Characters: Anyone and everyone
Setting: Cafeteria, Noon, Nov 7th
Format: Anything
Summary: A party/discussion mingle after calling a meeting of the residents.
Warnings: tba
The anonymous post on the network was an invitation to gather, discuss and share information. Maybe they would get incredibly lucky and get to the bottom of things, such as who was behind the bombings or the strange things that went on during Quarantine.
Someone has been at work down here in the dining hall, moving the tables around to create a space in the middle in case people felt like dancing. Most of the chairs are around the outside and facing the middle, for everyone to see each other better. There was another space and some chairs for musicians, and a couple of the larger tables were set up with a large buffet of normal cafeteria food (because Zo wasn't likely to poison them) and resident prepared dishes, both clearly marked.
Of course, there was always the oatmeal.

[If he's lucky, perhaps he'll run into their mysterious host? Regardless, Rick has a job to do; he'll see if he can find anyone else hanging around that he recognizes, and if not, it's into the kitchen for him, where he will remain for most of the time save to deposit whatever dishes he can create in the designated location.]

After producing three heaping plates of mana strudel, she stopped for a moment and considered switching things up a little. The mana strudel were the best things she could conjure, really.... but why not aim for some variety? Maybe some mana cookies? Yes, yes, she was fairly sure that she remembered how to make those...]
Now was it three repetitions of the... well, it's using a simpler grounding, it channels less... ahh...
[Well, maybe not. She was standing there, hands lifted in a casting pose, with no casting currently happening.]

Discussion

[Finally. After the whole fiasco with her attempt to talk about things last month, Dani's been looking forward to something like this. There's a lot more going on in this place than she knows yet, and she's gotten a pretty strong impression that there are others who know more than they're letting on. That mysterious anon on her network post, for one.
So she'll be popping among the different groups she sees talking, trying to eavesdrop on what they're saying. She's sticking with human form for now. Her ghost powers lately have been even more tiring than usual. Which would be more worrying if there weren't so much going on.
If anybody happens to spot her though, she'll hitch on a totally innocent look her face.]
Don't mind me! Just a regular girl, wandering around.
[Totally inconspicuous right?]
[B]
[Once she's had her fill of listening in - or has found it to be unprofitable enough to not bother with further - Dani decides to take a more direct approach. The mysterious anon on the network said that people didn't talk about stuff like that on there. Maybe now would be different?]
Now will any of you guys talk to me about what was up with all the explosions and weird stuff at the end of September?
[Beat. Maybe that's too specific]
Or just stuff about this place in general. That works too.

How well known is it that weapons taken from monsters are real?
[It's part of what he had been working on before the loss of so many of those close to him had distracted him.]
Do we have people gathering them so they have real weapons to use when the glamour goes down, and do they know that the weapons must be kept hidden so that they aren't switched for film copies?
[He's talked to a few people about this, but how far that information has traveled while he was distracted is beyond him.]

Re: Discussion
]From what he'd heard through the grapevine, though, there were teams working to research whatever was in their collars, and by extension, whatever the hell the tower was. He wasn't sure just who was on the collar research teams, but there were enough people here that there had to be someone. So, he'll walk up to whomever looks like a likely subject, and try to start conversation.]
Any luck with the research?

It was hard when this had the potential to fix so many things and yet he had gotten nowhere. He was hoping to talk to the other groups and see if any of their results were similar. It just took a lot of building up confidence to do that.

Doc chose to remain silent for the time being but if asked, he would have quite a few things to say-- He could speak of the way he had managed to contact Ruana through the network and got the video about Jason Summers from her back in July, but most importantly he could keep people updated as to how the collar research was going.
Slowly, but details. ]

You guys all remember what happened during August? Some people started waking up in the admin levels, and a friend of mine got stuck doing processing.
[Riku's expresion darkens, and he rolls his hands into fists.]
Well, turns out there's a way to remove the collars-- these little styluses. Don't know how it'd work on living bodies, but someone might have snagged a couple.
[Or a couple of someones. Of course, he won't disclose their location for obvious reasons.]

Re: Discussion
As some of you know, a select few of us who were not trapped in the dormitories in September were given cameras by Riki to film and take photographs of Floors 100 and 101. To anybody else who was given a camera besides me, did you end up taking any...unusual pictures? Such as, let's say....completely dark photographs with nothing in them save words written in white?

Yet, he was more than happy to lurk here and listen to all the information circulating, without contributing any. Well, that was not exactly true. He was ready to disclose information about the power distribution in the tower-- Namely where all the power actually went if anyone asked him. He was also ready to speak of the past infiltration he had organized and participated in, as well of his attempt to murder Ruana (no matter how painful the failure is to remember).
For the time being, he walked around the room. The saying "walls have ears" had never been truer. And sometimes she stopped to look at some people in particular. Some he knew all too well, some he had never seen before. Still, it was obvious he had no intent to cause trouble. He had been fairly respectable ever since the massive infiltration, after all. ]

Then he'd checked his mailbox and slowly reconsidered. If there is one thing he might even be able to give a thread of trust to, it was the opinions of this particular friend. Who - from a quick glance around - he couldn't see around just yet.
It may be worth having one or both of us check this out.
Sephiroth sweeps past the buffet table as if admiring the various assortment of Tower-produced food, and other types of food as well gathered together for the comfort of those attending. Someone has put quite a bit of effort into this. He doesn't touch any of it though, instead keeping to the outskirts as usual - as close to a wall that he can get without distancing himself far enough as to not be able to eavesdrop quite spectacularly. Heightening his hearing too much wouldn't do much good in picking out any information he didn't already know, though.
A leathered sentinel with his arms folded up over his chest and eyes everywhere, but not perhaps looking so antagonizing - he's making something of an effort to appear a little bit more approachable at least; and he might even talk to anyone who might address him. To this effect, he unfolds his arms, to dismiss the terrible body language, only to re-fold them up at regular intervals.]

PARTY!
MUSIC.
But it's not really easy to tell right now that the music is actually his doing, he's just sitting cross-legged on an empty table and watching the goings-on with alert and obvious interest after having commandeered a bowl of some sort of greasy, salty snack food he couldn't get enough of. But the air around him plays music of no obvious source, loud enough to be heard, quiet enough to not be overwhelming.
Those from an Earth-like world might think it sounds suspiciously German pop-ish. It even has vocals, for all that Lorelei doesn't seem to be singing. He's keeping the music playing through simple control of his natural element, but it might be easy to assume he has a boombox or something stuffed away somewhere.

POST-PARTY
[At least the nervous blonde man can come out of the kitchen without having to worry about if some cooking dish or other is going to burn in his absence, and with the substantially decreased volume of people, he seems relatively anxiety-free. This was a success, he's decided. That much he's happy for.]
[Rick detours briefly to gather his cleaning supplies, and then diligently gets to work. Hopefully he doesn't have to move too many sleeping bodies (victims of Asagi's booze stash or general exhaustion) out of his way.]
