Summary: A party/discussion mingle after calling a meeting of the residents.

The anonymous post on the network was an invitation to gather, discuss and share information. Maybe they would get incredibly lucky and get to the bottom of things, such as who was behind the bombings or the strange things that went on during Quarantine.

Someone has been at work down here in the dining hall, moving the tables around to create a space in the middle in case people felt like dancing. Most of the chairs are around the outside and facing the middle, for everyone to see each other better. There was another space and some chairs for musicians, and a couple of the larger tables were set up with a large buffet of normal cafeteria food (because Zo wasn't likely to poison them) and resident prepared dishes, both clearly marked.

Of course, there was always the oatmeal.

[ As a team leader, it is totally his prerogative.

Upon being called out Doc turns, but unlike most people in the tower who probably scowls or runs away upon seeing Sephiroth, Doc just stays there and answers very calmly. ]

Sephiroth, lad! [He beams-- Doc must be the only person in the tower happy upon seeing Sephiroth.] It's slow I'll concede, but I think we're getting somewhere! I have good hope we may be done by the New Year celebration if all teams are having similar results!

[ Only an estimate, so this may be off ~~Which it is since it may be done a little bit earlier~~. ]

[Sephiroth's upper lip is allowed to twitch into something of an acknowledging smile. For all intents and purposes, appearing to be at least content to see Doc's presence here. It is relevant after all the work they have been doing.

He'll even allow the 'Lad' to pass.]

Not so slow considering the limited, circulating nature of the means we have had available to us, either.

[He nods.] I am confident that as soon as this latest hurdle is gotten over, it will be smoothly advancing from then on.

[ Doc wasn't even aware that the lad could be something offensive to Sephiroth-- No matter, he obviously didn't notice that Sephiroth's doings were all an act. ]

Indeed! I wish we could have gotten our hands on some computer...

[ He nodded as well. ]

I agree! It is imperative it goes smoothly from now on, otherwise we will never have the time to put the results into practice! Even if it is done by new year, you all will have only six months left to act!

I think we spoken about this before, but yes some way to simulate would surely have made this easier.

[The nod is returned in kind.]

The pressure is most definitely on. [Coming from someone who hasn't done very much at all recently other than study and experiment.]

It's a shame, I had a friend who was an android-- If she was still here, maybe her internal system would have helped us speed up the process.

[ It was all glamour but her calculation had still been faster than those of any computers he'd known. ]

But tell me, how's your group doing? I've left much of the communication to my assistants so I'm not aware of individual progresses!

That malfunctioning robot had cost him a death very early on in his stay in the Tower and Sephiroth spends a moment to keep his thoughts in the present. Here, this general meeting could be the most important and he needs not to get bogged down with pointless memories.

Sephiroth blinks twice, ensuring he heard and registered Doc's words before thinking to formulate an answer. Indeed, Sephiroth keeps multiple copies of everything he has found - he might need it in a rush one day. Most of his notes do make it into the circulation of the assistants, however.]

We make steady progress, or so I like to think. [He offers a frustrated sigh, so convincing.] There are moments, as I'm sure you have thought as well, where you have to go three steps backwards to make half a real one forwards.

[ Doc nodded, well that was good if his team did as well as his. Clearly, Doc needed to spend more time asking his assistants how the other teams progressed. ]

I am not certain what you mean? [Sorry Seph, but that's probably only you.] It's true however that sometimes it looks as though the progresses are very slow, but I'm confident we'll all be done in time! It's only a matter of making sure the administrators do not catch wind of our work now.

[Its irritating how exposed his inexperience feels right now. But still he holds his facade delicately, but firmly.]

Perhaps it's only my over-complication of things.

[He offhandedly shrugs. It's a possibility. He should try to relax more and let the results dictate the direction more, perhaps.]

Indeed. I go to great efforts to ensure the secrecy is enduring. [He huffs a little.] Though some days losing a supervisory unit can prove more of an annoyance that it's really worth.

[It concerns him, that Jason would clock on to his change in attitude towards the supervision.]

[ It probably concerned them all-- Thankfully, Doc had an healthy dose of faith in humanity that kept him from thinking too much about this. ]

That's what the movers and bodyguards are there for! You shouldn't have to worry about this. If this is too much trouble for your movers to handle, I may arrange for more movers to be assigned to your team!

[ Not that those on his team did much better, but heh. ]

[Fittingly, having no such faith in humanity (or the general populace of the Tower) leads itself to having a great deal more to be concerned with and that's not taking into account that Sephiroth is an over-thinker in many respects.]

It's no great bother, I need the movers for making sure equipment stays out of sight and bodyguards have their duties watching out for monsters. At least if I lose the supervision myself, I know where it might re-emerge from later.
