Event: Quarantine
Characters: any characters trapped in rooms during the event
Setting: dormitory level rooms
Format: any
Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings
[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.
After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

no subject
[He laughs, though it sounds bitter and hollow. His free hand goes to catch the hand she has at his lips.]
Knowing him, he probably can. His children are out there, and he's just so nice that you'll always catch him concerned about someone.
no subject
[She blinks in surprise, fingers curling around his hand when it catches her, and she cants her head.]
Like... actual kids or what?
[You'll pardon her confusion, she's still working under the whole 'servants can't procreate' assumption. But she does toss a slightly worried look in Diarmuid's direction for a moment, wondering what Cu Chulainn could mean if not his own flesh and blood.]
no subject
[He gives her hand a little squeeze.]
He adopted a few. They're not the ones he had back in his lifetime.
no subject
[She rolls her eyes a little, but nods.]
Yeah, seems like the sort of thing he'd do, honestly.
[She cracks a smirk though, taps her fingers against his hand.]
Please don't tell me there are some little brats running around that're going to think it's cute to call me 'mommy' or something.
no subject
Nah, I haven't adopted any. They all get scooped up by the more "responsible" father figures.
[Unless you count Gamzee. But that was more sarcasm on Gamzee's part.]
no subject
[She makes a quiet little noise and twitches her nose after he pokes it, sticking her tongue out at him.]
Well that's good at least. Not the kind of heart attack I'd need at my age.
no subject
[He sticks his tongue out at her in return.]
If I ever do adopt, I'd have you around to approve of the kid. How's that?
no subject
Wh-what the hell do you need my approval for? They're gonna be your headache, you know.
[Goddammit Lancer, you're going to make her head explode.]
no subject
[That's cheesy and he knows it. That's why he's got a huge shit-eating grin plastered on his face.]
no subject
[Hiding her face with her hands because that is so corny she can't even handle it. And again, slightly muffled from behind her hands-]
Oh my god.
[She spreads her fingers to peer out at him with one hand, then closes them again to shake her head.]
Remind me why I said yes to your dates again?
no subject
[He laughs and pats her on the head.]
Because I know how to show you a good time.
no subject
[A tendril of hair snakes around his wrist.]
But okay the head-patting thing needs to stop- I'm a girl you're dating, not a little girl you're humoring, thanks.
[A brief narrowing of her eyes.]
At least, I had better not be the latter.
no subject
no subject
[But only barely.]
But I dunno, what else even is there? New at this, remember?
no subject
Tummy rubs?
no subject
What am I, a lapdog? Next.
no subject
no subject
[She rolls onto her stomach instead, examining her nails boredly in the dim light.]
If you really want to do something, a backrub would be nice.
no subject
[And he really does start to give her one.]
Man, I don't know how long it's been since I've last given somebody one.
no subject
[Well then. She is just going to make herself comfy right where she is, crossing her arms under her head and nuzzling slightly against his thigh.]
Well, no time like the present, right? Oh, mmmm- little lower on the right, would you?
no subject
Nope, nothing like the present at all.
And do I get a reward for this?
no subject
[She turns her head to peer up at him from the corner of her eye.]
What's a suitable reward for this in a room full of people?
no subject
no subject
[She frowns, very very slightly and adds-]
If only because I don't really know much in the way of funny stories.
no subject
...How come?
