Characters: Anyone and everyone
Setting: Cafeteria, Noon, Nov 7th
Format: Anything
Summary: A party/discussion mingle after calling a meeting of the residents.
Warnings: tba
The anonymous post on the network was an invitation to gather, discuss and share information. Maybe they would get incredibly lucky and get to the bottom of things, such as who was behind the bombings or the strange things that went on during Quarantine.
Someone has been at work down here in the dining hall, moving the tables around to create a space in the middle in case people felt like dancing. Most of the chairs are around the outside and facing the middle, for everyone to see each other better. There was another space and some chairs for musicians, and a couple of the larger tables were set up with a large buffet of normal cafeteria food (because Zo wasn't likely to poison them) and resident prepared dishes, both clearly marked.
Of course, there was always the oatmeal.

...D'ya think they do that in the mail room? Woudn't be hard sendin' something to another person every day if they don't. Might be worth testin' out.
[But somehow he's sort of doubting it. The mail room seems like a really bad place to send anything that's confidential or important.]
Y'know, I've been mapping floors of the Tower. The glitches happen often enough I could probably test out new locations to hide things. Put real tokens in spots and check back every day.
no subject
Guess that's worth a try. I'd help out if you tell me a good spot.

It wouldn't hurt to test, would it? Use some things that could be easily replaced if lost? Some of our fellows work in the mail room and they wouldn't switch things out. It would be the units that work there we would have to worry about obviously.
[He leans forward, voice softening so it won't be overheard by unfriendly ears.]
Unfortunately, considering the fact that the Administrators themselves send us things through the mail, even if we find a way to avoid the units, they will be much harder to hide things from. However, what it might work well for is a distraction. Let them think we are sending important things there, while the actual important transfers happen elsewhere.
I have been using a series of tokens and marks to check and see if any of my stores of weapons have been disturbed since I last visited them, though I do prefer to check during glitches when possible and not just relying on the marks and such since they can always be replaced by one paying attention. I don't see why leaving tokens to test for new locations wouldn't work just as well.
[Diarmuid reaches out to give his brother's shoulder a squeeze.]
While talking about these things in generalities is okay here, talking about specific spots is probably best left for other times. Remind me. I can show you a few safe spots for storing things.

Sounds like I'd better go huntin' this month.
[Testing the mailboxes sounded like a good idea, too.]
Let's get together later and figure some of this stuff out, compare notes. I got some work to do on my maps still...
no subject
You're making maps? Then we definitely should get together and speak farther. Has anyone shown you the maps with the Tower Guide that is on the Network? Even if you wish to map everything yourself, I am sure they will be of some use. I know the person who made them and she is very trustworthy.
As for testing if something is real or not, the glamour glitches enough anymore that don't think you will have to wait long to test something in question.
[Diarmuid is far too aware of ever single flicker of the glamour since it temporarily cancels his link to Waver each time it happens.]
no subject
[He nods at the mention of the flickers. He had run into more than his share during the last month.]
Yeah, I'm willin' to get together, but there's still a bunch of work I need to do. Whole damn thing is boring as hell but, the job, y'know.

[Diarmuid doesn't question Reno's need to do the mapping himself to make sure it is accurate. He understands the feeling completely.]
When would be a good time to meet for you? My schedule is pretty flexible.
no subject
Might be easier sending a note when I'm done, a lot of 'em are still only on the first draft.
no subject
[Diarmuid nods in understanding.]
I regularly check my mail, so I will keep my eyes open. Also feel free to leave a message in my room if that would be more convenient for you.

I am sure you did hear me right. I will contact you soon then. In the meantime, take care of yourself.
