Summary: A party/discussion mingle after calling a meeting of the residents.

The anonymous post on the network was an invitation to gather, discuss and share information. Maybe they would get incredibly lucky and get to the bottom of things, such as who was behind the bombings or the strange things that went on during Quarantine.

Someone has been at work down here in the dining hall, moving the tables around to create a space in the middle in case people felt like dancing. Most of the chairs are around the outside and facing the middle, for everyone to see each other better. There was another space and some chairs for musicians, and a couple of the larger tables were set up with a large buffet of normal cafeteria food (because Zo wasn't likely to poison them) and resident prepared dishes, both clearly marked.

Of course, there was always the oatmeal.

[He falls silent for a moment, trying to imagine it.]

I guess not. Not unless he explains it in "scientific" terms. Something like how he should research why it's so hot?

I can't really even imagine him using the word hot unless he's talking about temperature.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

I'm trying but I really can't.

...Well, you'd know him better, so probably a no on that catcall thing then.

Yes, it's a no.

[It's probably for the best. If Waver did catcall at him, Diarmuid's not sure how he would react.]

Asagi will be on her own for this one.

...I'll make her stop if it ever bothers you. Even if it's just going to be her alone.

[Diarmuid sighs, shutting his eyes for a moment.]

Even though she knows my legend, I don't think she realizes how much what she says to me hurts sometimes. For example, she was trying to distract me after everyone was sent home and I made my Network post, but she did it by inciting my anger though remarks about my looks. It worked...too well. I keep telling myself she was only trying to help, but it still angers me, even now. Not only was she using how I feel about my looks against me, she was also messing with the very thing I am trying so hard to control right now--my anger.

[He listens and nods.]

Sounds like she ain't good with comforting, then. Tell her. Maybe she'll learn what not to say.

[Diarmuid smiles slightly and then shakes his head.]

I don't know that she would listen and it's okay, really. From the moment I meant her, I knew she was someone who would get along better with you than me. I expected there would be times when we wouldn't see eye-to-eye or were angry with each other. I just...don't understand why this anger won't fade.

I think it's because you've been hurt too much by the same words before. That's why you're so angry hearing them again.

[He gives his brother a hug.]

It's alright. I'll tell her she has to be courteous to you if she wants to be friends with me.

[Diarmuid returns the hug, but shakes his head at the same time.]

I don't want you to make her upset with you because of me. Just give me a little more time. If my anger doesn't pass, I will go speak to her myself. Even if she doesn't listen, it will help to get the feelings out.

If that's what you want. Try not to fight with her, though. One or both of you might get hurt. And I don't wanna see that.

I would rather avoid fighting with her just because she is close to you and makes you happy.

[Diarmuid smiles at his brother.]

I like seeing you happy for some reason.

It's because we're brothers and you love me. Same thing goes for you too.

[He tugs on Diarmuid's hand.]

That's why you should come and dance. So you can have fun and be happy.

[Diarmuid laughs lightly, letting his brother pull him along.]

Wasn't my stepping on your toes so badly when I was showing you how to ballroom dance enough proof of why I shouldn't dance?

[Lancer laughs.]

That was ballroom! This is something else entirely!

What makes you think that I am any better at normal dancing than I am at ballroom dancing?

Well, you needed something to impress all the knights and ladies with back when you were alive, didn't you? Or did the Fianna just not dance?

[Diarmuid shuts his eyes for a moment, thinking of the past.]

Often and often drunkenly. Who do you think kept them from falling into the fire? It didn't leave me much time to dance myself.

[Diarmuid frowns slightly and motions to where his mole would be were it not for the scar there.]

I never had to try and impress the women around.

...Oh. Right.

[His expression falls for a second.]

Well, nobody falling in the fire now, so you can catch up on those dance lessons.

[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at his brother.]

Are you offering to teach me to dance now?

Yeah, I guess. Least I can do after you taught me so many things.

You don't have to, you know. I was joking...

[Diarmuid laughs.]

However, a little distraction from all of this would certainly be welcome. I think I've thought through all I can right now. I'm going to start over-thinking things soon.

...Hey, you caught yourself before you could overthink anything. That's great!

[Diarmuid smiles sheepishly.]

Yes, I suppose I did, didn't I? However, that might change if we keep talking of it. Lets focus on having fun now, shall we?

Yeah, come on!

[He pulls Diarmuid onto the dance floor and starts to do a little jig.]
