To Drown Out

Characters: Enoch never intended it but, everyone who's up for drinking!
Setting: Cafeteria, throughout the day (sorry team indigo)
Format: Party, do what you want!
Summary: With Riki being generous with the food again, Enoch decides to see, first, if he can still get drunk at all, and second, if being drunk will help keep his new headmate quiet. A (not-so-) surprising amount of people are likely to be interested in drinking with him.
Warnings: Drunken shenanigans. Possible angst because he might actually talk about Eleven under the influence. Might also talk about gory details of the meeting with Ruana. Did I say drunken shenanigans? I think I need to say that again.

*Much like just before the glamour failure, Enoch sits with several bottles of red wine from the kitchen stock. Unlike then, he has no extra glasses out to share with. He is not drinking to a plunge into the unknown. He is drinking to drown things. Mostly, the voice screaming in his head.

But nothing really changes the fact that any modern wine is of much higher quality than anything his time could produce, and he's savoring its flavor too, in long sips. It's almost a distraction, itself.

Speaking of distractions, he certainly won't object to any company, and if it turns into a larger gathering he may get so caught up in it he'll forget how much he's had.

And so might you. Care to grab a drink for yourself? He won't mind if you ask for some of the wine he has.*

((ooc: Of course you can approach Enoch like any other log, but due to interest expressed this is actually more of a mingle! Start games and contests if you'd like or just hang out and have your characters get drunk or bodyguard or spectate. Please identify new games and contests in the header to make it clearer to people scrolling through! Naturally there can be several threads of the same game, considering this isn't organized at all.

Okay then! I'm sure we'll find something yummy!

[At that, she gulped down the rest of her yummy milk and nodded.]

Okay. So that he doesn't do anything silly because of the beer! But can we all three eat dinner together tomorrow on?

[Lucifel blinks a few times at her question.]

Exactly. I'm sure I can arrange that.

[It's not like Enoch would say no.]

[It was probably an odd question, but since Lucifel and Enoch were good friends and Lucifel was Enoch's support, Yotsuba thought that it would be nice if Enoch could join them too!

Especially since she knew Lucifel hadn't been feeling well. At the confirmation though, Yotsuba smiled brightly and threw her hands into the air.]

Yay!~ It'll be suuuper fun eating with you two! Yotsuba ate dinner with Daddy before, but..it feels a bit sad to eat yummy dinners alone.

[Not really, actually he had been about to suggest it to her as well. So that's why he was surprised.

Enoch could need this too. Neither of them had been feeling well. And it seems Yotsuba could need this as well.]

I'm sure that it will be fun. All of us eating together.

[It seemed that great minds really did think alike then, sometimes. It would be good for all involved if they ate dinner together then.]

It will be! It'll be super fun!~ We can talk a whole lot and eat yummy meals together!

Yotsuba can tell us more stories.

[Thankfully, Yotsuba didn't think about it that much unless it was affecting her at the moment, since she was convinced that the grown-ups would fix everything, since Enoch had promised her that he would.]

I can! I can tell Enoch the stories he didn't hear! I'm sure he'd like The Little Mermaid and The Ugly Ducky and Momotaro! He can tell us stories too! I'm sure he knows a whoole lot!

[Well, about these stories...]

I'm sure Enoch would rather hear more about Yotsuba's story. What things she used to do at home and such.

I can tell him about the things Daddy and I used to do and Grandma and Ena and Jumbo and everything else! But Yotsuba wants to hear about what Enoch's life was like! It must have been super cool, since God chose him to go to Heaven!

[... Okay, this is actually worse than an indirect reference to Armaros.]

... I think I was wrong, Enoch might like Yotsuba's favorite stories as much as she would.

[Rather the references than the pain that came with the scribe's long life.]

Oh..okay then! I can tell him all of those stories then! And he can tell us about his life and all the stories he knows! I'm sure he has a lot of nice gems!~

[Sadly, Yotsuba didn't know about any of that. She just thought that Enoch was happy in Heaven and happy during his quest that Lucifel helped him with.]

[And telling her why Enoch wouldn't be happy to tell her about his life would result in her being upset as well... probably. She had managed to prove him wrong often enough.]

We will see.

[Maybe he will be able to distract her whenever the topic would flare up.]

[It probably would make her a little sad, since, unlike The Little Mermaid and The Ugly Duckling, there was no way of really knowing whether or not Enoch's story would have a happy end. Yotsuba trusted Enoch, and she was sure that things would work out for the best, but that belief might change in the coming days.

For now though, she just smiled happily.]

Okay then! But can we have our Splits for now? I'm hungry!

[Distracting her wouldn't be hard, but it wouldn't work forever.]

[For as long as he could he would distract her. She shouldn't be bothered by this.

Question is if there would be a Happy End for all of them, not just Enoch.]

[Just because she shouldn't be didn't mean she wouldn't be bothered or curious. As for happy endings..she thought there would be, but only time would tell. For right now though, Yotsuba just smiled at Lucifel's confirmation before rifling through any refrigerators or cabinets she could find to get the yummy food they wanted.]
