Setting: Any floor, any day from the 18 to the 26 (except the 21)
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer

Summary: Recruitment for the Council of the Sages (Fellowship of Animus). The four recruiters will walk throughout the tower in order to find and speak with the people they think could help. Anyone is welcome. There's no real setting, those four are just gonna go and bother people during their daily Animus life. So feel free to pick a day and location of your choice, otherwise it’ll be randomized. OOC Post is here if you want more information. Happens after this reunion.

Warnings: None. The recruiters will do this together, but feel free to put in the subject line if you’d rather want someone in particular to do it. The others recruiters may threadjack at any moment.


If you are a good person, don't reek with evil, and would love to help, odds are that at least one of those four, Gandalf, Zelda, Fi and Xion, is gonna bother you speak with you about changing the fate of the people in the tower. If you're evil... Some derps may approach you anyway.

Gandalf's idea ever since he first set foot in the tower was to see its people work together- About everyone in the tower has something in common: the desire to change life in the tower ultimately to see their homeworld restored. To that purpose Gandalf convinced Zelda to lead a movement. She was perfect for the role: princess, chosen by wisdom, descendant of a goddess.

Now remains to actually get the people into that movement. The network is too dangerous for that, you don't know who else is watching. So here, they're roaming the tower to find those who wish to stand free and fight the evil. Zelda, Gandalf, but also Fi and Xion, the only two other people in the tower who are aware of this plan and its purpose. And here it goes.

Reno can be found curled in a chair in the library, pretending to read some book or another while he sorts through things that have gone on since his arrival. Deciding a course of action where the future of what was left of ShinRa and the Turks was important, and keeping Sparky from doing something stupid were important.

He was decidedly not thinking about a number of conversations he'd had though. He also hasn't turned the page for a good fifteen minutes.

The library was Gandalf starting point, the place where he called the others for they start going around and recruit people into the fellowship of good people. So it was no surprise that Reno was the first one they spotted- He knew he was on their side and willing to help, and he had the priceless experience of having fought what were killing their worlds before, hence he walked up to him.

"Reno?"

He appeared to be lost in his book, but-

"We have something important to speak about, to ask you."

Lina can be found at the restaurant - she's bit back her pride enough to come here for dinner, and done their stupid scavenger hunt, but yet she just stares at the plates before her. It looks like way too much for a girl her size to take on, but those who know her would call it a fairly small serving for the sorceress.

However, a crisis of conscience wracks her, whether she should really be playing their game just to get by...but if she doesn't, she could find herself helpless again before the month is up.

After nearly a month of eating nothing but strange food bars (if they can really be called 'food') and whatever she could scavenge from the forest and farmland floors, the restaurant is quite tempting. But still, Zelda has seen the consequences of failing its 'quest' first hand, and that wariness has kept her from attempting it despite the lack of food elsewhere.

... Others may be braver, however, and the resourcefulness needed in such hunts would be a valuable trait in an ally. When she stumbles across Lina (that magical potential she senses would also be helpful), she takes a moment to observe, then quietly steels herself before approaching.

"Pardon my intruding, but... you seem troubled. Is everything all right?"

Very cordial and polite, as always. It's best to know something about a person before you ask them to rally under your banner, right?

[Taro is in the library - the one on the nineteenth floor. He's got a bunch of random books around him - some on magic, some on science, and one or two on animals and animal biology. He looks up when he hears someone come in.]

[It was the door alone that betrayed Fi's presence with sound. And the young man with several books collected drew her attention. The spirit was obviously a bit curious, she rarely met such studious people thus far aside from Gandalf, Hojo and Emmett Brown.

So she flew a little closer and floated just above a seat near him, appearing to sit.]

[He might reek of...something that's definitely not right at all, if not exactly evil. It's not something bright and good, either. However, closer inspection may show it's not actually him, per se--and besides, he's 13.

David is in the media room on one of the couches, wrapped up in a book from the library. A Pynchon novel, a first edition--with a publication date of 2019. He had been curious, to put it mildly. Various other books sit near him, waiting. Literary criticism, mythology, music theory, more fiction, the rare occasional book on magic that he could actually read, et cetera. When he glimpses someone stepping into the room in his peripheral vision, he looks over.]

[... My, that's an odd aura around that boy. Still, Whatever that energy is coming from, it certainly doesn't feel anything like Ganondorf does, so she may as well give this a shot.]

[She smiles politely and bows her head in greeting, and in doing so, catches a glimpse of one of the magic books surrounding the boy.]

Reno, also known as Sparky in order to keep the two less confusing, was up in the workshop today, doing something to what looked to be a harness. The jobs in the Tower were dangerous and often fatal, as he had found out some time before, and after talking with his co-worker decided to fix the harnesses to be more safe.

It wasn't going very well. Ask him to modify a weapon, especially an EMR, and he could probably whip something out that not only worked better, but came with about five extra bells and whistles. Harnesses were a bit more tricky, especially when it seemed like the damn thing was actively trying to not get fixed.

The workshop is one of the more populated floors (and it's not hard to see why, considering the dangers here are relatively minor in comparison), so it's not much of a surprise that their little rag tag band has made a stop here. Seeing a somewhat familiar shock of red hair, Zelda clears her throat a bit to alert him of her presence before speaking.

"... Reno, is it?"

[Zack could be found seated at one of the tables in the study hall, a pad of paper and several pens and pencils scattered around his hands, gloves laying discarded on the table as he wrote and sketched on that paper.

At least, before he got frustrated with something and dropped his pencil, running his hands through his hair and slumping in his chair. Someone wasn't paying any attention to his surroundings, that was for sure.]

[ Gandalf wasn't particularly fond of the study hall on the eighteenth floor. This place made it harder to focus on his opinion, and if the young man he spotted in the room was any indication, he wasn't the only one having problems with it.

he slowly walked up to Zack, using his staff as a walking stick. Any similarity with the sages from Cosmos Canyon is purely coincidental. ]

[Hojo is still in the beginning stages of his research, still taking samples from the various floors for analysis.

There are moments when he's angry, filled with self-loathing, resentful of his presence here, but there are other moments, like now, when he seems like nothing so much as a busy, determined man of science, intent on his research.

He's currently sampling the aquarium water. He stops to watch the fish. He'll have to capture some for subjects at a later date. A few tanks for experiments shouldn't be hard to set up...]

[Fi enters the floor the way she usually does: floating, and spots Hojo taking samples of the water. Well, she knew he was studying things in the tower that he was capable of so she wasn't surprised. If she even could be.

So she floats over to him and watches a couple fish swim on by.]

[If any of them go looking hard enough, they might find Riku sitting on one of the couches, clutching Kairi's lucky charm very tightly. Occasionally he'll toss it up and down and let out a sigh.

He's definitely not reeking with evil. Just an odd mixture of boredom and stress.]

You get a wizard... THAT IS until Xion finds them

[ Gandalf enters the lounge in his quest, and spots Riku. This boy looks strikingly similar to the Riku Gandalf once met- But he's clever enough not to mistake them, would it be just physically the differences are obvious enough.

He sees the charm as he passes next to Riku and smiles lightly. ]

A memory from home?

Momotaros can be found wandering most anywhere - he's too antsy to stay still very long, and muttering uncouth things about the tower. Or he may be found in the media room, sitting in a beanbag and trying to work out how to unlink a metal puzzle.

His aura's definitely not evil, despite appearances. Maybe a liiiittle grey, but definitely a good guy.

Fi is because Gandalf is a paranoid old man!!

Fi will float into the media room and watch Momotaros work at the puzzle. A quick scan and she could have solved it but she'd learned that people enjoyed challenges. So she said nothing as she floated closer to watch him work at it.

Sayaka's recent meanderings about the tower could best be described to have a frustrated aimlessness. Today, though, she's given up on trying at spontaneously achieving an emotional enlightenment, and is quietly zoning out to a pair of headphones and one of her CDs somewhere in the media room.

Wandering into the media room, Gandalf spots her, once more. Both time he'd meet her before, he wasn't sure their interactions had a really... positive effect on the young girl. She has a certain potential, there is no doubt about that, he can feel it. But she looks young. Maybe too young to take part in such a quest.

He's not approaching her just yet. No, it might not be a good idea to ask her into their movement. Well, he certainly looks like he's pondering the question, so a certain sword spirit might assume he believes she would fit right in.

And lo, there was in the music room, a man with the bluest hair, busing himself on the drums. Eikichi's talk with Yu had struck a cord with him and despite continuing to sing...he couldn't tear himself from the instrument any longer.

It felt nice.

Gandalf passed by the music floor eventually. He stopped when he heard the music- Wasn't bad. Well, not exactly his favorite kind of music but. He was looking for people, and someone was probably playing this so he walked toward that person. You never know.

Tara is standing in front of one particular horrible painting in a line of many horrible paintings, and she hasn't moved for over five minutes.

The painting depicts a scene in a cemetery. Human shaped creatures with monstrous faces are having a party of the sort that would have made Dionysus himself swear off wine for the rest of his immortal days. Several still, pale, bloody human shapes scattered limply around the scene like rags seem to be the entertainment.

Tara is staring up at the painting with a grim look on her face, both hands clenched so tightly into fists at her side that they're visibly shaking. She seems morbidly entranced, and nearly physically unable to look away.

As seemingly peaceful this floor is, it's one Zelda has learned not to linger on. Still, finding others for their cause is more important than her own psychological comfort right now, and so she wanders while pointedly not looking at the paintings adorning the walls.

It's not the first time she's seen someone so enraptured by the twisted art in this place, and it's with a practiced sort of calmness that she speaks up, hoping to break the other woman out of her trance.

"Come, this is not a place one should linger."

[Miyabi can be found poking around near the edges of the forest carefully looking for anything edible that she can find to share with others. Otherwise, she's down on the farmland level, working on a small patch of dirt. She's not entirely sure what the seeds she planted are supposed to be, but she's hoping it's something else that'll be edible.

Otherwise, she'll be in the music room, poking idly at the instruments and trying to figure out how to actually play one of them.]

[The music floor is one of Zelda's favorites, actually, to the point where the strange tendency for the instruments to play themselves hardly bothers her. It is here that she decides to take a short break to pluck at a few harp strings. At least, until she notices one of her roommates wandering.]

[Riku is currently sitting in his new hiding studying spot in the very back of floor twenty five. Right now he is leaning over his notes, frowning down at them before scribbling another line or two. While he is pretty deep in thought, he is paying attention to what's going on around him someone has been caught off-guard one time too much it seems.]

[Yep, just like she thought, he's back here again and studying. But this time she has important business to discuss with him, so she knocks on the wall near the exit of the maze to alert him of her presence (you know, just in case) before speaking up.]

Riku? May I ask for a moment of your time?

[After talking to Kuja, he's rather downhearted--for Zidane, at least. He's happy Kuja's all right, but there are still problems to deal with, and an even bigger problem is the Tower itself. People being tortured, experimented on...

He knows he has to do something about it, but he isn't sure what.

He's standing at the windows on the fourth floor, looking out, touching his fingers to the glass. Now that he finally knows where home is, he wonders if he'll ever get to go there.]

Pretty girl to start with, Gandalf may be showing up later!

[Zelda has spent her fair share of time staring out into the mist, despite knowing there is nothing to be found there. It's terribly easy to get lost in one's thoughts that way, and it seems she's not alone in that respect.

She steps up to the window, close enough to be in conversational distance, but not intrusive by any means, and though she does not touch it, she looks out all the same.]

I wonder if it will ever clear at some point.

[Willow is sitting in the sewing workshop, rather idly poking a needle through a small scrap of fabric. She's making small muslin bags of varying colors, and while she has no real skill at sewing, she knows enough to manage this.

When someone approaches, she looks up and is grateful for the interruption. She's determined to get these finished, but that doesn't mean she doesn't find it just a bit boring.]

Zelda and Gandalf, iirc? MAGIC ALL DAY ERRY DAY.

[And Zelda smiles in return, easy and more than a bit thankful to come across a familiar and friendly face. Even though she puts up a fairly confident front, asking strangers to join this cause is still just a bit nerve-wracking.]

He was sitting in the grass, running his fingers over and over the tips of it, his legs drawn up to his chest, and his mind far away. Cloud had ended up here for a moment of peace, using the time to sort through his memories and what he had found out in the tower so far.

And of course he had to think about Zack. It was weird to see his friend again, especially now with all the history behind him. Zack was at the age he remembered him the best - still smiling, still hyper, although he could see some of the concern, it wasn't as tainted as those few brief moments from the year of being dragged towards Midgar.

With memories of Zack, there were memories of Sephiroth. Sephiroth. His hero at one time, the man he wanted to be because he had looked like what Cloud had always wanted for himself - confident, controlled, loved. He wanted that, but what he got was Hojo and the pain and his hero going from such a good person into a monster wanting little to do with the world save to see it burn. Cloud understood him more now, but the years of trying to fight him, trying to stop him, Cloud had been furious with him. Now though, he just wanted to have the illusion with him a little longer. Just another day before looking at the general and seeing that hate in him.

At the sound of someone entering the area, Cloud stopped, dropping his hand to the small sword sitting next to him.

After Zack, Gandalf was meant to meet Cloud

When Gandalf walked in and spotted Cloud, first thing he felt was- A similarity to Zack he just met before. A link, something? He couldn't say what. Similarly, he looked worried, thoughtful as well.

Once again, any similarity with Bugenhagen or the other Sages from Cosmos Canyon is purely coincidental. Gandalf looked down at Cloud, kind of, worried.

"Is there something wrong?"

[Kidou will be in the meadow floor, practicing dribbling and shooting with his soccer ball.]

Illusion Shoot!

[The ball goes flying to the other side of the meadow, towards the entrance of the floor. It splits into three balls going different directions, and one of the balls flies right into the face of who should walk in. Though luckily, it was only one of the illusions that go with that hissatsu technique and the real soccer ball is rolling back after hitting the wall next to the entrance. Kidou jogs over and picks up his ball, bowing in apology.]

Are you alright?

[ ... Suddenly, Gandalf regrets all those sponsoring he wasted on Kidou. Alright, not wasted and that was only a mistake, but still- He sighs and shakes his head. ]

It's fine my boy.

[ He pauses- He doesn't particularly look happy even though nothing hit him. ]

You should be careful, some people in this tower would be angered for less than that.

Minami had been making good progress in her harp lessons lately. True, she had to play slow and build up stamina for plucking the strings, but she could play something continuously now and she'd already had an ear for notes. It helped Zelda was an amazing teacher in her mind--and a great friend. Minami practiced hard for her sake and the redhead was pleased when she finally managed to play out the final notes of the song her friend loved so much.

When she saw her come up for their daily lesson, Minami waved, completely at ease to know her greatest fear had been dispersed with thanks to the woman's kind words.

"Hey! How's your day been, Zelda?"

Despite time being of the essence in their mission, Zelda still demanded that she be able to make time for Minami's lessons. Amidst all the hectic activity of the tower, they give her stability, and it would be a lie to say they don't help her relax a bit as well. It's easy, being around Minami, and that's something she really needs right now. Especially after having the princess facade at full tilt all day.

She smiles though, taking her seat nearby with a bit less grace than usual. She's tired, alright.

"Busy, to say the least. And yours?"

I think I owe him to Zelda but if anyone wants to make it a party I'm good~!

Ven hadn't gotten a good chance to just train on his own lately, and more and more often he had felt lazier and not wanting to. He decided to break the habit however, and was in the 25th Floor Meadow. It was nice and wide open, but he could still use all of his powers here.

And for the most part he had been training, fighting the air and trying out new techniques with Lost Memory, re-acclimating to the lack of Darkness in his heart again.

Of course soon enough, by the time anyone found him... he had decided to stop and lie down in the meadow, and had fallen asleep, with the keyblade laying on his left side. Whoops.

VEEEEEN. And we'll figure out if it'll be a party later. :|b

Whoops indeed. A certain princess eventually comes across him, and she doesn't need the Triforce of Wisdom to piece together what happened. As... odd as that blade (can you even call it a blade? It's doesn't look sharp...) may be, it still looks very much like a weapon. Poor boy must have tired himself out training.

Kneeling nearby, she calls out quietly to hopefully not startle him.

"Ven?"

Saber had taken to a daily routine, much as it frustrated her. Somehow, she was able to maintain her presence in the Tower despite having a Master, putting her in a state not unlike her contract under Shirou. As she currently was, she could produce very little magic on her own and needed to be careful in battle not to overdo it. This meant sleep and food. Lots of sleep and food to replenish the energy she lost. Somehow, she managed to maintain an equilibrium though she knew not how. As horrible tasting as the nutrition bars served in the cafeteria were, they provided enough sustenance to keep her from expending too much and that in itself kept her from complaining too much.

The main issue in the Tower was how much time she had on her hands with little to no clear goals. She'd searched every floor she could her first week here at least thrice over and with no Grail War to guide her and the possibility there would never be a Grail or a Camelot to return to, she had no idea what to do. Protect the people here the best she could, she supposed, but there were many capable people here.

Which led to the question that kept plaguing her: why had she been brought here? It haunted her every day she was here, especially after what that man had told her. If the people in her world were truly dead, why not someone more fitting to be saved, such as Shirou? Or Rin? Or Sakura? Or Taiga? Was this just a way to punish her for her mistakes? Saber didn't know and it was these questions plaguing her whenever she was awake that had led her to erect a practice dummy in the middle of the farmland on one floor and go all out on it with a practice sword. The exercise did nothing to improve her abilities and she rarely broke a sweat, but she certainly did manage to distract herself from her doubts and questions.

Sob I hope this is okay.

Xion knew she really needed to get over her fears and talk to more people. The others were all doing fine with recruiting, but her... She couldn't help but wonder if she was cut out for this job.

So when she spotted another resident of the Tower she wasn't familiar with, she approached hesitantly.

"H-hello?" she stammered, cautious and waiting for their reaction.

ShinRa's General sat alone in one of the library's small study rooms, methodically cataloging notes into a blank book he'd by chance discovered amid the shelves. The door was open; every so often he glanced up as the idle browser wandered by. Granted, it was a far cry from his office in a more familiar Tower, but it sufficed. It was a familiar nuance, anyway. A comfort to raw nerves.

He'd taken to spending a few hours in this same room every day, putting down his observations in coherent order, making sure to note and record everything. If they were to survive here, nothing could be overlooked; everything was important. And it was with that goal that he persevered, at least until a route back to normalcy was discovered.

Sephiroth got: a Wizard and a Princess

The libraries and the study rooms around them had become Gandalf's territories, in a sense. He spent most of his life there,n reading book in the hope to find something- Or to guess what isn't written. It's no surprise he'd spot Sephiroth in that study room.

He didn't want to bother him, but the man looked... Special so to say. And very focused on his work. If they were there to recruit, they better to it right. hence he knocked on the door, even if it was open. least of politeness.

[Xehanort is, as usual, poring over a rather difficult book in the library. There's a few stacked beside him, whether he's already looked them over or they're up next remains to be seen. If anything, he seems almost in a pleasant mood.]

[There is a boy covered in glowing tattoos sleeping in the meadow on top of what looks like a very large chimera-like white lion. The creature's tail moves once in a while, but it appears to be sleeping as well.

They'll need to be awakened first if anything is to happen.]

Zelda and Xion v. GIANT LIONTHING-- /shot

[... Dilemma.

On the one hand, their mission is to recruit anyone and everyone that they can, and while this boy definitely looks a bit strange, he doesn't seem malevolent.

But... waking a giant sleeping beast hardly seems like a Good Life Choice for anyone involved. Watching them with just a touch of wariness, she quietly addresses her partner.]

... Perhaps we should find him again later.

I will take anyone and everyone because Link needs to bother more people :u

[ Link is actually at present training in... yes, one of the meadow floors, of all places. There are targets set up, and they're using their bow. The Master Sword is sheathed, though Link had also been practicing with it and their Mirror Shield, as well. Zelda probably knows that this is the Hylian Hero's favorite floor better than anyone.

Besides, after regaining their left eye, they needed to readjust to it. First they'd had to learn to fight without proper depth perception, and now to re-acclimate, so of course training was going to be important.

... If there is anyone with more Light or Good in their heart than Link, you would be hard-pressed to find them, to be honest. Especially if you can sense the Triforce of Courage, you would know that you have a hero on your hands.

[Of course she does. And she also knows better than anyone that Link is a hero, through and through.

Honestly, asking is likely little more than a formality at this point. But nevertheless, she's nearby, quietly waiting for a lull in Link's practice to speak with her.]
