To Drown Out

Characters: Enoch never intended it but, everyone who's up for drinking!
Setting: Cafeteria, throughout the day (sorry team indigo)
Format: Party, do what you want!
Summary: With Riki being generous with the food again, Enoch decides to see, first, if he can still get drunk at all, and second, if being drunk will help keep his new headmate quiet. A (not-so-) surprising amount of people are likely to be interested in drinking with him.
Warnings: Drunken shenanigans. Possible angst because he might actually talk about Eleven under the influence. Might also talk about gory details of the meeting with Ruana. Did I say drunken shenanigans? I think I need to say that again.

*Much like just before the glamour failure, Enoch sits with several bottles of red wine from the kitchen stock. Unlike then, he has no extra glasses out to share with. He is not drinking to a plunge into the unknown. He is drinking to drown things. Mostly, the voice screaming in his head.

But nothing really changes the fact that any modern wine is of much higher quality than anything his time could produce, and he's savoring its flavor too, in long sips. It's almost a distraction, itself.

Speaking of distractions, he certainly won't object to any company, and if it turns into a larger gathering he may get so caught up in it he'll forget how much he's had.

And so might you. Care to grab a drink for yourself? He won't mind if you ask for some of the wine he has.*

((ooc: Of course you can approach Enoch like any other log, but due to interest expressed this is actually more of a mingle! Start games and contests if you'd like or just hang out and have your characters get drunk or bodyguard or spectate. Please identify new games and contests in the header to make it clearer to people scrolling through! Naturally there can be several threads of the same game, considering this isn't organized at all.

[ Sure enough, the android has pretty much gone limp in chaos' embrace. It's strange, but she feels like she could cast all her worries away right now and it'd be fine. She'd be okay and it's thanks to chaos, as well as her friends. ]

You do, chaos. You... mean a lot to me. And, well, to answer your question...

[ She grips his shirt in her hands slightly, tensing up a little. ]

I view you very highly, chaos. You have helped me a great deal and I would do anything to protect you. You... well, I--

[ She cuts herself off, shaking her head, unsure of how to proceed. ]

[Not that chaos minded. It was good that she could feel this relaxed in a hug, and he was glad that he and others were able to help her in that regard. It felt like holding a kitten, in some way. However, he felt that tensing up as she spoke, and he could easily put together what she was trying to say.]

I am glad to hear that, Sertoria. And I could be wrong..but are you trying to say that you love me, and not as a family member or a friend?

[chaos just patted her back again as she shook her head, his bittersweet smile become a bit less bitter.]

[ It was strange to Sertoria. Normally, she wouldn't allow herself to get this extremely close to someone. After all, it'd only hurt when she'd have to say goodbye to them. And yet... she believes she can see her friends after this.

However, at chaos' question, she'll let out a loud squeak and spring up, looking completely embarrassed by his question. ]

...I-I... chaos!

[ She's not denying it, though. ]

[While chaos had no problems with others opening up to him, he usually didn't open up much about himself, as it was too painful. Sure, he had no problems with getting involved with someone romantically..but having the people he cared about die in front or around him hurt, even if he could sense their souls in a different shell again. However, with Animus's deadline, none of that probably mattered here.

Mary was the person that would always be closest to him..but that did not mean that Sertoria wasn't close either, and at that reaction, he let loose a genuine smile and tried to pat Sertoria on the shoulder. He'd also chuckle a little. That reaction was rather endearing, even if Sertoria was perplexed by all of this.]

Yes? Am I right?

[ Sertoria's very careful about opening up to people, since she knows trust can be abused. She never had anyone to really call her own, and yet... she always felt confused about romance and everything else relating to it. Then again, she never really had a chance to develop the emotions so she could better understand them.

Joshua would always be her number one, no doubt about it. However, she was not opposed to try something with chaos. At his laughter, she pouted and pulled a displeased face at him. ]

Do not laugh at me, chaos. That is very rude.

[ She turns her head away as if to show her displeasure before a grin crosses her face again. ]

...You are right, though.

[It can be..but, thankfully, chaos wouldn't abuse it. Since she was developing these feelings, he-and her friends-would be more than happy to help her understand them and develop them even more, if she wished.

For the moment though, chaos stopped laughing and suppressed any more urges he had to chuckle. However, at that grin and confirmation, chaos's smile actually grew a little.]

I am sorry. Your reaction was so endearing that I could not help myself. However..I am happy to hear that. If you wish, I shall be more than happy to accept your feelings..and return them.

[ In which, Sertoria appreciated the fact that chaos wouldn't freely abuse something like this. She felt like she could open up more and more to people and that she could prove once and for all to her creators that she was human.

It's hard to be mad at chaos like this, especially when she wants to protect his smile. Damn it, why did he make it so hard? She decides to chuckle before turning her attention fully back to him.

...Only after muttering the word "jerk" to him. ]

You...would? Oh, chaos, I am delighted to hear that!

[ She happily embraces him after that, thinking that's what one was supposed to do. But, now what was she supposed to do from here on out? Any information she had on love was surprisingly absent from her database. ]

[Not that chaos would think she had more to prove to them, at this point..but if he could help her in that area as well, he would be happy. Sadly, chaos made it hard because he kept most of his heart under lock and key. Even now, he didn't like revealing things about himself..but, perhaps, it would pay to be honest here, since she had been honest with him.

Not now though. Right now was a time of joy, and chaos didn't want to wreck it yet unless he had to, so he just happily embraced Sertoria back and patted her on the back.]

And I am happy to hear that you love this old jerk!

[He really was, even though he was teasing again.]

[ Either way, it was strengthening her resolve. She would try to change her creators' way of thinking, no matter what. Sertoria was very curious about his past, but hasn't asked because she respects him. After all, who did she have to tell?

But, that was for another time. Now, it was to focus on the joy she felt surging in her chest. ]

Oh, so you admit it now! Whatever am I going to do with you, my old jerk?

[ It's okay. Being around him has influenced her ability to joke around a lot more than she did.

Look what you did, chaos. ]

[In chaos's mind, she had everyone and anyone to tell, if she wished. His old fears of the past hadn't been wiped away here, just like Sertoria's resolve hadn't been broken.

But yes, that was for another time. Now, it was time to laugh, be merry, and think that one should not have said something earlier.]

Ah, but I did not tell you how old I was, now did I? However, as for things to do, you could stay by this jerks side for as long as you like.

[chaos is quite proud of what he has accomplished here. It's always nice to have people that one can joke with. However, it was also nice to have people one could be sweet with.]

[ She wouldn't dare to. Once someone entrusts her with a secret, it would be a trying battle to even pry it out of her, no matter the physical, mental, emotional or spiritual costs to her. ]

I could tell you were older than a human adult, chaos. One does not simply have the sort of wisdom you do at that age, after all. Though, I think I will. That is, if you would like to have this old bucket of bolts near you.

[ She grins after that, unable to help her chuckle. She feels reinvigorated after getting things out in the open. Maybe love wasn't so confusing after all... ]

[Which was something that was good for her friends..but chaos would be worried about her well being if she was ever in a situation where she had to put herself through those things.]

Some do and some do not. It depends upon the person. And I would be more than happy to have an old bucket of bolts as a companion. If the bucket breaks, I shall happily repair it.

[chaos chuckled a little bit at that too. Love could be a confusing and odd emotion, but..once one had it figured out and brought it into the open, things usually became easier.]

[ Sertoria didn't mind what happened to her as long as she protected her friends. She could be repaired time and time again and it didn't matter as long as she protected the ones she loved. ]

No matter what, I will not get a straight answer out of you, will I? Even if I try my hardest, it will be impossible.

[ She grins, chuckling while shaking her head. ]

It is settled, then. And, I did not know you were skilled with repairing androids, chaos. Now there are three people that can fix me should something go wrong.

[ Love was definitely complicated to the android, but it was something she was willing to learn. ]
