I'm alright, besides the obvious. [He was hanging in there. It had been pretty hard to recognize them both, but Tear's hairstyle was distinctive and their voices just confirmed it. He grips his sword a little at Tear's posture, but doesn't raise it.]

You guys alright? I have the feeling this is going to get worse.

What gave you that idea?

[The sarcasm was obvious in Luke's voice.]

What do you think that was? Ruana? She's made some freaky noises like that before...

[Like when she ate Dax. Eugh...]

[Tear turns to glare at Luke, not that he can really see it, but she hopes he can feel the heat of her annoyance.]

That is not what we need right now, Luke. We should really be trying to find allies, not making enemies of the other residents here.

As far as the noise, it is probably wise to assume that it was this Ruana person. She doesn't sound the most stable of people.

[Luke's sarcasm earns a pointed raise of the eyebrow in his direction, not that it's entirely obvious. His reaction, however, doesn't really upset Fayt that much. The situation was tense enough that most people were going to be on edge, Fayt included.] I think I'd have to be blind and deaf to not notice what's going on. Thanks anyway.

[Dropping the deadpan tone, he nods and continues.]

That didn't sound stable in the least, so you're probably right there. Have you found anything more out besides that? I'm worried about people getting caught out in whatever fallout starts happening from all this. The elevators might not be safe with the power systems like this, either.

[Luke let out an awkward noise at being scolded, pouting slightly, but he fell quiet at that. At least, until Fayt asked his question.]

Not really; we're still trying to find our companions.

[mysterical]

[Tear relaxes and lets her arm fall to her side, thus removing her weapon from being aimed at Fayt.]

You're welcome to join us. I think we're going to be using the stairs for now until we're sure what's actually going on. And three sets of hands are better than one in case of danger.

[He nods once the weapon is lowered.] Since you don't mind, I think I'll take you up on that. I was about to ask that myself, actually.

[They'd be safer in a larger group, and could get more done if necessary.] Do you have any place you plan to look?

Not sure, really. I think Asch hangs around the library, but I don't know about the others.

[mysterical]

Actually, I think the dorms are a better place to check this time of night. Most people would be headed off to bed, I believe.

The dorms are probably our best bet, if you're looking for people in particular.

E-er... yeah, that makes sense.

[He hadn't thought of it since he had still been awake.]

Is there anyone else that you're looking for in particular, Fayt? Maybe that would make things easier.

[He shakes his head.] I don't know that many people yet. My roommates, at least.

Why don't you stick with us then? We're safer in a group.

[mysterical]

There are only so many people we can look for. I think it's wise to just keep our eyes open and to not let our guard down at this point in time. Who knows when the administration will counter this?

Sounds good to me. I think my roommates can handle themselves. [One was a knight and the other.... Well he's not too sure about Gandalf yet.]


Counter....? You mean this isn't their doing?

[Luke let out an uneasy noise, glancing at Tear.]

...I think this was our fault. Well, not us specifically, but...

Luke's right. I think this has everything to do with some of the residents in the tower and nothing to do with the administration. I doubt that they want us to know that this [She gestured to Fayt, Luke and herself briefly.] is what we really look like.

People stuck here like us did this, then? How?

[He could kind of understand the desire to know the truth.... even if it was unpleasant. If you continued to live in denial of it all, you'd never find something to grasp onto beyond it. But this was a lot more than he'd expected.]

Well... there were these little chips that we planted all throughout the tower. We didn't know what they were going to do, just that they were going to help with what we needed to see.

We didn't really count on this.

[mysterical]

I don't think anyone could have been ready for this. [She looked over at the redhead carefully.] Would you have helped if you had known this would happen?

[Luke hesitated at that, looking down at his wireframe hand.]
