Summary: A party/discussion mingle after calling a meeting of the residents.

The anonymous post on the network was an invitation to gather, discuss and share information. Maybe they would get incredibly lucky and get to the bottom of things, such as who was behind the bombings or the strange things that went on during Quarantine.

Someone has been at work down here in the dining hall, moving the tables around to create a space in the middle in case people felt like dancing. Most of the chairs are around the outside and facing the middle, for everyone to see each other better. There was another space and some chairs for musicians, and a couple of the larger tables were set up with a large buffet of normal cafeteria food (because Zo wasn't likely to poison them) and resident prepared dishes, both clearly marked.

Of course, there was always the oatmeal.

There doesn't absolutely have to be a pattern, is there? I mean, you're just having fun.

[She shakes her head.]

I guess I'm just used to dances like that.

[A soft chuckle and a smile.]

Not that I did a lot of that back home, but it does look like fun.

It might not fit the music, but I know a dance or two. Would you like to try that?

[She looks from him back to the others, deciding. Finally, she nods and turns back to him.]

All right! I'd like to try.

[Just watch your toes.]

[He steps over to an unoccupied section of the dance floor and launches into a fast-paced Irish jig.]

How's this look?

[Sheena has never seen a dance like that and it shows as she tilts her head this way and that, her feet mimicking the steps to a lesser degree.]

It looks like fun, but... [She trails off.] What's the other dance you know?

[She just wants to see to make a choice. Or maybe combine them.]

I'll definitely need a partner for that though, so why don't you step up and face me?

[There's a brief pause as she considers it. If it's like the other one, it won't only be his toes in danger, but the shins as well...

But, she winds up nodding and getting into position, her expression curious.]

All right. Now what?

[He starts to go through the steps of this dance.]

Come on, like this.

All right.

[Sheena follows the best she can, wincing slightly whenever she misses the mark in the hand-holding and twirling--but soon gets into it and gives him a huge smile.]

This is kind of fun!

Isn't it? Everybody loved dancing like this back in my place?

[He makes no comment on her gaffes. In fact, he follows her moves and keeps the dance going, pulling her back whenever she misses a hand-hold or a twirl.]

Yeah, it is! I wish we had something like this on my world.

[After a few moments.]

What's it called?

I think it's called a reel. Not sure on the type.

A "real"? A real what?

[She has no clue there's a different spelling/meaning of the word.]

[He scratches his head. It seems like there's a bit of language confusion here.]

No, I mean the dance's name. A reel is a a sort of dance. Though you can probably say it's a real dance.

Uh...yeah, exactly. Like trees and flowers.

She slows her dancing.]

Did I say something wrong?

[He quickly shakes his head.]

Nah, you just have a unique way of describing things.

Oh.

[And have a blush.]

That's not a bad thing, is it?

Nah, I like unique girls.

Oh.

[Her blush deepens. She has trouble with compliments.]

Th-Thanks.

[She dances for a moment in silence. Then back to the other topic.]

So, uh, you said you didn't know what type of reel this is; how many types are there?

I dunno. One for every kingdom in Ireland?

[Congratulations, Lancer, you've managed to take Sheena's mind of the dance with the mention of one word.]

Ireland? What's that? Is that the name of your planet?

Nah, just the name of the island I'm from.
