Summary: A party/discussion mingle after calling a meeting of the residents.

The anonymous post on the network was an invitation to gather, discuss and share information. Maybe they would get incredibly lucky and get to the bottom of things, such as who was behind the bombings or the strange things that went on during Quarantine.

Someone has been at work down here in the dining hall, moving the tables around to create a space in the middle in case people felt like dancing. Most of the chairs are around the outside and facing the middle, for everyone to see each other better. There was another space and some chairs for musicians, and a couple of the larger tables were set up with a large buffet of normal cafeteria food (because Zo wasn't likely to poison them) and resident prepared dishes, both clearly marked.

Of course, there was always the oatmeal.

It's a terrible trend, isn't it?

[She's untying her apron though, shaking her head as she tugs the ribbon keeping her hair in a ponytail out.]

But if they want to ruin my entire morning's work, they can clean up themselves. I'm no one's housemaid.

Neither am I, and I'm hardly about to start.

[The girl appearing to be made out of mercury not far behind him, on the other hand? She's the housemaid.]

Well, at least you have more backbone than some here.

[Chidori tilts her head and- sensing nothing other than residual energy from the 'girl' behind him, tilts her chin at it, expression just barely the mildest shade of curious.]

What is that?

Magic familiar. [Waver shrugged dismissively, lighting a cigarette.]

I have no intention to start any great cleaning effort, but that's hardly a reason to leave it entirely a disaster.

Interesting. How sentient?

[If at all. She wrinkles her nose at the cigarette though, and looks over her shoulder at the kitchen.

Then she shrugs.]

I cleaned what I had to. Not my problem anymore.

It's not. [There might have been a muttered 'usually' at the end of that remark, but who can tell? He did notice her expression and made a point to direct the smoke elsewhere the best that he could.]

It's not particularly my problem either, but I'd at least like some semblance of organization to this mess.

Hmm. You control it entirely then?

[Seems like it could be handy.]

Well, have at it then. I'm probably going to grab a snack and watch things deteriorate as the day goes on.

That's about right, yes. And I have to admit, I've been expecting one of these little occasions to end in horrible disaster for some time now. It'd be just my luck if things went poorly while I'm in range of potential crossfire.

[Sighing in irritation, Waver shrugged at the idea.]

But I suppose that's not important. Good luck with that.

You mean the drunken idiocy isn't travesty enough for you?

[A slightly amused twitch of the lips.]

Thank you. Do be careful with your familiar then. Especially if what she's made of is flammable.

I've seen worse, I'm sure. [The amount of 'like i give a fuck' is immeasurable.]

If anything I'll likely end up the one putting out fires. It's just liquid mercury, so there's not much to worry over.

Well, maybe. But how many times has 'worse' involved superpowers?

[Because she thinks that ups the awful factor by a fair bit.]

And as long as you don't get yourself injured. I'd rather no one try and blame me for not saving their friends.
