need. Be careful! There is information everywhere though much of it has been nearly permanently sealed. I can make it possible for you to access it, although you will all have to unlock it.

If that wasn't strange enough, you've probably seen it already. The same message is posted throughout the tower - on bathroom stalls, on walls, on tables. There are easily over a hundred pieces of paper.

And hey... Isn't that the same note "the Observer" put up on the network yesterday evening?*

"I will! Yotsuba will stomp on them hard like this!"

And with that, Yotsuba would jump forward down onto the ground as hard as she could.

"That's great!" Romeo grinned at her. "You got to practice though, and when your good at fighting people, not properly just for practicing! Then fight little monsters, then bigger ones and soon you will be able to fight all the monsters!"

"I'm not going to fight anyone! I don't want to be a bad person! But Yotsuba will practice a lot and fight a lot of monsters!"

When she had to. For now, she would still try and avoid them when she could since dying was painful and she didn't want to risk it. Everyone would be sad and she wouldn't be able to see Daddy again if she wasn't brought back!

"I didn't mean fight them for real. I meant practice with them! Because then you both get stronger and you help them as well as yourself!"

"Oh..okay! Yotsuba can practice with Diarmuid and Enoch and Lucifel and Cecil and you!"

When she actually got a dagger, that was.

"That's a great idea!" He grinned, "But you got to have a knife first!"

"Right! How can I make one? Enoch helped Yotsuba make the sling, but I don't know how to make a knife.."

[myblueskies]

"I can show you! A really nice man called Fawkes helped me make mine, it was a long time ago and he's gone now but I remember!"

[sunflowerfairy]

"Okay then! You can show me, and Yotsuba can defend herself better..and everyone will save Forks and Daddy and Jumbo and everyone else!"

"Come on then!" He gathered up the paper and pens and began to lead her towards the workshop.

Yotsuba gathered up the rest of the supplies as quickly as she could and ran, following Romeo.

Romeo led her to the workshop and found some goggles first. "We got to put these on to be safe!" He told her, though 'safe' was a bit of an over statement considering the machinery, the non guarded blades and the fact they were in a place that regularly tortured them.

While Yotsuba only knew a little bit about the torturing part, she did know how important it was for one to stay safe here. So, quickly, she put down the papers she was carrying in a safe place and looked around for another pair of goggles.

"Okay then! Is making a knife dang..dangerous?"

As she spoke, she found a pair of green goggles and put them on.

"It can be, but as long as you be careful it will be fine!" Romeo grinned and went to find some metal. "We got to get some tape too, like this," he showed her the tape that Fawkes had used for a handle on Romeo's knife. "Do you think you can find some?"

"Okay!" Yotsuba watched as Romeo started his search and showed her the tape around his knife.

"Roger! Yotsuba can!" With a quick salute with her right hand, Yotsuba quickly started looking for any tape that resembled the stuff Romeo had shown her. It took her a little while, but she eventually found a roll of tape amongst the piles.

"Is this it?" She asked, holding it up for Romeo to inspect.

Meanwhile Romeo dragged a chair over to the machine so he could reach and grinned when Yotsuba brought back the tape. "That's great! Now what we got to do is make the metal really sharp!"

Yotsuba didn't know much about machines, so she just smiled as Romeo spoke and looked at the machine.

"Okay! How can we do that? With your knife?"

[myblueskies]

"With this machine, it whirls around and makes things sharp!" He pressed the button and let her see the blade whirling. "Like that!"

Yotsuba looked pretty surprised when that happened, but smiled as she saw the machine whirl around and make the metal a bit sharper.

"That's awesome! What else can it sharpen?!"

[myblueskies]

"Anything! But you got to be careful because it could really hurt you!" He pressed the metal against the grinder and looked determined as sparks started flying.

Yotsuba, not wanting to be burned by the sparks, took a few steps back when they showed up.

"Okay! But be careful, okay?! Being burned hurts!"

[myblueskies]

"I will be!" He grinned and continued to grind the metal. "I'm very careful!"

[sunflowerfairy]

"Okay..how long will it take? Is it done?"

While Yotsuba was a good little girl at heart, she was still a little kid, and, therefore, could be impatient sometimes.

[myblueskies]

"Almost, it's got to be really sharp or it won't kill any monsters!" He grinned at her, "You can start cutting long strips of tape, 'cause we'll need them!"

At that, Yotsuba brightened up a little and smiled.

"Okay! Yotsuba can do that!"

Since she didn't have any scissors, Yotsuba started pulling out pieces of tape and ripping them with her fingers before sticking them to a nearby metal pile so that they could use them later. The tape was really sticky and hard to rip sometimes, so it was slow going, but she did her work, even though she glared at the tape as she did so.
