[The young knight has had bit to try and collect her thoughts since the "Glamour Failure" that resulted in... well, this. Perhaps this is another trick in itself? An illusion meant to break their spirits? Quite frankly she just doesn't know. So for the moment she's decided to do something more productive than allow herself to have a meltdown over this and start looking for other people. This is clearly beyond her ability to figure out.

So when she sees a figure carrying something that apparently isn't fake or subject to whatever the hell was going on? Yeah, that kind of stands out a bit from the others even if she can't instantly recognize who the other figure is. Nonetheless she's going to approach them. Although little about Amelia might be recognizable right now she still carries herself in a distinctly military way, clearing her throat before speaking up.]

That box you're carrying, it's something special I assume? [She's still completely unaware she's talking to the Princess she shared a breakfast with about a month or so back.]

Indeed.

[Just as Amelia can't place her figure, Zelda can't place Amelia's voice. It sounds vaguely familiar, but she can't pick out any particular memory to associate with it.

That hardly matters at this point, however. She has other things to focus on, the least of which being explaining just what is going on and why. In contrast to the chaos plaguing the rest of the Tower as the residents react in shock and despair, Zelda is like an eye of a storm - calm, and at the center of it all.]

This is what is responsible for dispelling the illusions.

You mean that's what caused this madness to happen?! I-

[For a moment she's honestly angry, her voice raising almost into a shout as she says that. But then she takes a moment to think about it, it's not too hard to believe that everything until now really has been an illusion. This whole place is built out of lies, everything since the minute they came here. But if so, then why did it all fall apart just now? Had the person standing in front of her caused that somehow?

... if so, did that mean she had the power to fight the Admins? Somehow? The young soldier takes a moment to try and collect herself, taking a deep breath.]

... you're not lying, are you. I almost don't want to believe you. That this is all we really are now. All we ever were. But somehow I don't think you're lying to me.

[She can't help a wince at the shout, her wireframe arms tightening around the box, but to her credit she manages not to shrink away too much. She is expecting people to be angry with her, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, deep down.

Fortunately, Amelia rethinks her tirade, and Zelda's "expression" smooths back out.]

I would not lie about something of this magnitude. To do so when the truth of things has finally been revealed to us would be cruel.

... Or, more cruel, I suppose.

[She remains quiet for a moment, all too aware of having just about lost it entirely on somebody who is almost certainly not to blame. That won't do. She's stronger than this, even when faced with a truth as horrifying as this. Even though she's not sure if this body needs air anymore she takes a deep breath, steadying herself again. She won't let herself lose control at a moment like this.

She's still angry. Furious, really. But the person in front of her is not the person to direct it at, oh no. She's going to hold onto this anger for the Admins and whatever may stand in her way. But she can't get there alone, and that brings her to some questions.]

Alright. [Her tone is a bit quieter, but there's a determined edge to it.] So this is the truth they were hiding from us, and I'm guessing if you're holding that box then you must have had a hand in breaking the illusion. Tell me. Is there something we can do about this? Anything we can do at all to stop the people behind this madness?

There will be, eventually.

[Her voice remains calm, but there's conviction in her words. If nothing else, she believes what she's saying beyond a shadow of a doubt. She has to.]

The time will come when we can act again, but it is not now. Ruana will no doubt be upset with our meddling, and so our first priority must be to keep people sane and unbroken in the wake of this revelation and her anger.

When the time is right, I will tell you, if you are willing to place faith in me.

Aaaaa sorry for taking basically forever! x_X

[She has to think about that for a moment. She isn't even sure who this other person is, and they're asking her to trust them... but then what choice does she have? She can continue to drift around aimlessly or she can try and do something.

In a way this brings back memories, that fateful day when she and Lord Ephraim stood on opposite sides of a battlefield. When he asked for her help, trusting her... when she decided to make a stand. To fight for what she cared about.

It takes her a moment but her attention returns to Zelda, nodding quietly. She's made up her mind.]

I'm not even sure who you are, but something has to be done. I can't just stand back and watch this suffering continue... so I'll trust you then. I don't know how much I can do to help, I'm only one soldier. But if there is something I can do? Anything? I'll do it.

[Her tone of voice is quiet, yet determined. Once again she's picking a side in an incredibly dangerous conflict, diving headlong into something far greater than herself with no promise she'll survive to see the end. But this isn't just about saving her home anymore, is it? There are people here who need protecting as well. Other worlds on the line. And if there's one thing this place cannot take away from it, one thing this place cannot change?]

My name is Amelia. As a knight of the Grado Empire, I promise I'll do everything I can to help!

[She is a knight.]
sageprincess: (Heavenly lights)

I AM NOT MUCH BETTER sorry aaah

[While the other woman's determination is inspiring (and, admittedly, very nice to hear in the wake of such a horrific revelation), Zelda has to blink at the name and country she uses to identify herself. Grado Empire... why does that sound familiar--]

Oh! We have met once before! I am Zelda, Princess of Hyrule. I believe we have shared a meal once.

[For all the gravity of the situation, she at least seems friendly as she recalls where they had encountered one another before the glamour failure.]

I am certain the coming months will be fraught with need of courage. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated, Amelia.

We can be super-slow buddies! /behold, the worlds slowest high-five

[personal profile] gradosfinest 2013-06-25 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Her rather intense train of thought is momentarily derailed when she hears that name, memories of that rather pleasant breakfast rushing back to her.

Even if it had all turned out to be an illusion, it was still nice to recall and she cracks a small smile, barely noticeable at a moment like this. But it's obvious in her tone, which lightens slightly.]

Princess Zelda! I remember now, yeah! [But this does nothing to change the severity of the situation at hand and her voice takes on a serious tone again.] The admins aren't going to be happy about this at all, I imagine. Their retaliation's probably going to be terrible... but do you think this will open some kind of hole in their defenses? I've been here for months and I haven't seen any way to actually strike at them yet, I've never even seen any of them in person.
