[For a couple of seconds, she doesn't take the opportunity - then she acts on it, a few fingers moving slightly to hold his very lightly. The debt, she would say, is not in what he had done for her, but rather in that she'd wronged him so, by hurting his friend. That's more than debt enough.]

[Her face lowers slightly, expression hard to read like this - but there's something warm in it, even though she disagrees. She's got plenty of reason to thank him, and even if that doesn't necessarily force her hand--]

[As it should be, then. She lets him pull his hand away without protest, staying where she is herself but raising her face to watch him until he reaches back down for her. At the offer, she only pauses a moment before taking that hand.]
